January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

I hate to "say" this, but I am seriously considering postponing this trip until April because of this cold weather!! Do you think I am crazy? What are the pro/cons of this? Anyone know the cancellation/change policy at Disney? We are going with my sister's family and it's their first trip. I finally get them to go to Disney and it's going to be COLD!! What to do, What to do, what to do??

When are you leaving? It looked like the Orlando cold breaks after the weekend, if you're content with 60s.

When are you going? From what I can tell by watching the weather on the news this morning is that this front is going to pass this week. The weather in Florida is a funny thing. Wether it be a cold spell or a period of rain, it seems to just turn around in a snap. I'm going at the end of this month and I'm not to concerned about the weather. By mid next week they are calling for temps back up in the 70's. The only thing that could really ruin it for me would be RAIN .

Glad to here that I actually received a third round of Mickey mail today. It was a book of all the "wonderful" things Disney has picked out for me to do on my trip

Hey all!

Been awhile since I've posted because of the holidays, but it doesn't make me less excited 16 more days until the magical day arrives, and I can hardly wait!!!

Just curious (apologies if this has been talked about already), but we used AAA this time around (hoping to get a room only discount if the buy 4/3 free didn't come out), and we just got all our travel docs yesterday from AAA. I know it's only been 8 months since our last trip, but how many deliveries of "Mickey Mail" has everyone received, and what's inside them? We just received the luggage tags, the ME tags, ME booklet, and the vouchers (for PH discount, arcade card, etc). Are we missing anything that someone booking directly would have?

AND this is a dumb question, and I know it's been floating around the boards, but the voucher book also came with a Photo Pass card, registered in our names. I just registered it to our previous photo pass account; I've read in other threads that some may have gotten the lucky discount email because of this (registering the card). Does anyone know if that's actually the case?

Sounds like you have everything you should, we haven't got our packet w/ the vouchers & CL CM told us not to worry-if we didn't get it, they would have it at chack-in. Sorry I can't answer your photo pass question-we hardly ever use it....

We don't get a packet. We are staying DVC (in-laws own) and we rent a car. I remember getting my packet a couple years ago though. That's very fun!

I think I got that extra piece of mail because, if you go to the Disney website and go to the my vacation link (the link were you would do your on line check in) there is a section that asks you what will you be celebrating. Then they ask you what types of things you like to do, food you like to eat, etc. Well, I was bored and I filled it out. So they put a little booklet "made especially for me" together that contains all the wonderful and very EXPENSIVE things I may like to do during my visit. I think they got me though, I may just make a reservation for a round of golf.

That is GREAT news!!! I had looked at weather.com, but it's only 10 days out. It does say next wed it will be in the 70s which is fine - even the 60s would be good!! I would actually prefer that to it being super hot. Love wearing a comfy sweatshirt/shorts!

I don't know how I would have broken the news to a switch in days to the kids anyway!!

Thanks for the good wishs. I just checked our flight and as of right now it hasn't been cancelled. But hard to say what will happen tomorrow! Hope we make it to WDW sometime tomorrow.

ARGH! You guys are scaring me!! lol

We leave in 15 days....well in 1 1/2 hours it will be 14 day.....and I'm really worried about snow and ice up here. I don't think I could handle seeing snow plows on the runway or them spraying de-icer on the wings!! *takes deep breaths* Flying really isn't "my thing" anyway! This is the only bad part I've seen so far by being a snow bird! I know once we get there and are enjoying the low crowds and the warmer temps (it was about 25 here today), I'll be thankful. I just have to GET to that point!
