Here's my 2 cents :) Jan 2-9 will be busier because kids are out of school but the Christmas decorations will still be up :confused3

The 9-16 should be much less busy because kids are back in school but no Christmas decorations :confused3

For me less crowds is more important but I have always wanted to see the Christmas decorations so that's a tough one...good luck :wizard:

:cool1: I booked our family of five yesterday in two rooms (connecting) at Pop for Jan. 19-26. Now I just need to find some fun and out of the ordinary things to set it apart from our last trip a couple of years ago! Let the fun begin!

Any suggestions for clear consise info for dining? I am finding "Unofficial" a little overwhealming and have not yet started my "passporters". Any suggestions are gratefully taken. Thank you!! :hippie:

When it comes to dining info, I think the DIS restaurant & dining plan boards and Allears.net are the best sources. I read the Unofficial Guide too, but the fact is with any print guide, some things are out of date before it hits the shelves because it takes so long to go from written to published.

My husband and I made plans for Caribbean Beach Resort (this is the first time we have stayed here) for January 23rd thru Feb 1st!! No kids just us:thumbsup2

You'll love CBR:love: DH and I went there for our honeymoon and have stayed there 2 times since as a family. It's got a great balance of both family and couple friendlyness.

Thanks so much. I just found the dining boards yesterday. I will become a lurker there now too! :goodvibes

have a great night!!

Hi - I am a little confused on the converting your room only res to a package.
one Disney rep told me that i had to convert the room to package 90 days before my trip or face a $200 extra fee to convert. Another disney rep told me there was no fee, just had to add the package 72 hours in advance of arrival. :confused3

Any thoughts? thanks! :hippie:

90 days would make more sense because your package must be paid in full 45 days before your arrival! :)

For future reference, just know that not all CM's are created equal! Some are more well versed in the ACCURATE ways of Disney! Always check back here when confused! You will definitely get the correct answers on the DIS!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks so very much!! :goodvibes I knew that the correct information would be found here.
The first 3 phone calls to Disney were with the most wonderful Disney Reps going, friendly, knowledgeable and very nice. The last two calls were to dead fish! Not really, just noticed that the level of service was greatly lacking for teh calls I made in August versus the June and July calls.

Thank you again!! (I just love this banana guy)

SillyYankee - You are SO very welcome! :goodvibes

Please pay it forward - if you have an answer to a question that someone else asks, please answer it! Others have been so very helpful to me and know I am able to help others in return! :)

Wishes Dessert Party has been extended through October...wonder what the odds are that it will be extended through January! :goodvibes Those sweets look so yummy!

I'm on the fence about this one. I just don't know if it is worth $23 per person for desserts. We have always liked to sit at this location for the fireworks in the past...but I don't think I want to pay that much to sit there. They do look yummy though don't they!

Me too. The dessert buffet does look good and I like the idea of not fighting the crowds to get a good spot for Wishes, but I'm not sure about spending the money. We've got 4 adults and 1 child so it would really add up, and we could get a lot of the same desserts they serve using our abundant DxDDP snack credits at the Main Street Bakery & Confectionery. Plus we're already planning on making Pirate's League appointments for both kids, so our MK day won't be cheap. But on the other hand, with a toddler it might be nice to have a more confined, less crazy place to watch the fireworks from.

I'll have to decide when it gets closer. Once I know what kind of discounts will be available, I'll have a better idea of how much I'm willing to spend on extras.

I can't wait to celebrate my 38th birthday in EPCOT and to see Illumnations with Dessert! I hope my mom will book the Illumnations dessert!

Did I miss something? Where do you find Illuminations Dessert party? I guess I haven't heard about that one!

We are doing the same thing. We were married January 5th 2009. We plan on being there from the 3rd to the 11th! We found that after the 6th or so it really does die down. We are planning on running the family fun run so i am not sure how it is on the 8th and 9th when the races are. maybe we'll see ya there!

Ugh! I was so excited that they extended the dates that I hadn't noticed that they also raised the price! :headache:
Guess I should just wait and see if it's even offered for Jan before I start fretting over it.
