January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Yes we are doing the deluxe dining plan this time around...It's going to be so fun!

We are too!!:cool1: But it looks like you're using it even better than we are cause with our ADR we have for the most part CS Breakfast TS Lunch early and TS Dinner kinda late ..3 TS's a day mmmm good!! Make sure u carry pants with elastic though :rotfl::lmao:
I couldn't get Liberty Tree Tavern lunch, I wonder what the menu is gonna look like with the change now

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I have two kids (DS who is 2 and DD who is 7), and we just booked our trip for January!!!! We're going from the 21st to the 28th and staying at the Poly. We just surprised our kids by telling them we are going for their b-days (4 days apart during that time) and they are SO excited!

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for the Disney pros, since this is my first time taking the kids! We can't wait!

Jan 5 Cape May's breakfast
Jan 6 Le Cellier
Jan 7 Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package
Jan 8 T-Rex

i switched these up a bit today,i convinced my daughter that we needed to try tepan edo instead of doing GG again

jan 3rd-ohana best friends breakfast (i could not go without seeing the cousins) and tepan edo for dinner

jan 5th-whispering canyon dinner.

i would love to find room for a kona dinner in there somewhere, but i have run out of TS credits...unless i oop another breakfast...:confused3,or i get tonga toast at captain cooks and save kona for dinner,i just don't know what to do:confused3, decisions,decisions...

I am very excited I was able to book Liberty Tree Tavern for breakfast before park opening:banana: We usually do Crystal Palace but its closed while we are there..so I had originally booked CRT but I really didn't want to pay 167$ for breakfast...so now I am a very happy camper.:thumbsup2 We have done the castle and I didn't feel we'd have to do it again.

This will be our 2nd WDW trip, our first was 1/25 - 2/1,2009. this trip is to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I would love to stay in a nice moderate resort, like the POFQ, or CBR. But with the cost so much higher than the Value resorts, I don't know if we can afford that.
I know from experience that we won't need the park hopper option so that is a small savings, but we did decide that we want the DDP. I looked at the receipts for last year and it would save us about $200.00. or more!
The online Quote I got from Disney is for 7 nights/8 days at the ASM :rolleyes:with basic tickets and the DDP for $1777.00.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal, and if I should book this pkg. ASAP?
or should I try to get some sort of upgrade to a moderate resort, like I have heard ppl talk about here?
I have started a journal with days and times of the parks open and closing times, EMH and the like. But I can't seem to find all the Show times for each park, so I can Plan meals and days around them, like the Fantasmic show, and Illuminations. I have heard you all talk about a dinner and show pkg? would like to know more about that.

also I am starting to read about renting DVC points, for stays at WDW. would like to know if any of you have done this and how I might learn to do it also. sounds like you can save a lot this way too!!

Thank you all for all the wonderful advice and stories and pictures. I am learning so much. I want this to be a really special trip for DH and I.

I will now be a happy camper on my Disney vacation cause I got Liberty Tree for lunch on the day I wanted! Last week the Plaza was the only one available but today when I called it pulled right up and for a perfect time 11:50 am (not too early not too late!)
I have to say I feel like a little bit of a donkey for getting frustrated with the lady on the phone when I gave her my reserve number it just wouldn't pop up. I didn't yell or anything but I did have a little 'tude .. turned out that I had typed it wrong on my word document :guilty: oops.. but the WDW phone people are so nice she made no big deal out of it

I have rented points 3 times and transferred points once. The only thing wrong with renting points is that it makes you want to buy into DVC (which is what we did!) Never had a problem with any of the points I have received. It might be hard to get the resort you want at this point. I would check first to see what is available at the resort you want before renting points. Ask the points-owner what you can get for your dates.

Keep us posted on what you decide!

79 days left til our vacation!!!:banana::banana::banana:

i am renting pts this time around, just make sure that you get the person's contact info, sign some sort of contract, and i would suggest using paypal for payment.
there is a thread on the boards for pt rental, but you need to be quick to get the good deals !
i will be staying in a delux for the same cost as staying in a moderate, plus i get a kitchenette ,although i don't plan on doing much cooking, lol!
but with the 4-3 deal going on, you may be better off going that route , try pricing a mod on the disney site, because the values are buy 5 get 2 free, the mods are buy 4 get 3 free, when you go on the site to get pricing, click on the special offer tab in the corner so that you get an accurate quote with the special included.
good luck!

Just remembered that I forget to post my ressies!

Sunday-Early dinner at Ragland Road
Monday-Breakfast at Chef Mickey's & Dinner at O'hana
Tuesday-early dinner at Le Cellier then drinking around the world
Wednesday-Breakfast @ Boma & Late lunch at Tusker House
Thursday-F! package at Hollywood & Wine (we wanted Mama Melrose)
Friday-no ressies-counter services all day

I love reading about everyone's planning. It is getting me so excited. We need to decide on ADRs. I will be booking on Oct 27 with the rest of the world since we are going so late in Jan.

Also since a 40% room only discount came out for Disney Visa we may be extending our trip for a few days at AKL. :yay:

Dang! Am I assuming correctly that I can't make my ADR's online cause we're a grand gathering (7 adults 4 kids and a baby)? Oi, the ADR scene just gets more and more depressing! (remember I was just moaning that the 180 day window starts 2 days before our 90 day would have come) I'm STILL gonna try to stay hopeful but we have a lot riding against us!

(don't read me wrong--I'm not feeling negatively about my vacation at ALL--still 170% thrilled to pieces to be going! :goodvibes)

I don't know much about DVC (other than someday I hope to own some  ) but as far as the 4/3 vs. 5/2, I priced it and it was only slightly higher to stay moderate than value. By slightly I mean under $200 for us. ;) It might be worth it to price it out. :confused3

CONGRATS on the booking ! it sounds like you will have a great anniversary trip, the pricing looks good !
you will be down at the same time as me,and a few others...,lol!

there are so many going to fantasmic on jan 7th, i think we should have a DIS meet at DHS on that day, maybe before our various ADR's for mama's and H&V ...it would be fun:cool1:

i have made some lime green mickey head tags for the trip last night,I just do not know how i am going to be able to wait , 10 days to halloween, then 55 days to x-mas...

Stichaholic,
Ilove your Quote: "this is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."

I would love to meet all the dissers, I am so excited for this trip, DH is also. He is game for just about anything.

shall we discuss our day plans for our trip?

I would love to se if any of you are going to be at the same parks on the same days as we have planned.

at this moment we do not have park hopper tickets, so we are pretty limited in that respect. but it was a decision made for cost and time reasons.

we figured that on our last vacation we spread ourselves too thin and didn't get to see all that we wanted to.

so this time we will visit a park a day acording to EMH, and Shows we could get booked for.

Cant wait to see where evryone will be and when.

We're going to be there Jan. 3rd - Jan. 10th!!

We went last year Jan 10th - 17th and it was actually fairly crowded for that time in January --- we're hoping that the 3rd through the 10th will be a little less crowded! I guess we'll see!!
