January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Well, I'm no longer a January Snowbird, but I'm going to hang around a little while longer anyway. I'm still trying to decide between September and December. Since Christmas isn't that big a deal for me, being Jewish and all, it's quite a dilemma. Of course, I am a December baby, so . . .

We had a wonderful Passover - I did the first Seder with my father's family and the second with my mother's family. I don't see my dad's too often, and Passover's really the only time all year we all get together. Pretty neat and all.

Now I'm back at work and getting matzah crumbs all over my keyboard! :rotfl:

Hope everyone had (or is still having!) a wonderful holiday!

Where are you? It sounds lovely! I love sitting looking at the ocean! Unfortunately both the Oceans flanking Canada are too far for me too look at! I do live right beside the shores of the largest fresh water lake in the world! I guess that will have to do! Enjoy your vacation!

We are in Myrtle Beach, SC ...DS is participating in a baseball tournament... they lost their first game today.... but its nice being here!!!

Andrea- I have a little girl who over did it on the jelly beans today. She has spent the last two hours running up and down the hallway screaming "Yea-Yah!!!!" Oh my!!!:faint:

:lmao: my girls (esp the 2 year old) are still acting nutty. They didn't even have any candy today and they are acting terrible. I put the 2 year old up for a nap at like 11am...just couldnt take it anymore..luckily for me, I am at work and now my poor hubby has to deal with them;)

I love holidays but they are EXHAUSTING. With divorced parents and inlaws, we have way too many obligations! Hubby always says we don't have to go everywhere, but if it was his family we marked off the list...
We had so much candy, I put a huge freezer bag full in the garage fridge to save for later, and we still have two buckets full of stuff! I'm already tired of looking at it all! I'm really excited that this coming weekend we have nothing to do! Remember the days we just couldn't imagine spending a minute sitting around on a weekend night! I think we're going to clean out the basement. Andy already called for bulk pickup for MOnday so we can get rid of all the broken stuff downstairs that Goodwill won't accept and isn't worth selling at a yard sale!

Gosh Jenny - you sound like you're going to be really productive this weekend!! I can only hope to be! Our school has "family fun day" on Saturday. It's like a little carnival. It's indoors, which is good, since it's supposed to rain. I'd rather stay inside and do more cleaning/organizing. So much to do- I'm getting in on a neighbor's garage sale on May 1, so I have to get going.

It's so hard to have a weekend with no obligations!! I guess I just have to do a little whenever I have spare time.

Hope everyone is having a good "hump" day! It's gorgeous here - may have to take a little time off this afternoon and go home early!!

Yeah, the basement is just the plan...we'll see if we actually get it done! It's driving me nuts, though. I walk down there and just feel frustrated and overwhelmed. We started finishing it 3 years ago, then when Keaton was born, we haven't had the time or money to do anything else. At least it's drywalled! It's a great area to play though, and our desktop computer and big screen TV are down there. We should be spending time there!!

Of course if it's nice and not raining, I may have to spend time digging in the dirt instead! Oh, excuses, excuses...:dance3:

Hello all!
I know I've been very neglectful lately. I suppose I'll blame it on being busy, though I don't think I have been.
However, I am graduating this semester, which means Graduation Trip to Disney in the summer!

I finally got the plans nailed down for that, so I decided to return to the boards and check up on things, especially my favorite thread.

I hope you are all doing wonderfully with trips planned very soon in the future!

Good evening everyone. Hope you're all doing good. I'm doing good. Things are a little crazy around here with me. There have been some managerial changes at work and I'm up for a possible promotion! Which would be great, more money, guarenteed hours, and benefits! Also...IT'S BASEBALL SEASON ;):cheer2:.

But I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I have "off" tomorrow. I'll be babysitting for my best friends first born. They bring home Clara Rose - baby #2 tomorrow from the hospital! I'm an "aunt" again! I can't wait to get my hands on that little baby .

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.

~Shelly~

Hello everyone:goodvibes

Shelly-congrats on the new little 'niece'!!! Dance in the Rain, congrats on your upcoming graduation and Disney trip!!!:cheer2:

Well, today is our 15th wedding anniversary:bride: :groom: !! I cannot believe it! It just doesn't seem that long. We are going to eat and spend the day together Saturday--too much going on tonight and tomorrow night with the kids activities. Mom's coming in this weekend and she's gonna kid sit!!! Well, we are down to just a few weeks of school for this semester:teacher:-have some summer reading lined up for those days where boredom reigns...and for some reason it always does-about 1/2 way through our summer break!!! Our weather is off and on....supposed to be really rainy and nasty from this evening to Sunday. I am glad though, in about 6 weeks everybody will be complaining about a lack of rain. Well, that's about all with us------oh, spider bite is much better...Praise the Lord!! It's on the mend, and I finish my meds today. That has been an experience, for sure!! Well, hope you all have a blessed rest of the week and great weekends!!!

Goodmorning Girls! Just checking in really quick. Spring Break has gone by way too fast. A week from today we take Belle to Disney on Ice, so that makes the passing time seem a little sweeter.

Happy Anniversary Shawna!

congrats Shawna!! that is a huge accomplishement:thumbsup2 even good marriages are a lot of work...believe me I know;) we'll have our 10 year in October..hope you have a fun day.

Things are looking good in NJ today...supposed to be sunny and 60 and 70 tomorrow!!! it has been raining here almost the entire month so it been a little gloomy and I am looking forward to some sunshine:)

Thanks Soleil! Have you got definite dates for your next trip yet? Are you going to POP? I think you are gonna have a blast! My younger son was 18 months old and my older son was 5 on the first trip we took them on. They had a great time...I thought the little one might not enjoy it, but he did!! He didn't 'get' as much as the older one, but he still loved everything.

My daughter was 18 mths on her first trip as well...same story, she didn't comprehend a lot of it, but she had a blast--characters were great-from afar!!! So, Belle is really gonna do well. She's old enough to know who's who. I haven't been to the POP, but we did All Star Music on our 2nd trip and they loved the pool. It's the one with the 3 Cabelleros--which of course is a fav around here. I really want to try a family suite, but hubby is a deluxe snob:snooty: He wants CR or BC, so we'll see!!!

Thanks Andrea!! And your right, it does take a lot of work. Lots of patience and love. Aren't u going to Hawaii for 10? WOO-HOO !!!!
I asked Mike if he wanted to go and he said no. I think he really likes Disney and would rather pay toward that as our big vacation. We are planning Jan again, but the kids are wanting to go back in May as soon as baseball finishes.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Shawna!

We celebrate our 11th anniversary next month! :lovestruc

Nothing much going on here. The rain has finally stopped! Spring Soccer had started, that was a muddy mess last night. The field should be a little better tonight!

Hi Snowbirds!!
Congrats to Shawna & Mike, Becca and Aunty Shelly!
It's so nice to hear happy news!
I'm having one more light day at work before my boss returns from vacation! I even told her I'd work tomorrow since it's her only day in two weeks. I normally have Fridays off. Oh well, bigger paychecks are always nice! Sadly it's going to be a REALLY nice day tomorrow.

Shawna - Happy Anniversary! We celebrated our 13th on Monday! We're going away in a couple weeks just for the night. It'll be the first time we've been away from our DS (who is 6) overnight! He's staying with his grandma.

Congrats Shawna! Our 7 year wedding anniversary is Apr 27th! We're going out to eat that weekend and I'm so excited! I just love seeing people's reactions when we tell them how long we've been married. It's pretty funny!

 Bananas all around to Everybody celebrating for one reason or another! We will be celebrating our 10yr on July 2nd and we are returning to the East Coast to visit Halifax and PEI! :cool1: We actually debated about going back to Disney for a few days but decided against it as it would be WWAAAAAYYYY to hot and crowded at that time! ;) Hope everyone is having a great day! :goodvibes

Wow! Congratulations to everyone (on their special day, event, etc.)

Our 10th Anniversary is in July (although we aren’t taking our Disney Anniversary Vacation until August). My Husband and I are going crazy about getting back to Disney, we have talked about moving the trip up to July but then we would miss the Free Dining. But… it’s such a huge savings that we can’t pass it up.;)
