January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

I just wanted to introduce you all to our little Turkey. I think I'm due Nov. 25th. We were able to see the heartbeating this morning and are so thrilled! I can't wait to turn this one into a Disney Baby, too!

Yeah!!! I love baby pix! Congrats, hugs and prayers!!!!!

I would go with you!!!!:hippie:

I'd go with you too! (even though I think it's too hot!)My birthday is 8/26 - we're always getting ready for school too.

Thanks girls!!:flower3:

Well...HAPPY APRIL EVERYONE!!! Off to work to day, but that's ok because spring is just around the corner *I have to keep telling myself that or I'll go crazy...:rotfl:. Have a great Wednesday!

My DD8 wanted to play an April Fool's day joke on her teacher. I didn't want it to be anything mean, so I told her to tell the teacher that she would be gone from school next week because we were going back to WDW. I'm sure she'd giggle and blow it, but we'll see.
The daycare kids tried to get her this a.m. We walked into the house and the kids said, Sarah, there's no school today. (it did snow last night). She stared at them for a minute, and then they yelled April Fool's! Very cute.
So far I haven't been victim today. Trying to think of something to get my mom with. She's very gullible.

Anyone else have a good one?

Thankfully, I've not had anyone try to get me with an April Fools joke. DS was trying out some of his jokes, but at 4 years old, they aren't the greatest. "Look, Mommy! There's a submarine driving down the road!" I have to give him an A for effort.

Mindy - YAY!!! I think little Turkey has your eyes...:flower3:

I was thinking the exact same thing! DS decided that he wants to name the baby Mr. Table if it's a boy or Lucy if it's a girl . . . Lord help me!

Hello Snowbirds! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

I'm just catching up after our most recent computer crisis. :badpc:
Mindy, thanks for sharing the picture! :cutie: Hope you're feeling well.
Jen, glad to hear Phillip is on the mend.

Count me among the Snowbirds who is enjoying hearing about everyone's plans for their next WDW trips but also feels a teeny bit jealous! :goodvibes

Crzyred, when is your baseball trip scheduled for? My hockey and basketball teams have been knocked out of their tournaments, so I'm ready for baseball to start! :thumbsup2 And what plans are underway for Disneyland Paris? That will be our next Disney vacation too...no dates yet, but I've been lurking on the DLP Dis area, and reading up on resorts :rolleyes1

We're dropping too low on the list! 6 months ago we were on top!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
We're celebrating DD6's b-day with a party at Chuck E Cheese for the kids. Not my favorite place, but it was cheaper than some other options.
Supposed to get more snow this weekend. Ugh. I hope it isn't much and doesn't stick around. It sure doesn't feel like spring here!

Hi everyone!

I just noticed this thread, and hope no one minds that I "tag along"! I am currently making plans for a trip from Jan. 19 - Feb. 1, 2010. SOOOOO excited!!

I wasn't sure if this thread was only for those of you who travelled in Jan. 2009 :confused3

Anyway, this is our 4th trip in January, and I simply can't imagine going to WDW at any other time of the year! sure, hot weather to enjoy the pools and water parks would be nice, but there is nothing like walking onto all your favorite rides :thumbsup2

I hear ya Sheree! We got a dump of 35cm on Tuesday/Wednesday! It is starting to melt but still a lot of it around! I am trying not to complain but I too am growing weary of winter! :goodvibes

Hubby and I were on the Disney website last night 'dreaming' and it would cost less than 2500 for 7 nights, airfare included to go the last week of September! If I wouldn't have to pay for the flights right then (of course they're nonrefundable), i would've booked! Probably wouldn't have actually WENT, but it is fun to dream! I'VE GOT DISNEY FEVER AGAIN! UGH!!!!:confused3

WELCOME!! :goodvibes

This was a January 2009 thread, but many of us are planning to go again in January 2010! I will probably be starting a new Jan 2010 countdown thread when we get a little closer so we can all countdown & plan together! :yay:

Where will you be staying? I am looking at either Jan 23-31 or Jan 30-Feb 7. Can't decide where to stay though!

We have already rented points for a 2-bedroom at BWV, for January 24-February 1. We are now planning to add onto the front end, and either stay at CSR, or perhaps BLT, for 5 nights. This will be our longest trip and I am soooo excited! I think it will feel entirely different to have so much time and take it easy, vs. the commando style touring we've done previously.

We are thinking about renting points and staying at BCV! If we do the 8 nights/9 days that I am planning it will be our longest trip yet too! :cool1: I'd like to try to take things at a slower pace this time around and really enjoy relaxing and being on vacation! :goodvibes

Oh, I think you will love the BCV. Besides the whole area being "cool", you'll enjoy the extra space, even in a studio. Do your boys swim in January? Mine, who are now in their early 20's, always swam in January! I'd sit there in a jacket, and they'd be horsing around in the pool. anyway, your kids would love the pool at BCV.

I really think we will enjoy the BCV area. Being able to walk to the Boardwalk and Epcot will be so nice. I am torn between BCV and the Poly though. But I know I can get BCV much cheaper if I find the right person to rent from.

My boys did swim this January. Actually we all did! We were there Jan 20-27. The first few days were chilly, about 55 for the high, then it was 65, then 73, and then finally the last few days were 80! So we did spend one afternoon at the CBR pool! I think the boys would love the BC pool too! That's another reason I am leaning that way.

I haven't been able to find a BCV owner to rent (at a reasonable price) from as of yet. I am thinking that I am going to have to wait until the 7 month mark so I can then rent from any owner. So hopefully the end of June will be here before we know it!! :yay:

Shelly- I'm looking into the same thing! I'd love to rent points at the BCV. I'm still trying to convince my DH into another trip in Jan.

We have thought about renting points to stay at a DVC location in the past, but again with as little as we stay in the room we couldn't justify it.

We may have lucked out though. Our Family owns a vacation property that exchanges through RCI (who is now working with Disney again!). We have requested exchanges for several WDW resorts and finger crossed; something might open up for our dates. So with a little luck we could be staying at a Vacation Club location in January for basically just the cost of the exchange. We could live with that!!!;)

We had a more relaxed and slow paced trip this last time. It was great! We still did everything we wanted to and then some. It's nice to not always be rushing from place to place, then come home and need days off to relax from your "vacation". We had a chance to enjoy our room at SSR and being a 7 minute walk from DTD we spent a lot of time down there too.

XXXXX

So, I'm a clutz. The other night I was doing some stuff on the Wii Fit. Well I apparently got a little to "excited" with the boxing stuff because my right shoulder is killing me. I can barely lift it above my head and can't do much to put weight on it. I did the fit before going to bed and my shoulder hurt when I woke up...so it's either the fit or I had a fight in bed with my pillow :rolleyes1.

If we go back in Jan/Feb, we'll definately look at renting points to see if it's cost effective! It also depends on whatever "deal" Disney is offering at that time! The 4/3 deal with the $200 GC was pretty nice! I liked having that free money whenever we wanted something like an extra snack or needed a souvie to shut the kids up for a while (I know, such good parenting)!! :confused3 :rotfl:
