January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

Quick question for all of you that are familiar with air travel! My parents flew SouthWest when we went and their flight prices dropped before we left. Now they have $98 worth of credits good through September. Problem is they don't plan on flying between now and then. Is it illegal to sell them and if not how do you go about doing it? They know they won't get all their money back but they would like to recoup some if possible. I'd appreciate any help since I'll be the one having to sell the credits for them!

I am in the same boat. We have $360 worth of SW credits. I have heard that it is legal to sell them because they are transferable. I haven't done anything with mine yet. I actually wrote SW and requested that they refund me. . . Haven't heard anything back yet. . . I have heard of people doing this so I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try! :wizard: If nothing comes of it then I will have to try to sell mine because they expire in August.

Hello Snowbirds!

Life has gotten a little crazy around here lately and I haven't checked in here much.

Anyone planning on being a January 2010 Snowbird??? :goodvibes

I have a trip planned in my mind for next Jan!!!! I even made a ticker just so my siggie doesn't look so barren!

As for photopass pics....I didn't see a single photopass photographer at Epcot when we first arrived. We didn't get our first card until the Epcot Character Spot which was around 1pm. As for our pictures, I actually like the majority of them. There were a handful of blurry ones and our pics with Donald at the Character Spot are not on our photopass at all! Thank goodness I took pics with my camera too. We encountered TONS of photographers the rest of the week and we stopped at every one that we saw. I just placed my order for my cd yesterday and I can't wait to get it. I finished uploading the pics from my camera yesterday too so I hope to start my TR either later today or tomorrow!!!

We have our trip planned for 2010! We are going down for the marathon, DF wants to try and run it, but we are staying at Tree House Villas and Animal Kingdom Kindani Village! I can't wait!

YAY ~ Maybe I should start a 2010 January Snowbird thread after this one fills up! :cool1:

Even though we're planning Nov. 09, I'm going to follow the snowbirds thread!! I'd miss you guys too much!
Can I come too, even though I'm not planning January??

And can someone repost the Snowbird's Facebook page? I've just joined Facebook :scared1: and would love to catch up with you guys there!

Anyway, thanks for everyone's opinions about my dilemma. To update you all, I booked a December trip (12/13-18) at CSR! Got the AAA rate, and the CM seemed pretty sure that there would be a better AP rate out. So now I have the September & December trips booked and I just have to make up my mind:scared: Now, before you ask, no, I can't do both - I don't have enough vacation days from my job! I'm really leaning towards December, but I have to try to figure out a few family things first.

Yep, I'm sure we will, although it will be VERY end, into February. Even if it is February, I'll still be a January Snowbird!!

And yes, my signature has a countdown again - AUGUST :cool1: and for my birthday as a bonus!!! I guess there's no such thing as an August Snowbird ;)

We are looking at leaving Jan 30th, so most of our vacation would be in February too. So we'll just have to make it a January/February Snowbird thread! :rotfl:

My DD's are 9(almost 10) and 13. This was there 4th trip in 3 years and they got all the autographs that they cared to last trips, didn't have ANY desire for pictures with characters expect when I pressured, and would have rather spent EVERY day in the resort pool.

DD (9) also fell in love with the pool. She was not as into the autograph thing as we once was. I was told she saw the Fairy Godmother at Cinderella Wishing Well while waiting for me with my mom. She didn't bother to meet her because I had the autograph book:confused3 . She said "what's the point" I found this out yesterday!

January - February 2010 sounds good to me, certainly past the MLK weekend.

Dh has booked DD and I in at CBR (it's a surprise) for August 2009. I am still undecided- heat, crowds- Uggghhh! I keep trying to excite myself - but I just view it as a great expense to sweat and be grumpy? Any thoughts to convince me?

That's a tough one. I probably wouldn't go in the summer because of the crowds and the heat. But if your DD loves being at the pool she will really enjoy CBR!:goodvibes

Hope you can make a Jan/Feb 2010 trip! :wizard:

Okay snowbirds, I posted this on another board and am not getting a response. Could ya'll help me? Here is what I posted:

In October my sister and I are going back to WDW. This is in celebration of her birthday. Unfortunately, my work schedule does not allot for us to visit during her actual bday (Oct 29th) so we are going a couple weeks earlier (13-19th).

Even though it is not her actual birthday, does anyone know if she can still gets some of the special perks/attention? If she can't, do you have any suggestions on things I can do at the parks to make this extra special for her? We are so excited to celebrate her birthday not only at WDW, our new favorite place, but also to spend it together. We live about 3,000 miles apart so it isn't often we can see each other during such a special time!

I definatly vote for the jan/feb thread! It will be my DF and my last real vacation til our honeymoon which will be in july or sept of 2010 not really sure yet

yes, you can still celebrate her birthday at WDW. She wont be able to get in on the free to the park, gift card or FP birthday pass. BUt you can still pick her up a birthdy button, you can still get her a cake, and also they have decorations to decorate the rooms.

I started the Facebook Snowbird group, so I have to add you onto it. If you want to PM me your name and network, I'll find you on Facebook and then send you an invite to the group!

That's the date of my tentative trip on my ticker!!!! We loved the end of Jan and would love to go back at that time next year.
