Afternoon Snowbirds! I spent naptime working on my Disney scrapbook from our trip. Oh how I miss the world!!! I have to get it done before we go back again! When I figure out how to upload some of it I'll share with you...just keep in mind I'm new to whole digital scrapbooking thing.

All this talk about going Deluxe is making it hard to keep up my resolve! I'd always been a tried and true Value girl-I'm cheap and we're not there much. In January between you all bragging on Mods, and the fab 4/3 deal, we went CBR...this next time I'm determined to stay cheap but hopefully longer so we can relax more, but you all keep talking BC and WL and AKL-I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT!!!! SOMEONE...PLEASE...TELL ME WHY VALUE IS GOOD...

We're planning on staying value for the first time in January. We've been spoiled with mods so I'm nervous downgrading. If it's not a value then we aren't going. I'm going to be happy wherever we sleep as long as it's in Disney! I think value at Disney is still probably better than some of the decent hotels off property.

I fogot to tell you all....

G and I are going on an anniversary trip to New Orleans for memorial day weekend. We are staying at the Astor Crowne Plaza Resort. I'm so excited!

I'm done with ALL my finals... FOREVER!
Well at least until I start grad school... eventually...

Now I can be justified in spending all my time planning for Disney... well...and looking for a job. After Saturday I can no longer have a student job, because I will no longer be a student.
Unfortunately the job searching is not going so well... even the few retail places I've applied haven't called back, so now its time to really put some effort into my job hunting.

This is just like my DH! He is such a Disney Snob! I mean the man rides the city bus to work EVERY DAY! When we were in WDW in January he was so ALL about the monorail! He is really pushing me to try and get us a DVC points reservaton so we can stay at BLT! He wants to stay at the Contemporary so he can ride the monorail EVERY DAY!

The kids and I want to stay at POFQ this next time! That was where we had originally planned to stay in January. 4/3 kinda changed that for us. I really want to stay at POFQ next time! I don't mind riding buses on vacation! As long as I don't have to drive, I don't really care how we get around!

We had talked about POFQ too - but we went with BLT. You don't need DVC to stay there. We just booked it straight. Of course, it's expensive without a code or deal. We got the 40% military price.

We have so missed you Jen! I'm not a snowbird in Jan 2010, and everyone has been sweet enough not to kick me out of the gang! Technically I'm a December snowbird now. I see you have another trip coming "real soon!"

Technically this is still the 2009 Snowbird thread, so we all can stay in it...

I'm actually convincing myself that maybe it would be ok to stay in a Value in December for the WHOLE time. If a 40% off (or better) AP discount is offered, then it would be really cheap...

Besides I think it would be hilarious to stay in the 1980s building for Logan's birthday...I'm really easily amused

Hi, guys! I drop in here every couple of days to see how you all are doing. I had alot to catch up on!

DD and I are busy planning our August trip. August hours came out recently, so we sat down and did planning. We can call for ADR's on Monday. She has off from work on Mon, so she'll be there at 7 a.m. with our requests...

We decided to go a day earlier than we originally planned and will be staying at the Swan for one night before we move to Pop. We are all excited about that.

I just got a great price drop on our Southwest flight, too! Wooeee!

Gotta get to bed...

I realize that you don't NEED DVC to stay at BLT...however, "renting" points can actually make it cheaper than staying at a moderate level! Plus you can still book the DDP! I priced it out. BLT requires 104 points for a week in JAnuary 2010. If I were lucky enough to get a reservaton for around 8 dollars a point it would be almost $300 cheaper than staying at POFQ (rack rate)! Go figure!

So all this talk about Deluxe and Values...I have always been a value girl however for my birthday trip I get to stay at SSR and I'm afraid after that experience I may never be able to go back again LOL!!!!!!

That's they way I am. We've stayed at All Star Music, in the suites (so it doesn't feel "completely" like a Value) but this past trip we stayed 2 nights at Music then upgraded to SSR. It was amazing! I really don't know if I'll be able to stay at a Value again. However for us, it was cheaper to rent points and get a Villa than a suite, so we may not be staying at values very often! Enjoy your stay at SSR!

Hey Snowbirds sounds like lots of celebrating going on this month here I though it was just our family that had a crazy May. My birthday is the 7th & my sisters is the 8th, then we have Mothers Day, my MiL b day is the 21st our 16th wedding anniversary is the 22nd & last my best friend & my other sister birthday is the 24th. Can you tell that May is a very expensive month for us?

Well, weather-wise it's already hot here!!! We are approaching the 90s. Our new pastor told us Sunday that it was already as hot here, as the hottest part of summer where there were in West Va. I cannot imagine that.I am ENVIOUS!!!

We are hoping to change our April/May 2010 trip to an early January 2010 trip if we can get a good code. I would love to be at WDW for my DS10's and my birthdays. His is January 8th and mine is the 10th.

My DS's know that we are going but they think we are going in September. I could never keep an entire trip a secret, but I'm hoping I can fudge the dates and suprise them that way. I would love to pick my DS's up from school on my youngest DS's birthday early and tell him "Happy Birthday, we going to WDW."
