January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part V

I have decided that the best thing re: ADRs is that each trip will have to be a little longer than the previous. Otherwise, if I like too many of the places we eat, I won't have time to do my favorites and try all the other new places too!
So if I "have" to go back to special ones like CP or LeCellier, I'm going to need two more days!

Ok Snowbirds, I already have a question. How do you post more then one quote? I have tried several times but each time I try it erases my last quote. I can cut and paste but if I do that the quote will not be highlighted and say who the writer was. I hope this makes sense. If anyone could help me I would be so appreciative!

Try clicking on the multi-quote button (it's to the right of the quote button) for the first person you want to quote (or however many) and then click quote for the last quote you want!

I was there during Marathon weekend this year, and it really wasn't that bad. It wa9s a little more difficult to navigate through the parks during marathons, but not bad. Also, they did close down some roads during the marathon that would make it more complicated if you drive, but we rode the busses everywhere and didn't notice a difference on how long it took to get from place to place.
My DH was a little upset that I didn't let him run in the marathon though, so we might just have to return to let him do it at some point.

I am glad to here that it was not too bad. I can tell you that neither my DH or myself will be running in a marathon but we would be glad to cheer!

Thanks for the info on the annual passes. I talked to hubby and we're not coming back this year, so I guess we'll pass on the annual passes. But hey we still get 5 days!! Yay!!

Good morning Snowbirds!
I had to be sure to post today so I could see my ticker...1-1-1-1! If only I could get rid of that first "1"!

The crowds were definitely more than we expected. I guess we just thought January was the slowest time so we expected it to be even slower than May. The only real slow day we saw was on Wed. Jan 21st at MK, and of course it was only 30 degrees when we got there at opening and about 50 for the high!

Shelly--that might have been the same morning we were at MK. We made it onto the first Dumbo ride of the day, and there was FROST on the seats and on Dumbo's ears!

It was generally more crowded than we had hoped for. Of course, since we wanted to see Spectro and Fantasmic, and do morning EMHs, we were always where the crowds were. Still a great trip, though!

HaHa. That's rather cute! I haven't put up a ticker yet for my DLRP trip yet because we don't know the exact dates. I don't want to start my countdown then realize I have to add more days...that would be depressing.

Mindy, are you worried about doing the parks pregnant, or did your Dr. tell you not too? I just wondered because I went when I was pregnant with #3. It was around 18-20 weeks that we went. i didn't ride the jerky, rough rides, but sometimes I don't do those anyway. It was awesome!!! But, if your dr. tells you not to, then I wouldn't do it.

No, not really - it's cold and rainy here. Would have much rather stayed in bed than come to work! Oh well, at least I have a nice hot cup of coffee/cocoa (I only like the "candy coffee") and time to DIS! It would be better if I were in my comfy PJs though!

I think it was the 21st. . . I bet is wasn't even quite 30 degrees when we went to the bus stop that morning. That was the day that DH asked if we should just stay at the resort all day and go to MK the next day! Doesn't he know that I had a plan and there was no pushing everything back a day???

Yep, I think that was part of the crowd problem for us too, we wanted to see Fantasmic and Spectro and when they are only showing them 2 times a week in January it is bound to be very crowded at those parks on those days. Plus I think we went too close to MLK Day. Oh well, WDW was still awesome as always and hopefully next time will be even better!

In Louisiana it rained all day Saturday, but yesterday was BEE-U-TIFUL. We spent the day at G's family lakehouse. Too cold to get on the water, but still nice enough to sit on the front porch and swing. I could use more days like that.

Winter has returned to Northern Ontario! It was absolutely gorgeous on Friday and then a bit cool on Saturday and even cooler on Sunday. When we left to go out for dinner last night it was a bit flurrisome. When we came home it was snowing ever so slightly. When I looked outside this morning MY CAR WAS COVERED IN SNOW! It is mostly slush and already starting to melt a bit but come on already! AARRRGGGHHHHH

Yeah, isn't it sad how spring on the calendar means nothing in the northern part of the world? I don't think it's really spring until May most years. Even if we get some warm weather in March or April, snow is always possible!
