Does anyone remember how much the pressed penny books at WDW are? I was going to get some for the boys and didn't know if I should do ebay or wait until I get there.

That sounds fun. It's usually too cold to do anything outside here on NYE. I remember as a kid one year going outside and banging pots and pans.
I hope your weather improves. It's warm here today (upper 20s) but damp so it feels colder. And now it's kind of icy.

My MIL used to do that!!! I had never heard of it--she was from PA, so I guess it's a northern thing?:confused3
Okay, I feel like such a scrooge, but I just took down all the Christmas decorations and the tree. :guilty: I have to get things organized and back to normal so I can start packing! That's why we put up the tree so early this year (on Thanksgiving), because I knew I would be taking it down early.

Well it sure was nice to go out to dinner last night and be able to sit there and talk freely about the trip with the kids!! We talked about some of the CS places they want to eat at. they came up with Casey's Corner, Toy Story Pizza Planet, and the CBR food court!

I took all my stuff down yesterday-dh just has to do the tree itself.I am going to start on my closet tomorrow----I try to do the kids before Christmas, so they are done. I put my tree up about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, so I am ready to be finished. And the Pizza Planet is pretty good. I took the kids when Mike went to Dinner with an Imagineer.

Christmas decorations are officially down at our house, too. I still have the outside lights to take care of but that can wait until tomorrow.

I've made the transition to Disney mode, not that I haven't been there for over a year now. With a week to go, I've got to get things in gear! I had started packing some things here and there but just went out and purchased new luggage. Now I'll have to start all over again! I need to start keeping an eye on the 10 day forecast. I need to know what to put in my suitcase!!

Good afternoon my feathered friends.

They moved my mom to a regular room this afternoon!:woohoo: . While I was there today the doctor came in. He said my mom has the all clear for Disney. She will just get tired more quickly. My mom says she's fine with that because she'll bring books along and just sit our hotel room and read. So in reality, it probably is better for the vacation for her to rest, because as we all know if you're at home you find other things to do than rest. We may get her a wheel chair for a few days too. So things are starting to look up around here.

So today all the christmas stuff came down. The house got cleaned. The laundry got done. Now I'm printing off the transfers for our shirts that we need to make. And washing those as we speak. Ugh...I'm tired just thinking of all the stuff I did today. Luckily, a family friend is bringing over Chili for dinner, so I don't have to cook anything. I don't really like Chili but as long as I don't have to cook for anyone else, I'm good!:rotfl: I'm not so much the domestic one in the house!:rolleyes1

ok...I went through my clothes and the girls clothes and I think I have too much to pack:)

I have like 3 pairs of pants for me, 4 pairs of capris, 1 pair of shorts,1 skirt, like 10 tops total (long and short), 2 bathing suits, 3 pairs of jammies. I didn't do underwear or bra's yet.

For the girls, I am packing mostly capris and pants with 1 or 2 pairs of shorts, sweatshirts for at night, long and short sleeved shirts, 2 bathing suits each and 1 cover up. I guess I'll need lightweight jackets for all too. It is lots of layers for everyone bc the highs are in the low 70's and the lows in the low 50's.

What do you guys think? I usually let my hubby pack for himself;)

I can't believe my Eagles are going to make the playoffs:thumbsup2 it is 27-3 at the half.

red~Glad to hear about your mom!! I am tired for you too!! That was lots of work!!!

Andrea~ We went last Jan and brought a mixed bag too------if you are in the direct sun it's a lot warmer than the rides with the A/C going. So, we just brought the light jackets in with us.

Glad to hear good news about your mom!! I'm sure it will go smoothly if you do that.
I've always said food tastes better if someone else cooks it! Doesn't matter so much what it is!

I swore I wasn't going to start packing for at least a week or so (we leave in 26 dats), but as I was cleaning out the boys' rooms yesterday, I started stacking some things together (swim diapers, water toys, shorts...) and my MIL gave me a groovy Lands End toiletry organizer so I can't wait to start packing that! I'm such a dork!

We'll be there the same time and I'm trying hard not to pack yet!!
I do have a box of some "stuff" together, and a couple of toiletry bags that I keep packed although I will have to adjust a few things.

My DH is all ready to start packing! We have to try to pack efficiently and lightly even though we're driving! SIL is driving with us and we're picking up MIL on the way so we will have 6 in our van!! I'm worried that I will be riding with a suitcase on my lap!!

I was going to start doing a little packing this weekend, however all H-E-double toothpicks broke loose :rotfl: . I leave in 10 days. I'm sort of running out of time to pack!

I get so aggravated with hubby and packing. I'll have everything neatly organized (all of us have clothes spread out between all the bags in case the airline loses a bag at least we'll have something, then at the last minute he'll throw a bunch of stuff in there and mess up my system! At least this time we're driving so it's not that big of a deal!

2 minutes left on my ebay pins...

My DH is the WORST with shoes. the WORST. When we went to Alaska this past summer, he wanted to take running sneakers, day to day sneakers, hiking shoes, AND dress shoes (but he really didn't want to wear black pants BOTH nights, because part of the trip was a cruise, so maybe he could bring khakis and brown shoes?). Did I mention he wears an 11? I actually said NO. One pair of dress, one pair of sneakers, and hikers. The shoes I brought (hikers, sneakers, dress shoes, crocs) took up less room than his.

Because this trip he'll be running a marathon, well, he'll still have to bring running sneakers (ohhhhh I think maybe those should go in a carry-on) and running gear, but at least I don't have to worry about him trying to take 2 pairs of dress shoes...! ;)

Only today did I approach the subject of packing (mostly in terms of the Magical Express - our flight lands at midnight. Do we pick up our luggage ourselves or get it the next day?) and he rolled his eyes.

...but I can probably start collecting things. Sunscreen. Rain ponchos.

:cheer2: Sounds like the best possible outcome! And a wheelchair/motorized scooter might be a good compromise so that she can come around with the family without trying to overdo it!

That wasn't much of a game. Not that I expect you care. And Romo once again proves that he is NOT Mr. December. DH is hoping the Vikings/Eagles game doesn't overlap with anything we do for my birthday next Sunday. Is he a great guy or WHAT? He said he'll miss the game if there's anything I want to do! (I want to go shopping with my friends, so he's probably okay if it's an early Sunday game)

Yeah, Andy wears a 12 and waits until I'm done packing to throw in the tennis shoes, sandals and dress shoes "just in case." Since we're doing Cali Grill for his birthday, I'm sure he'll want to dress nice, so I'm already working on talking him in to how his leather slides will look GREAT with khaki's-it IS Florida and Disney World, after all. ;) ;)

Just an observation...
It's funny to me how we've all switched from "are we gonna get a code" to "what am I gonna pack?" :rotfl: Although I LOVE getting on here several times a day and chatting with you all, there wasn't as much ENERGY (Please, I hope someone doesn't take this as negative because it's not), but now that our trips are getting SO close, everyone's back in the high energy OMG I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO mode!!! :yay: I love it! IT'S FUN!!! You guys are an awesome support system and I am so glad I've had you all to share this adventure with!! :grouphug: 26 DAYS UNTIL OUR ROADTRIP BEGINS!!!! aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! I HAVE SO MUCH TO DO!!!!!! :scared:

 I'm pretty geared and so are the kids!

Have a safe trip!! Looking forward to reading about it!! Make sure you tell us how crowded it is and how the weather is!! TIA!!

UGH...I feel like such a procrastinator...and I was doing so well!

I had gotten out of the Disney planning habit which included reading this thread...shame on me. I got back on and a few of y'all made the comments about ME and getting your luggage tags. Whoops! I had forgotten that it was about time to do this :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Then I realized, again, that one of our group still had not given me his flight information so I had to wait on that....then I tried to get to ME online and couldn't find the link...then I had to pull up the flight info for a few in our group and I think it has been changed but I'm not sure [I'll find this out tomorrow]...then I tried to call ME to give them the info I had but was too late....soo.....I hope I still get the information to them in time!

:sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

And Peanut, that doesn't sound like too much to me -- layer layer layer is what I keep hearing from folks.

Crazyred - great news about your mom...

:goodvibes So glad to hear that. This will be a magical trip for you, I am sure.

OMG, We dont take anything down till NY day. I feel like I should since I am going to have a party for DS after we get back. But I think that would be a red flag for the kids.

PEANUT1 I am following a live report from WDW. They are saying it has been hot, and they did not bring enough shorts.
I post it on our thread for everyone that is going soon.
I can't believe my Eagles are going to make the playoffs:thumbsup2 it is 27-3 at the half.
:thumbsup2 Sundays are great...when the EAGLES BEAT THE COWBOYS!
Or should I say crush them.
