Well I'm off to bed now. It's currently -2 but feels like -18 with wind gusts up to -35 by morning. I'm so glad I work at 6 am.

But, could someone clear up some meteorological terms - for instance, what constitutes 'partly sunny' and how does that differ from 'mostly sunny'?

And I can't remember what I wear in weather like that? A sweatshirt? A jacket?

Oh, and Bella, will you be doing this when us late-January snowbirds go to Disney?

Well, as my DH put it - IT'S SNOWING LIKE A BIG DOG OUT THERE!
We're expecting 6 inches by tonight. Then it's going to get COLD again. We will definitely have a white Christmas! Good thing I only have to go to the end of the road today. DD7's Brownie troop is having a tea party. We'll be walking!

Have to make "finger" sandwiches. PBJ on white bread, going to cut them out with cookie cutters. Should be fun.

Sent my cards of with DH this a.m. - he's a mailman, so he takes them to the P.O. Only have one thing left to bake - biscotti! Yum. It's for gifts for my co-workers. They're big coffee drinkers.
I do have one package to send to PA but it's going to be late. Thankfully it's my girlfriend's family and we both end up doing things late for each other, so I'm not worried. I haven't even found a box yet!! Oh well, it will make Christmas last longer!

I need some warm weather too. I'm hoping for upper 70's myself!

The only family member I have told is my mom. I just couldn't help it one day, I had to tell someone! My parents are divorced, so my Dad and Step-mom don't know, my brother and his family don't know, and none of DH's family knows! We just figured it would be better that way so that no one would slip up and spill the beans!! I am hoping my mom doesn't say anything by accident today when we go to her house!


I am thinking about starting a thread about the surprise! What do you guys think??? I don't quite know where to put it though. . . Resort boards? Countdowns? Community boards? Family boards?

Fun idea about the thread - I'll sub.

I wrapped all my gifts this weekend and made shirts for my parents this morning from the grandkids for Christmas... They turned out cuter than I hoped! I bet my mom cries when she opens it! They are so excited for this trip!

All that I have left to do before Christmas is bake some cookies for Santa! Oh and I'm getting my suitcases out this week too! I'm really getting excited now for some reason!

Mini pretzel twists with a Hershey's Kiss on top and a red M&M plunked down when the Kisses are warm. Cute and very delicious.

Warm the pretzel and Kiss combo in the oven at 250 degrees for 4-5 minutes, then gently push the M&M down immediately. It takes a while for the Kisses to set up again.

I'll post a pic in a minute.

I just discovered these this Christmas, where have they been all my life?!?!? I also make them with Rolos and pecans....no cute reindeer noses, though.

Hello all!!! Well....I got my ME stuff Saturday!!!!! YIPPEE!!! We have been busy this weekend. We had outside stuff to work on in our subdivision---picking up some of the yards at a house we are finishing (and sold already praise the Lord!!!!!), so we had to work on it between these freezing rains!!! It is in the 30s/40s today and tonight,but by Tues its gonna warm up and be 70 for Christmas.....unless another cold front comes in. But its going to rain Chirstmas day. YUCK!!!!! Well,5 weeks till Disney!!! Woo Hoo!! It's bedtime for us!!!! We are going to sleep late tomorrow---we are forecasted really cold and raw with sleet. Definitely a sleepy day!!!!

Someone on another thread told me about a site called subsonicradio.com - it plays the music from WDW...this afternoon I was listening to Muppetvision, I'm not exactly sure what I'm listening to now....I think it's a ride in MK

anyway, it's a lot of fun - you have to create a user name/password - then click 'requests' on the left side of the screen under 'station' - then you're listening to Disney. Mine only worked when I was on Internet Explorer, though.

gotta love that changing weather - in TN, we've ranged from 30s/40s to 60s/70s and back again and back again....now we're in the mid 20s but no precipitation forecasted until rain in the 60s on Christmas eve...a snow day would be nice but not what our Northern snowbirds have been through....

Well, we were the crazy ones out today. We ventured out in the blizzard at 9:00am and got home around 1:30pm. Went and did the last minute xmas shopping. DH was worried that the wind was going to tear the truck doors right off.

I started wrapping gifts tonight and now I'm WAY past my bedtime so I'm going to bed. More tomorrow.

Happy Sunday everyone! I've been cleaning ALL day. I'm not kidding. This is the first break I've taken. We must be pigs!

If I had a dollar for everytime I have had that very same thought...we'd be staying at Disney for two weeks instead of one!

And thanks for posting about the reindeer noses- although I've never heard them called that either! I think I'm inspired t o make some and give them to my neighbors! The kids will have fun helping!

Alright its cold in my part of Florida again..29 degrees...this is not why I moved here..okay I know some of you are in the negative below zero category so I'll stop but man alive was it cold here last night!!!

Its the first day of vacation and my only plans are to finish wrapping pressies for my Prince Phillip (my NDH got so spoiled this year LOL) and get some laundry done. Tomorrow I will focus on the grades I want to have done before January 5th LOL!!!

We had a 2 hour delay today. Not for snow or freezing rain, for the cold! It is now 3 degrees out! Wind chill of -12. And it is considerably warmer than it was 2 hours ago when they would have left for school. The wind was awful through the night. I'm just thankful we still have power.

our windchill was -14 when we got up this morning. Brrrrr. This is January weather and what I hoped to avoid by being at Disney! Drat!

Now the weather forecasters are talking 4-7" in another storm coming Tuesday/Tuesday night. With some light freezing rain to top it off, on Wednesday. I am SO sososo glad I'm not traveling this year. I don't think I'd make it to my destination!

A quiet day at work so far.
