our windchill was -14 when we got up this morning. Brrrrr. This is January weather and what I hoped to avoid by being at Disney! Drat!

Now the weather forecasters are talking 4-7" in another storm coming Tuesday/Tuesday night. With some light freezing rain to top it off, on Wednesday. I am SO sososo glad I'm not traveling this year. I don't think I'd make it to my destination!

A quiet day at work so far.

I feel your pain! We got 8" Friday, another 6" yesterday, looking at 3-6" of lake effect today and to top it off it was -18 with the wind chill this morning. It's a balmy 3 now. I read that Syracuse could get another 6-12 of lake effect today! Our Disney trip will not happen soon enough. On a positive note, we will certainly have a white Christmas.

One month from right now my belly will be full from dinner at 1900 Park Fare and I will be getting ready for bed at CBR!

Me too! Well, I'll be sleeping in my own bed at AKV.

In just 12 days, in the evening, d and I will be heading out on the monorail to see the holiday decorations and check out all the lounges at the monorail resorts! In 13 days from right now, we will have checked into CSR and be on our way to the parks!

And it's only 6 more work days until vacation!!

We got about 12" on Friday. It was supposed to stop early Saturday. It did - for about 30 minutes. Then we got socked again with 6-8" more on Sunday. It's dry and sunny today, but only about 10 degrees. It's supposed to warm up to the 40s tomorrow, and then we get rain & sleet on Wednesday. Yuck!

Good morning! We have another snow day today! Yippee!!! I'm thrilled because we're still tired from our trek through the snow yesterday. They actually closed the NY State Thruway last night and it just reopened! It has stopped snowing, but overnight, the winds really picked up. Even though I love having my DD home with me, I hope they have school tomorrow so they can have their concert and party.

Hope all of you that are digging out from the big snows are keeping safe and warm! Although I have to admit...I'm kinda jealous. All we got here was some icy mess.

Thanks! We had a lovely time lighting the candles last night, just the 3 of us. The cats actually sat and listened to us singing! DH made lots of latkes, so it was very festive.

Good morning Snowbirds!

Happy Chanukah to everyone celebrating!

Wow, it is really COLD by some of you! It's 20F here, which I guess is not that bad, relatively.

Well, my MIL arrives this evening, and I am nowhere NEAR ready. Have to go clean the whole house (apparently we are also slobs! ) I also need to run to the grocery store (again!)...might have to get ingredients for those cute reindeer noses!...AND I also just realized I need a few more stocking stuffers. Something is going to have to wait until tomorrow when she is already here. Too bad I can't put off the cleaning any longer.

Are you still planning on going to the parade at DHS on the 22nd? I'm sure the boys would have a blast together!!

Once the holidays are over I'll be able to plunge back into my Disney planning. I'm going to re-think our schedule, adding the Snowbird meet list to the park hours and events, crowd calendars, EMH schedule, etc. Wow, so many factors to consider! I definitely want to make it to at least one meet.

I hope you all stay warm and safe! I probably won't get much DIS time over the next several days, so I will wish you all a very merry and blessed Christmas and happy new year! And for thse leaving soon, have a MAGICAL trip to Walt Disney World!

Oh HOORAY!

I finally got motivated to bake. I decided I wanted to make Oatmeal Cinnamon Chip cookies and chocolate chip cookies with mint m&ms instead of chocolate chips. Well, I realized I only had enough brown sugar for one batch of cookies. DH chose the Oatmeal Cinnamon Chip ones.

I didn't have enough oats.

So I made the mint m&m cookies and brownies with York peppermint baking chips... which used up the last of my vanilla extract.

Thus, I'll go to the store soon and buy flour, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and quick cook oats. It's a wonder I was able to make ANYTHING!

Send some of those cookies my way! The Oatmeal Cinnamon Chips sound amazing!

Reindeer Noses! Well, one anyway.

I got a bag of these as a gift. They are wonderful!

One month from right now my belly will be full from dinner at 1900 Park Fare and I will be getting ready for bed at CBR!

Woohoo!!!! Two weeks from now I will be dining with the princesses.

But, could someone clear up some meteorological terms - for instance, what constitutes 'partly sunny' and how does that differ from 'mostly sunny'?

And I can't remember what I wear in weather like that? A sweatshirt? A jacket?

Oh, and Bella, will you be doing this when us late-January snowbirds go to Disney?

Well, that's a good question. I was actually just copying the forecast on the website. I imagine that partly sunny would be a little less sun than mostly sunny.

I will try my best to continue the weather report through the month of January. Someone may have to pick up for me on the 3rd-10th, though.

Hello all!!! Well....I got my ME stuff Saturday!!!!! YIPPEE!!! We have been busy this weekend. We had outside stuff to work on in our subdivision---picking up some of the yards at a house we are finishing (and sold already praise the Lord!!!!!), so we had to work on it between these freezing rains!!! It is in the 30s/40s today and tonight,but by Tues its gonna warm up and be 70 for Christmas.....unless another cold front comes in. But its going to rain Chirstmas day. YUCK!!!!! Well,5 weeks till Disney!!! Woo Hoo!! It's bedtime for us!!!! We are going to sleep late tomorrow---we are forecasted really cold and raw with sleet. Definitely a sleepy day!!!!

It is very cold here, too! When I got to work this morning our fountain was iced over. It was 70 here on Saturday. Can you believe this weather?!?!

I'm with you Soleil..this is crazy. It goes from being air conditioner weather to my front yard is frozen over....the NE is buried in snow...this is surely one crazy winter!!!!!

Speaking of getting close..you my friend...are also getting very close to your trip LOL!

Thanks! We had a lovely time lighting the candles last night, just the 3 of us. The cats actually sat and listened to us singing! DH made lots of latkes, so it was very festive.

Good Morning Snowbirds!!!! WOW!!! The weather some of you are getting...and it was just officially winter yesterday! I heard that when we have super-active hurricane seasons, that it will follow with harsher and longer winters. I know when we had Rita, out winter was cooooold. This time its even colder-especially when we had that record breaking snow. This morning at 9:00 here, it was still in the low 30s-- Which for us that's cold--I don't know how many Christmas seasons I have spent in shorts and t-shirts!!!

One good thing about the cold-especially down here, is that it kills so many germs and bugs. Mosquitos for one!!! Also, there are so many little sicknesses floating around that are supposed to die out in the cold. They really breed down here in the humid air. So I am VERY thankful for that!!!!

Well, I am going to go through my Christmas lists today and make sure all is wrapped and the stocking stuff is within a quick reach for Wed.night!!! I have to go to the store today, but I don't want to!! And it is always soooooo cold in there!!! Hopefully next week I can make sure all my days are planned accordingly and start my packing list!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!!! so exciting!! Stay safe out there my friends...and as warm as possible!!!

I almost forgot! I got my 2009 dvd on Saturday! Well, I didn't have it in my hands until yesterday since we were out of town! I have yet to watch it, but I'm very excited!
