Hi Snowbirds!
Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving. I did not go out today shopping nothing on sale I wanted. I have a few things I seen that will be one sale till Sunday so, I go out tommorow for them. Have a nice day! :cutie:

We were going to hit one of the malls around here at midnight. They had sales from midnight to 3am. However, we didn't quite make it. There's not really anything specific that we're looking to get. We just thought it would be fun, since we've never done the Black Friday thing before.
We might go out later, but we'll see. My Mom and I both have homework to do.

Hello All, Happy Belated Thanksgiving. DH put up the tree last night in the family room - no ornaments yet, but it was funny because the Thanksgiving stuff is still up, plus the Christmas tree. When I get home, all of the pumpkins and pilgrims will be gone and we'll be heavy into Christmas decorating! Yay!

Well, I'm sitting at work today, trying to do as little as possible :rotfl: The parking lot is so empty, but we follow the Stock Exchange, so we are open with minimal folks here (about 75 out of about 400 in our building).

We close at 3:00 today, then DD and I are going shopping for our "Sponsor A Child". We have a little girl, age 4, who needs EVERYTHING. We're hoping to get her a coat, hat & gloves, plus some fleece outfits. Then, of course, some toys. We do it together so DD gets a sense of giving, moreso than getting, for Christmas. She enjoys it, and likes helping to pick out toys. I figured K-Mart would probably give me the most bang for the buck. It's also the closest store for me. I considered Wal-Mart, but I think it will be more crowded.

Anyway, sorry about the Backlot tour for all who were looking forward to it. That was one of those things that was a 1-time only for us. Plus, they shortened it, so we weren't planning to do that one. DHS is definitely the shortest list of attractions for us because we won't do RNR Coaster or ToT. We're going mostly for the Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast and the Parade. We're skipping Fantasmic too - too intense for DD and too loud for DS!

Update on the Pen Incident - it was a Sharpie! And they took it from the Mom's desk. She told me this yesterday morning. I told her then she deserved to be punished, since she knows she can't touch Sharpie's at our house. She said they only wrote on paper and didn't hurt anything. I still think after Christmas is too long to wait, but I do think she did something wrong and let her know that.

Have a great day all!

Afternoon Snowbirds!
I was one of those silly people out this morning at 5am- crazy I know but I got my dual screen DVD player for the LOOONG car ride to WDW- it will definitely be a big help with two kids in the car! Only $88 at Target this morning instead of $160! I also got the huge 2' plush Minnie and Mickey dolls from Walmart for $10!!! From there I hit Old Navy and got some jeans for only $15! All that and I was back home by 10:15! On a side note- I was not a grumpy shopper at all but I did see some people that were definitely NOT in the holiday spirit! One guy that worked at Old navy was THE nicest person and in such a friendly and helpful mood. I made sure to tell the manager how impressed I was with his customer service especially on such a stressful day.

Monday is December 1st and we'll all be able to say we are going to Disney NEXT month! :woohoo:

I got the update from stitchkingdom.com today. The Studio Backlot Tour will be closed 1/4/09 through to 2/28/09. Bummer!
Oh C'mon Disney! :sad2:
Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I'm trying to decide whether or not to head to the Disney store in an hour. :rotfl:
So did you go? Any good deals?
Could I please ask nicely for Monny2AE to post the recipe for the cranberry pumpkin bread?:flower3: I have never heard of it before but I would love to try it. It sounds very yummy!
Here you go...it turned out DELICIOUS!!!!!

ORANGE PUMPKIN CRANBERRY BREAD
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 5 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
* 2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 2 cups granulated sugar
* 1 cup light brown sugar
* 1 (15 ounce) can 100% Pure Pumpkin
* 4 eggs
* 3/4 cup vegetable oil
* 3/4 cup orange juice
* 2 cups Craisins

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
2. Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Combine sugar, pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil and orange juice in large mixer bowl; beat until just blended. Add pumpkin mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pans.
3. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I'm off to actually get some stuff done around here before my wonderful husband comes home and I break the news about going over the "budget" I was supposed to keep while shopping this morning.:scared:

Yikes- A Sharpie!!! Even Magic Erasers won't clean up those marks. And NO, you do not want to know how I know that. :sad2:

Been there, done that. My DD7 when she was about 3 got hold of one and decided to write her name (maybe she was 4) - ON HER SHIRT! Needless to say, that one was not handed down to her sister! :) She also wrote her name on these canvas bins in her room (this was a separate, later incident) and then tried to blame her sister (who couldn't spell Sarah's name). ARGH!!!
It's too bad the punishment has to last so long for the girls, but a Sharpie can be big trouble.

I'm new to the site and we are going jan 10-17. Staying at Port Orleans - Riverside.

:welcome: to the snowbirds! Have you been reading our thread? We've had it going for a while now - this is Part IV! Lots of fun people and helpful information. Have you been to WDW before? We stayed at POR last year and really liked it. Great food court! (it's all about food for me!) :laughing:

Good afternoon Snowbirds. Well, I'm one of those "crazies" who goes out every Black Friday. I was quite pleased - I was able to get everything I set out to get. I got kind of concerned when I got to Target - the line was AROUND the building!!! Got to the stores around 5:45 and was home by 8!! Of course, I only went to 2 stores - Got to WalMart around 7:15 and they were not busy at all! I was shocked.

Had a good Turkey day. Went to MIL's. Glad everyone else had a good day, too!

YIKES! Grounds for punishment, but I agree, punishment for over a month for that young is a bit much.

We got the DVD player at Target, too! I didn't get there until about 9am and they were OUT, I was so disappointed because that was the main reason I went there. A while later I saw an associate wheeling a cart with stuff she'd picked up thru the store, DVD player included...I practically ran her down (I'm usually not that assertive) and asked if it was the $88 one, she zapped it and said yes, she was just going to put it back in electronics...YEAH, ME!!! I ended up spending $250 at Target (talk about over-budget) and unfortunately alot of the stuff was for "us" not the kids...a charging station for the dresser, a $35 bedding set (that doesn't look too terribly cheap on the bed), and car organizer (we'll see how well that works). A very productive day over-all.

Now I need to be cooking stuff to take to my moms and all I want to do is NAP!! I'm SO tired!!! At least we don't have anything planned the rest of the weekend, except Christmas decorating!!:banana:

Operational Update:
DHS Voyage of the Little Mermaid - closed for refurbishment Jan 27-29.

:mad:
Naturally, since we're going there on the 29th! I was not planning to go to DHS more than one day either. Especially since we don't have park hoppers this time. GRRRRR!!

I am not liking all these rehabs that are being listed ! :headache:

:rotfl: Glad you got it! We're going to test ours out rather than wait til Christmas and find out it doesn't work or something. I am fighting a nap too!

Good afternoon birdies! Glad some of you got the deals you were looking for! My day at work actually started out slow...yes slow. However as the morning went on things picked up drastically! So I got out of there right on time!:thumbsup2

Well I'm going to take a nap for a little bit, I have a huge headache. Then I might head out to Old Navy and see what I can find :rolleyes1
