Good evening Snowbirds!

It has been a LONG day! I was up at 3:45 to get to the stores at opening. It was ridiculous, as I needed absolutely NOTHING. I ended up at Walmart, Toys R Us and then Target all by 6am. Then I headed to the mall and found some great deals on some clothes for Ry, not that he needs them. I also got some good stuff at Old Navy for DH and myself. Then it was off to work for a few hours.

Glad to be home and am sooooo ready for bed.

We are officially under 40 days. 38 til we leave, 39 til we check in at the Wilderness Lodge!

YIKES! Grounds for punishment, but I agree, punishment for over a month for that young is a bit much.

Sharpie are dangerous, but if they got it on nothing...come on. That is a big punshimnet for a young child. DD has done way worst then using a marker.
Try getting black nail polish allover her new comforter and night stand.

Well my "MAGIC MAIL" arrived today. Let me tell you guys.....I used PixieDust Travel and they are the bomb!!! Our TA was Dinorah and she rocks. Our Package (yes...it was a package) contained so many extras over and above the normal mail. 2 weeks from yesterday I will be an official college graduate!

Operational Update:
DHS Voyage of the Little Mermaid - closed for refurbishment Jan 27-29.


Naturally, since we're going there on the 29th! I was not planning to go to DHS more than one day either. Especially since we don't have park hoppers this time. GRRRRR!!

Are you kidding me?! We're going on the 29th as well. My DD LOVES the Little Mermaid! I'm so bummed out!

I had a VERY productive day! First, I got up at 1am to purchase a GPS for my dad from Kohl's. It was on sale for $79.99 (after the $20 rebate) and I had a 15% off coupon! Major score!!! I then went back to bed and woke up at 4am. My mom picked me up at 4:45am and we hit up the mall. I am almost done shopping! I got some great stuff at Old Navy (of course!), Express, JC Penney's, Bath and Body Works and Forever 21. After the mall (we were there for 4 hours) we went to KMart and Target. I got home around 11am. I've been lounging around since I got home. I'm sooo tired! I sure do love Black Friday!

Anyway, sorry about the Backlot tour for all who were looking forward to it. That was one of those things that was a 1-time only for us. Plus, they shortened it, so we weren't planning to do that one. DHS is definitely the shortest list of attractions for us because we won't do RNR Coaster or ToT. We're going mostly for the Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast and the Parade. We're skipping Fantasmic too - too intense for DD and too loud for DS!

What do you mean they shortened the Backlot Tour???

We are pretty bummed about that one being closed. We really enjoy it. In May DH was chosen to be in it! He was the guy that gets all the water dumped on him in the show part of it!!

Well at least the Little Mermaid is only closed for 3 days. We've never actually done that one before. The boys aren't really interested. I was thinking about it this time, and it will be open the day we will be there.

Nice! What kind of extras did you get? Perhaps I'll book with them the next trip... Just don't tell my hubby I'm ready to start planning another one before we even leave for this one .

Mom and I went shopping...we left at 7 and got back about 6:30. We got most of the stuff we wanted but didn't really need. We did get 2 of our important items...Mom got a futon for the basement...and I got the Cricut Personal Cutter, I'm so excited for this I've wanted one for so long...I got it for $99.99 from Walmart, they price matched JoAnn Fabrics...the only thing I didn't get was the the rolling drawer cart from JoAnn's.

As my DD told me today, there are 27 days until Christmas! I can't even believe it. I'm thinking about doing some wrapping tonight after she goes to bed. All I have left to buy for her is the Nintendo DS. The bundle packs that were in the ads for today didn't appeal to me. She wants the pink one and the bundle packs had light blue or red. Not gonna cut it! We'll also get her a few games too.

Since there are 27 days until Christmas, that means I'm 57 days away from WDW!! I can hardly contain myself!

Everyone must be crashing after a heavy day of shopping! Or still in a turkey coma. Maybe tomorrow we will hear about more fabulous bargains!

I had a totally nothing day, barely did anything! A few loads of and going through the big pile of paperwork. DH worked and then got the last of the outside lights up and they are now ON!!
The kids are watching Polar Express (15 more minutes and then bed). Tomorrow we will set up the tree and maybe some decorating. My DD7 has a brownie meeting in the am (none were going out of town) to make decorations for a local nursing home and then maybe we will shop a bit.

Well I went to Old Navy and got $65 worth of stuff! I really do like the $5 sections !!

So at this time in 40 days I will be at Mickey's House!!! I'm so excited!

Welcome new Snowbirds. I cannot believe how long list keeps on growing!

Congratulations to all that are now paid in full. I am too! I had to email our TA as she had left off our dining. We paid for it, it just wasn't in the notes. She emailed me back a new invoice and included our dining and also, the Disney Story Time that was part of the AAA package at MK. It feels so good to be all paid off doesn't it?

Just a few quick questions-
1. What is Black Friday? Why do all the retail shops open crazy hours and discount heavily before the Christmas season? In my part of Canada we don't have this and they do have some discounts before Christmas but usually not the large discounts until after.

2. We will receive a AAA Diamond Card and Parking Card. I don't really know what the Diamond Card is good for as we haven't received it as of yet. I can understand what the parking is but does anyone know what the discounts are for the Diamond Card? This is the first trip we have booked through CAA/AAA for Disney.

Afternoon Snowbirds!

Here you go...it turned out DELICIOUS!!!!!

ORANGE PUMPKIN CRANBERRY BREAD
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 5 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
* 2 teaspoons baking soda
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 2 cups granulated sugar
* 1 cup light brown sugar
* 1 (15 ounce) can 100% Pure Pumpkin
* 4 eggs
* 3/4 cup vegetable oil
* 3/4 cup orange juice
* 2 cups Craisins

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
2. Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Combine sugar, pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil and orange juice in large mixer bowl; beat until just blended. Add pumpkin mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened. Fold in cranberries. Spoon batter into prepared loaf pans.
3. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

I am finding that many of our Snowbirds have tasty recipes that all are sharing with us here. I think this is wonderful.

Arrgghhh! Not another one! Fortunately for us we had scheduled our day at DHS BEFORE the closure! Phew!

Also, I went ahead in the calendar and checked February as well and it appears that the Backlot tour is actually closed until the end of February!

You should go to the CAA website for your part of Ontairo. Follow the links for Disney Travel and there you will find out what exactly your diamond card can be used for! I know one thing for sure - you get 10% off at the World of Disney Store @ DTD! There is lots more discounts for restaurants and other shops in and around the Disney Area! Check it out!

Can't sleep UGHH..this is the 4th time this week I've been up at around 2am-3am YAY!! Most times I can get back to sleep...this morning I'm not so lucky...I think I'm going to try to lay back down and take a nap and maybe get up and go visit Wally world early in the morning!

Morning, Snowbirds!!

Sounds like lots of us found great deals yesterday. I'm still reeling from it. I'm new to Black Friday shopping, this being only my second year. I got two tops at Limited for church on Christmas Even and I dislike both of them. I think I'm heading back on Monday (have a coupon) to just get a whole new outfit.

I'm getting ready to go get my hair cut. DH wants us out of his hair. He's working on his thesis and he's a bit stressed about it. Maybe I should go shopping first and THEN get my hair cut
