Good morning Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

This has been me all morning :surfweb: since I haven't been around since Friday! Yes, I read all through the end of Part II (from page 238 :scared: ) and got all caught up on Part III. Wow we are chatty! :chat:

:welcome: , new Snowbirds! The more the merrier! :jumping1:

:grouphug: all around to those who especially need them. The Snowbirds are here for you.

Sarah--I guess you're at your Dr. appt. now. Hope you're getting good news! Hey, you have the same birthday as my DD--she'll be turning 1!

Kimberly--I'm so glad to hear your kitty came home! :woohoo:

Carrie--My name is Kathy...thanks for asking! It just occurred to me the other day that no one here knew that. I also like addressing people by their name if I know it.

Thanks to everyone for their input on renting DVC points. I think that IF I could get a 1-BR at OKW it would be a great deal...but only during the week, since weekends cost a lot more points. But then we'd have to move to SOG (or possibly an OKW studio?) for a few nights. I'd be surprised if OKW would be available anyway...basically I'm thinking that it's not worth the trouble to work it out for this trip. But I'll definitely keep it in mind for future trips as the kids get bigger!

Christmas shopping...yikes! :scared1: Am I the only one who isn't done yet? (besides the day-after-Thanksgiving shoppingfest?) OK, am I the only who who hasn't STARTED yet? Guess I need to get on the ball! :santa:

Our first day...we'll be arriving early afternoon. Plan is to check in at SOG and head over to MK. We'll visit some attractions, have counter service dinner (not sure where--DH loves clam chowder, so maybe Columbia Harbor House), and catch Spectromagic and Wishes! pixiedust: I'm concerned about one thing, and maybe you have some advice. We usually do rope drop and hit the big rides early. I'm afraid that arriving mid-afternoon on MLK day it will be busy, but the guys (including DH) will still want to hit the e-tickets. How can I convince them to save those for later in the week when we'll be there early?

Happy Disney Day, everyone! :wizard:

By the way, I love everyone's countdowns! I wish I had events to countdown to! I LOVE Thanksgiving and the days that follow. This will be my 5th year going out on Black Friday and it's a holiday to me for sure! I just go by myself and I don't go too many places. I always hit up Old Navy (and this will be my 2nd Christmas shopping experience with my discount!)! In past years, I've gone to Toys R Us, Macy's, JC Penney's....it all depends on what I'm shopping for. This year, my eyes will be peeled for the Nintendo DS. I will most likely be up at midnight and purchase it online. I really don't like going to Best Buy, Circuit City, etc on black Friday. Too much chaos!

I have only bought my DD a few things so far for Christmas. A bathrobe and some Disney shirts. That's it. I do the bulk of my shopping on black friday and then pick up other things as needed throughout December. I can't shop for Christmas during the year. I would lose things!

Okay, after thinking I didn't have much happening in the next 92 days, I found a few things to look forward to:

4 days until Halloween

13 days until DH and I have a date to see Wicked

30 days until I see Wicked again with girlfriends :)

31 days until Thanksgiving

47 days until cabin weekend with girlfriends (different girlfriends)party: :drinking1

59 days until Christmas:santa:

64 days until 13 yr anniv of 1st date with DH

82 days until Girl Scout Cookie sales start (yup I'm the cookie manager for DD7's Brownie troop)

88 days until DH and DD5 leave to pick up MILfor WDW (by car)

92 days until we are all together again at WDW!!!!:cheer2:

Oh, just G, Belle and I. We are going to make a special dinner, put Belle in her new Tink Jammies and curl up in the bed together. It's more of a family night than a party. :)

Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate!!!

I got a little teary at the end, too. HSM is what gave those kids their career. (With the excepetion of Ashley Tisdale since she was on Suite Life.) Speaking of her, my only real complaint is that there was not enough Sharpay. It seemed to completely revolve around Troy and Gabriella.

Okay, agreed. However, I think part of this story was Sharpay's redemption. Did you notice how her hair got darker throughout the movie, and not as teased and sprayed? She found out what was important in life, and showed how she could focus on others not just herself.

WOW - HSM philosophical discussions!

Personally, I thought there wasn't enough Ryan. He was featured so much in 2, then it was kind of dropped. Overall, the story was secondary to the production numbers, which meant they couldn't focus so much on the individual stories. And now that Zac Efron is such a star, they wrote it to feature his story more so his fans would be into it (plus Zac was hesitant to do the 3rd movie, so I'm sure that was part of the reason for featuring him more.)

And Snowbirds, can I say that we are talking A WHOLE LOT. Look at all the pages - our excitement level is so high. We're all under 3 months, and now that Halloween is practically here, we are just constantly motoring through holidays until our trips. :cheer2:

wow everyone! I am so excited to see all of your countdowns. Being as I work in retail I am dreading Halloween being over. my life goes from having two days off to week to maybe one or half of one. I wish I could go shopping on black friday, but alas I will be at work. I am not angry though! I am soo looking forward to going to Disney in Jan! I have 75 days left and I know time will just fly with the holidays approaching!

Okay I just went back and read some of the other pages. I really did not intend to insult anyone with my HSM3 rant. Sorry Sharadoc if I went on too much.

No apology required :) I honestly did not see any s*xual undertones at all, and I thought the kiss was fine, too. Just goes to show how we're all different, that's all, but I think I see way more on TV shows for kids that I don't feel comfortable with.

Oh My goodness! Page 17 already? My my my y'a;; have been chatty this morning! Sometimes I hate that I can't say good morning to you all until lunchtime! I always have busy mornings and never anytime to sleep in! This has been me for the last hour trying to catch to all you chatty snowbirds! :surfweb:

Just had a few comments to make on other posts!

It wouldn't be Halloween without blowing up pumpkins LOL!! Dr. Mayhem shows up and we actually blow up pumpkins (EXPLODE LOL). What we are doing is showing the exergonic reaction when you mix calcium carbide and water together and then light the gas on fire! We will actually have the pumpkins carved and the explosion blows out the pieces creating a very spooky looking jack o lantern!!

We are also making Martian Slime and Elephant toothpaste on Friday!

Oh Wow Jen! You must be the best science teacher ever! :woohoo: What awesome ideas! :thumbsup2 Wish I had been lucky enough to have a science teacher like you in HS! :)

My DD just turned 6 and we're doing Epcot. She's never been there and neither has my DH. My DD loves learning about different countries so we plan on buying her the kids passport thing. She'll love getting stamps at each country and we'll most likely take her to the kidcot funstops to make the masks. I loved Epcot as a kid, but every kid is different. You can definately make it fun though.

This is also our plan for our DD's! They both love learning about other countries and cultures! We plan to spend almost 2 full days in Epcot because we know that our DD's will be totally into it !! :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a great afternoon! :goodvibes

Our flight gets about 9 am, we should get to POP around 11. We're renting a car for the day from the Car Care center, heading to the Disney outlets and Walmart. Then to DTD for some shopping and dinner at Cap'n Jacks (any one been there). After that we're heading to EPCOT to watch Illiuminations.

We have a 9 day ticket, so we're planning on going to each park and seeing Wishes, Fantasmic and Illiuminations. Since we have no young kids, LS is 14, late nights are no problem. We can just sleep in the next day.

Not really looking for anything big the day after Thanksgiving. We went 2 years ago to Target to get my video camera. Last year we went out about 9, Mom would rather pay more than go out at 4 am and stand in line in the cold. We start shopping early, so were almost done.

AAWWW! That sounds so sweet!! Enjoy and :bday: Belle!!

Oh, it's not her real birthday! It's her 18 month birthday, though. We are just celebrating because she is her Daddy's 'Tink' and that's enough reason for us for a little family fiesta!:grouphug:

HSM philosophical discussions - Now that's my kind of discussion!

I didn't catch the Sharpay hair thing while I was watching the movie (suprisingly), but thinking back it is so true. I also missed Ryan, too. I think he is a great dancer and really enjoyed his character in HSM2. I loved how he asked the composer girl to prom. She's such a pretty girl.

I get the whole Zac Efrom thing- but he is too cheesy for my taste. However- if I was a tween, I'd probably have his poster hanging above my bed.

Hey Laura!! I was out yesterday afternoon--I have been wondering how things were going with you and your congregation!! Hopefully things are better and you are just busy!! Stay in touch--we missed you!!

Wow!! I have never even heard of that.

Thanks to whoever posted about the movie and the under 12 crowd( I read so much I forgot!) I don't think we'll be going to see it. Maybe rent it someday and I can edit!! HA!!

Wow! I guess another notch on the Bad Mommy scale for me. I'm moving up!

Here are our ADR"s all dinners between 5:30 and 6
Jan 21 Ohana
Jan 22 Tonys
Jan 23 Le Cellier
Jan 24 HDD at 5;00

Can't wait to me that castle again...then I know I am in WDW. My 8 yr old grandson is so excited...his third trip.

You are seeing Wicked twice within a month...you are so lucky!! I love that musical and would love to see it on stage!! Instead I must only read about it and enjoy my CD LOL

Awwww...sounds like a great party!! ENJOY!!!

I hadn't thought about that...hitting up the Outlets and what not...hmmm I am getting there around noonish and will have a rental car. Maybe I'll need to program my GPS and find the Disney outlets and go buy most of my souvenirs there that day...wow I can never just make up my mind and stick to it!!

I used to love shopping on Black Friday. Now I don't. My DH works that day and I won't take the kids with me!! A couple of times he's gone super early to the Target 1/2 mile from our house to pick up something special we were looking for, but now we usually skip it. Although this year he wants a GPS and is shopping for it each week. I told him if he finds one he wants that's super cheap on Friday, he can go stand in line for it and I'll wrap it up! :)

We aren't doing much for Christmas this year - we got the big family gift (Wii) and will get the girls each an American Girl doll in November when the AG store opens at the Mall of America. Then we don't have too many others to buy for, so we just pick a Friday and will go shopping when the girls are in school.

Does anyone else do big baking extravaganzas? I like to bake a lot and give treats as gifts to co-workers and neighbors and take them as hostess gifts too. It's not too expensive and then I don't eat them all myself!

Where will you see Wicked? We are finally going to see in on Broadway Nov 15th-thanks to my Dad! My DD9 has been into Wicked since age 6 when she performed Loathing in a drama workshop. We are both so into the music. For Good makes me cry every time, especially since we moved from Reno to Charlotte this summer. Right before we left, another class in my daughter's recital did a ballet routine to For Good with two amazing singing sisters performing the song. We actually went to her final recital the day we flew out, so I was really overcome. We'll have to compare notes afterwards!
