The official countdown is on for our first Disney trip. We are arriving January 11th and are staying at the Polynesian with deluxe dining. All ADR's are made and now we are busy planning our park days. My husband has been to Disney as a child but this is my first trip. Our boys are 8 and 6 and are so excited!!
I'd love any tips form experienced Disney travellers if you have any to share. 76 days and counting!

I do not know how many days I have left today...I will look when I post this! Hope you guys get your codes. Since I am staying DVC I won't be able to use any, but I hope they are good for you guys!
So what is everyone doing their first night in WDW. Our flight lands at 10:30 pm.

When we went in October 2005 it was so stinking hot we could hardly breathe!
I have a question, and I figured I'd ask here before I search for someplace else.
We will be at SSR. On our return home day, we don't leave until 6:35(ish) pm. So we will be at a park that day. When we check out of our room, will SSR hold our carry-on stuff for us?
We've never stayed at anything about a Value, so we have NO IDEA what we are doing. Plus we will be so out of place...we'll be the losers walking around taking pictures of EVERYTHING!Feel free to stop over and say "Hi!"

First, to answer your question, my daughter is a sophomore in college, so we don't really have a lot of time to make up the lost money. We'll figure it out. And thanks for all the helpful hints!
I got a Mousesavers Hot Deal in my email this AM, and I was so excited!Until I saw that it didn't contain a code.
Oh well, back to the wait.

Well since I changed my times AGAIN ( I know its crazy my indecisiveness) I will be arriving around noonish on the 15th. I plan on seeing if my room is ready, if not I'm just going to drive myself over to EPCOT and enjoy an afternoon there. I really would like to just snack my way through WS for lunch and dinner!!! Then I'll go check in at my hotel and get a good night's sleep for my first full day at Magic Kingdom.
Oh, I was a Blockhead in the day. Still am. I'm glad I don't have to keep it secret anymore.I saw them in concert in 1990 when I was nearly 15. I'm not sure I actually heard anything since I was screaming the entire time!

A woman on my scrapbooking board just won a superfan radio contest. She got to interview one of them for the radio show, hang out with them backstage, and be one of the people dancing with them near the stage during the show. It was pretty cool!
Sadly, their US tour ends just before I arrive stateside! WAAAAH! I so would have seen them in concert given the chance!![]()
Oh, Thanksgiving is a rough one. I guess because Christmas is about so many things. We spend a lot of time in church for Christmas, and the family visits spread out over the course of 2 or 3 days. But Thanksgiving is all about being with family. We've spent 4 Thanksgivings here, and unfortunately, we'll not be home for Thanksgiving again for another 5 years or more.Last year everyone celebrated at my grandparents farm and they passed the phone around for me to chat with everyone. I could hear everyone laughing in the background. It broke my heart. I made it through the conversation, but bawled when I hung up. It's really hard being so far away sometimes.
I've got a 2 1/2 year old nephew I haven't met yet! I can't wait to meet him!!! And they haven't met Georgia Kate...she just turned 3! It will be really good to go home.
I believe it I had to bust out my fall jacket this morning before we left. The highest its supposed to get here in the Panhandle is 75 degrees on Friday. We actually will get in the 30s tonight! I'm definitely going to be packing my winter clothes (which means a totally different thing then you guys are thinking LOL), but be prepared for Fall like weather!
Okay, I'll make a countdown also.....
10 days till the 11th Anniversary of DH and I meeting![]()
4 weeks till Thanksgiving (give or take)
8 weeks till my birthday and Christmas (give or take)
and
70 Days till Disney

I am so on edge waiting for a January code! In the meantime, some advice please, snowbirds. We will fly in arriving either at around 9:30 am or 11:30am. We're staying at AKL. That night will be the only night Fantasmic is offered. I am still trying to decide if we should go with DD9 and DS5 (almost 6). I keep hearing mixed things. We'll have 4 nights, one of which will be date night at Cali Grill and one will be wishes cruise. Don't know if I should try to squeeze in Fantasmic, and stay for EMH at HS (heard the dance party is fun) or try to keep it to an early night so we can wake up early next day. DH is warning me about keeping the kids up too late- we don't want cranky, whiny kids at Disney!! I'd really like to see Illuminations one night too. So much to fit in!
