I bake a ton of cookies for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I have to make 6 or 7 different kinds. I got a Kitchen Aid mixer a couple of years ago and I love putting it to good use.

CODES? Question -

This is my first experience with codes. From reading through the boards, it looks like a Disney Visa code comes out, then a few days later, it's open to the general public. Is that right? If so, then all of the Disney Visa folks will be able to give us regular folks a heads up! :thumbsup2

On the other hand, it looks like this year there have been those last-minute codes that just came out on the Disney website. I wonder what it will be for us?

Has everyone purchased all their Halloween treats???? I have not bought a thing yet..... I guess I should get out to the grocery store soon.....

That is what has happened in the past....

The Kitchen Aid Mixer makes everything great! I LOVE mine. I have the 600 watt professional model. Mine is white. What's yours? I've heard the flip up model is easier than the bowl lifting kind, which mine is.

I love the mixing part of baking, but hate the cookie dropping. Takes forever.

Okay, after thinking I didn't have much happening in the next 92 days, I found a few things to look forward to:

82 days until Girl Scout Cookie sales start (yup I'm the cookie manager for DD7's Brownie troop)

I was DD9's Cookie Manager last year, too! Yummy, those Lemonades are my favorite! But I have to check dates for this year, I may be gone when orders are due. :sad1: Although, it would be nice to not have 40 cases of cookies in my living room, waiting for the Cookie Booth. The access is too easy!

I too love to bake goodies around the Holidays. My most sought after treat is my Caramel Corn which I adore making...it is so yummy. I also have a Kitchen Aid Mixer (Navy Blue) and I use it to make my Divinity and many batches of icing for the sugar cookies LOL.

Love my kitchen aid mixer also... makes baking aa breeze... I don't have the big fancy one... but the one I have works great for me....

You can tell it is hunting season around here... I live in a small country subdivision - we are surrounded by woods... and the gun shots are everywhere.... both my boys hunt... yesterday they came back in the house and they smelled awful....I asked them if they had been rolling around in dirt...my DS was so excited.... he then pulls this little disc thing off his hat and puts it under my nose.... yuk!!! Dirt smell.... they acutally try to smell like dirt.... it was awful..... :lmao:

I make TONS of cookies and chocolate covered pretzels and things for family, friends, teachers, bus drivers, etc. :goodvibes

Jen- Can I be in your class this week???? OMG it sounds like so much fun!

To join the Epcot debate, while I love it, when I took my cousins, 11 & 14, they HATED it. I started with WS and they were miserable (this was also after a 6am flight, not too smart!) By the time we were planned to do future world they wanted nothing to do with Epcot. They weren't even impressed with Soarin'. So I think you really need to consider what makes your family happy and what they would like. If they're into computer games and stuff, you should check out Future World, but WS is rough on kids who are old enough to become bored easily and too young to appreciate the cultural experience I find.

I forgot to quote it so I don't remember who asked me about renting DVC, but I HIGHLY recommend it! There is a whole section of DIS devoted to renting DVC's and most people have great experiences. You don't get some perks of booking through disney (no codes will apply, no daily maid service) but you get to stay in a deluxe quality resort for a little more that value prices (at least if you rent a studio) If you are looking for a suite, it may get pricey since they require a lot of points, and I wouldn't recommend renting for any weekend nights either. If you play your cards right ( getting a good rental price and picking a value season) you will save a TON of money!

I want to join this thread! We are going from the 10th to the 17th and, hopefully, staying at Pop. Dh is running the marathon and staying onsite would be sooooo much easier! Crossing my fingers for a code!

I'm very late to the party, but we will be at the Yacht Club from 1/20/09 - 1/24/09.

We have an AAA rate of $275 (-15%), but are hoping for a good room only discount.

:cheer2: Welcome!!!:cheer2:
I just started visiting this thread a few weeks ago, and I love it here! It is a great group of people!!!

I can't let myself get excited for Christmas yet, in November it'll start!!!!
Although I do a TON of baking with my grandmother and I'm really looking forward to it! We make at least one batch of something a day from Thanksgiving on.
I'm starting to look for cute home make gifts to give to people, just something small for the extended friends and family, so if anyone has any cute ideas I would love to hear them! Budget is the name of this year's Christmas game!
I too will be joining the mass of shoppers on Black Friday! Since I'm working the Thanksgiving Day Parade that means 2 days of waking up at 3am, some holiday weekend huh?

I totally missed the Wicked discussion that was going on, but I too love that show! I think I've seen it 5 times now! You're going to love it! If you have some extra time in NY and you're a student you should try to get tickets to Little Mermaid! I loved that show even more than Wicked and you get $25 tickets with a student id!

Urgh off to class, which means I'll have 10 pages to look forward to when I come back I bet!

Have a great afternoon ladies!
