Shelly..........another thread..........another reason to party!!!  :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:

Jen.... our lives are just way to much alike... you work with teens... I have them... DH fish, hunt, etc... and aren't Disney crazy like us.... and I could talk about and plan Disney EVERY DAY!!!!... :lmao:

I love TGM just for the fact that his what parks on what days are right on the money... atleast from past experience of us using his methods..... never tried the UG but I do love my passporter.....

 At least we know we aren't alone in this LOL:hug:

I too love TGM for that fact and that fact alone, both times I have used him (once during Mother's Day week and once during Florida Spring Break time) I have never waited more than 20 minutes for anything, so it has always been worth it to me LOL!!!

Hey! We get to be snowbirds, too!

We will be at WDW Jan 8-14, doing the Disney Half Marathon. We are eating at Spoodles the 11th, and Boma the 12th -- I'm leaving the rest up to how we feel...

My ds10 is going to be an alien for Halloween. He's trick or treating with his two bffs, who are twins. I got all 3 boys little plush Halloween Stitch figures from the Disney store, since they call themselves the "Stitch Brothers".

Halloween plush are half price right now at the Disney store, and you get a 15% off coupon for your next purchase between Nov. 10 (or first, I can't remember off the top of my head) and 23rd...great time to stock up on Tinkerbell gifts if you are travelling with little ones...

This is an adults only trip -- don't feel bad for ds, he needs to stay at home to be in school. His grandparents are coming to spoil him for the week, and he's getting a 2-wk family vacation in Orlando at the end of August...

:welcome: to the Snowbirds!! :cool1:

If you are really into the animals it can take an entire day or more I would guess. AK is HUGE, the largest Disney park. But if you are like us and don't really care to see the animals and just go to do the major attractions, you can be in and out of there in 3-4 hours.

My DD loves animals, so we might need the whole day I guess! All I want to do is ride EE and I'll be happy. Well, I'd like to ride Dinosaur too. I already know we're staying away from the Flights of Wonder show and It's Tough to be a Bug. I do NOT like the thought of birds flying over me, and my aunt told me my DD would not like It's Tough to be a Bug.

We must be polar opposites because I'm an obsessive compulsive planner!! I have membership to TGM and Unofficial Guide and I have preordered the 2009 Deluxe Passporter...I'm insane LOL

Part of my thing is I love to read (and obviously chat) about it, but I can't actually make a plan and follow it in great detail. Then it doesn't feel like vacation if I have to do certain things at certain times etc. But I do have the UG (have had a couple years of it) and of course obsess on the DIS. Because we haven't been on a Disney Cruise before, I think I'll at least get that Passporter.

I don't belong to TGM, but I've thought about it. I've subscribed to the UG and I like it well enough. I too pre-ordered a deluxe passporter. I have the 2007 version and its great! I haven't really been planning lately. We just have to book our rental car and buy park tickets. That's it! However, I know that I will start planning and re-planning once I get my new passporter! I just LOVE reading about WDW! I pretty much know what parks we're going to on certain days. Since Fantasmic is only showing twice and so is Spectro, I had to plan around those. I have to pick a day for AK. Never been there, so I have NO idea how much time it will take.

Meghan..... Animal Kingdom is not really a day long park.... if you plan it right and see all the shows you could get out of there by 2pm if you are there at rope drop.... we ride all the big rides... EE, Safari, Dino, Prim. Whirl, etc... and never miss Festival of the Lion King... and we try to fit in Nemo show also... although this one I could live without... we also like to walk the trails but we do not go out to Rafikis Planet Watch... that will add some time to your day... but that might be something you would want to consider... the last time we were there it was like a petty zoo.... and all kinds of conservation folks around teaching the kids... it was kind of cool.... my guys like the thrill rides....:confused3

:welcome: to the Snowbirds! I wish we still had a Disney store in Buffalo. I miss it so much. The closest one is in Syracuse (my old hometown). However, I just ordered 4 shirts for my DD and 4 shirts for myself from disneyshopping. com. It only came to $67! I got some great clearance stuff!

I would like to see the Lion King and Nemo show, but it's not the end of the world if we don't get to it. I know my DD would love the safari and the walking trails. We're buying 4-day park passes (not hoppers) and through UT, you get 3 days free! So, we thought we might as well visit AK for the first time. We're not trying to see everything there on this trip. My little sis said it's amazing even if you just want to wander around.

Golly, I sure am having a bad day at work.:sad2:

I'm supposed to come back up tonight for Bible Study and I just want to go home and crawl in bed.:sad1:
