Well I don't have kids either...a little sister but no kids. She's not going out this year but is going to a friend's party. She's going to be a witch. Everyone in our city trick-or-treats on Halloween.

Congrats to those who hit double digits. It's fun, isn't it. :cool1: :cool1:

I have the Unofficial Guide and we borrowed the Passporter in the pass from the library. I have never heard of Tourguide Mike.

Jumping in. We are staying at AKL CL 1/22-1/26. Me, DH, DD 9, and DS 5. I am getting addicted to DISboards and am trying to soak in as much info for our plans!

I know it is late but I just thought of a really good QOTD!

What is your favourite way to unwind in the evening after a busy day at the Parks?

Last trip... By the end of the day DD2 & DD4 would be asleep in the stroller so we would take our time getting to the bus/car, and take in all the atmosphere and theming that wasn't so easy to do when they were awake.

This trip... I think it will be to fill up our drink mugs at the Food Court, then all go for a stroll around Pop or along Hourglass Lake, and talk about what we've seen/done, or what we want to see/do the next day. Much easier to do since the girls will be DD10 & DD11!

Time for a cuppa & lunch now, then pack DD9s bag ready for Yr5 camp, then off to clean the pool as my DDs are using it nearly every day now the weather's warmed up. Heading for a top of 31C today (which I believe is around 88F). Gotta love this time of year, warm enough to swim, but cool enough to leave the windows open, celing fans on, and airconditioning off.

For all of you in the US who are reading this after waking up Tues morning - have a great (:earsboy: DISNEY :earsboy: ) day!

Welcome! I just jumped in over the weekend, and I feel like part of the gang already! It's a fun talkative bunch!:)

Holy man, you people need to stop talking and having so much fun without me!

Usually we just sit!:rotfl: Have a little snack. Unload pictures from the camera and look through those, then end up laughing at the stupid pictures we have, then laugh to hard because we are so tired that anything you say is funny so we end up looking like this -->:rotfl2:

Yeah...we're cool.:thumbsup2

That usually means falling into bed. Now that the kids are out of strollers, they are pretty beat and crash quickly. Now that DH and I are out of our 30s we are pretty beat and crash quickly. I'd love to be able to sit on a balcony with a nice glass of wine or hot chocolate (depending on the weather).

Speaking of which, I better hit the sack. Everyone have a good night and good day tomorrow!

Wow. I just tried to catch up on this thread but it is impossible. I'll just try to keep up now. Any important January news out there? Any chance there might be Pirates and Princess Party sometime in January? I guess I need to figure out how to get my signature blinged out with a countdown clock. Okay, I should really get to bed. 6:30 am will come too quick.

Hi guys!! Just checkin in on the thread before I go to bed. I spent the last 2 hours finishing my book for my book club. It was very good. It is called "The next thing on my list".

Good Evening Snowbirds! :goodvibes I hope everyone has had a really great day! :) We arrived home a little earlier than we thought we would so I thought I would just drop in and say hi! :yay:

A comment about the current conversation.... I don't believe anybody means to be exclusive in the conversational trend. We find common ground and want to explore it! I personally find it very exciting when I "meet" somebody who has similar life experiences as me! Whether it be motherhood, marriage, faith, work or whatever. Inside each of us we have a part that is made to desire connection with others, so when we see connection, it is only natural to want to expand on it! However, I will apologize for myself if anything I have said has caused another to feel left out or excluded! For myself, I will try to keep my part of the conversation more relevant to the Topic at Hand - DISNEY!

You took the words out of my mouth. I never mean to exclude anyone or make anyone feel uncomfortable. I'm not one to judge anyone and I don't think anyone else on here is either. I feel very comfortable talking to all of you wonderful ladies, so I'm sorry if I've excluded anyone. I'm not like that at all. I'm not trying to push anything on anyone, I'm just talking about what's on my mind. Once you do make connections with people, it's very easy to get carried away and talk about all the things you have in common. I'll keep it to PM's from now on.

QOTD- I don't really do anything in particular when it comes to unwinding. I'm usually pretty beat once we get back to the hotel. On our last trip, we only went to MK. We just took it easy the next day and swam at the hotel. On this trip, it's going to be nonstop touring, so I will probably fall into bed the moment we get back to the hotel!

I think relaxing this trip is going to involve a shower, a short sit on the balcony and then crashing into bed. This will be my longest stay at WDW and my first trip with a 4 year old :rotfl: In the past, he was in the stoller and we could make him do whatever we needed him to do. Now, he's going to be on his feet and moving around. I'm sure we will ALL be exhausted!

WELCOME! You are going to love it here in the Snowbird Lounge! make yourself at home.

Good early morning everyone. I'm up early for work today. It's funny . . . I supposted to work two days a week but I've been working more than my share of 3 day work weeks :( At least I'll be home to have lunch and take DS to preschool before I have to get back!

have a great day!

So jealous- my husband just built a fire in the woodstove to keep us toasty on this chilly morning.

The first time we went we would head back to CBR and turn on the weather channel before bed- it was our Honeymoon and Tropical Storm Barry decided to also take a honeymoon over Florida that week. :scared:

The last time we went my son was 6 months and our nightly routine was bottle and bed.

This time we'll be with our almost 2 year old and almost 5 year old. I'm thinking they will be spent after a long day at the parks. I'm sure our wind down routine will be just relaxing in our room reflecting on the day and talking about our plans for the next day. Perhaps we'll get one warm evening to hit the pools!

Peanut1: My bookclub meets tonight. We just read The Thirteenth Tale and I absolutely loved it. Would you recommend The Next Thing on My List for our next book on our list?

I have a feeling this will be us again this year! :rotfl: Last year, our DS (then 5) fell asleep the minute we left the park (which meant us carrying him to the bus, on the bus and through the hotel!). I'm guessing it'll be the same this year and I will gladly fall into bed and crash!

And, Shelly, we have a Red Power Ranger this year, too. Don't know why he decided on a Red Power Ranger. :confused3 Other than seeing them at Disney last year, I don't think he's ever watched the show.

Good morning Snowbirds! I don't have to work today, so that means I have to clean my house. I'm so not looking foward to that! I'll check in periodically.

What is your favourite way to unwind in the evening after a busy day at the Parks?

As soon as we get back to the parks at night my husband and son pass out in bed, me on the other hand I have never been able to climb in bed after a busy day and pass out. So I usually go out on the balcony and sit for a while just taking in the beautifal surrondings and that usually clears my mind enough to finally go to bed.

Well, as the odd duck, I'm not "hurt" by everyone's conversation, just pointing out that, yeah, I'm different. BUT!!! even still, amongst the posters with children, the posters who go to church - everyone does things differently. I like hearing everyone's POV on life!

What is your favourite way to unwind in the evening after a busy day at the Parks?

Fall into bed and collapse! Is there anything else to do? ;) Okay, so we've been known to go to DTD. When we're off property, things are different - we'll stay at the park till closing and then go for a late dinner... then fall into bed and collapse.

I really owe my kind, considerate, wonderful DH a more laid back vacation... this year, it might be it, especially after his marathon! Plus, it'll be his 3rd (my 7th) trip to Disney, so we can certainly take it easy, pick and choose, and otherwise enjoy life!

You took the words out of my mouth. I never mean to exclude anyone or make anyone feel uncomfortable. I'm not one to judge anyone and I don't think anyone else on here is either. Keep chatting! Keeps the thread interesting! Like I said, despite people's similarities, we're all different and it's fun to learn about everyone. Just because I picked a weird path doesn't mean I think everyone ought to be like me.... to the contrary! Whose kids would I get to spoil, otherwise?! Whose babies would I get to knit clothing/accessories for? How can we learn to understand and be tolerant!

Thanks for everyone's recommendations on cameras so far. I'll collect them all and see what kind of bargains come out for the holiday season. Trust me, any point and shoot will be easier to take with me than my Nikon D40. Of course, it IS coming with me to Disney (I get decent pictures of my hubby running with it!) and it'll probably come with us to AK. But the p&s would be great for the rest of the fun, candid moments that occur in the parks! :)

Happy Tuesday - today's my last training of this session! Woohoo! (I miss the last one since I'll be on vacation) It's been a long boring process :faint: and I'm glad to see it winding down. I just hope they have brownies for us today. Fresh veggies, hummus, and pitas are nice, but where's my chocolate, dang nabbit! (On the plus side, I'll be so bored I'll be able to go home and nap! ;))

Good morning guys!!
Karen....It was a very light easy read...not much to it. THat being said, I did enjoy it. I found it on the list of "top 100 book club picks". We have been doing this for 3 years so finding new books is challenging.
