Good morning all! MY friend is in WDW today and she called me bright and early to tell me it was warm and they were headed to the Studios!! I am so going to do that to her in January when it is really lousy up here and warmer in WDW!!! I wish it was Early Dec. and we could just say one month left!!!

My daughter's have had no school since yesterday for the Jewish Holidays. So poor kids are in school anyway, because the school district I work at doesn't do that. We all do get Monday off! I can not wait!

Does anyone know if there are any parties like Princess and Pirates in Jan? I want to budget for it if they do! I hate that I booked this trip for my birthday and can't take advatage of the free birthday thing because I miss it by 6 days!

Our family favorites are Chef Mickeys and Crystal Palace. Always good food on the buffets, always clean, and always great service. :goodvibes

My favorite is probably LeCellier. DH's favorite is Mama Melrose.

Hey!! I haven't seen any dates being posted yet for the Princess and Pirates Party but I keep checking!! If they finally update I will let you know!!!!

Man I wish we had Monday off our school district doesn't give Columbus Day or President's day off anymore!! Oh well...I do have a teacher workday on the 20th which will be nice so I can catch up on grading!!!

Wow I can't believe some schools are open on these holidays. My kids are off for all that stuff - Labor Day, Columbus Day, MLK Jr Day, Presidents Day, etc. It was nice when I was still working in the bank, because I would have off all those Federal holidays and so would DS.

Since we are all talking about food...I'm sure this has already been asked but I'm curious...what is everyone's favorite Disney restaurant!! I have only eaten at Mama Melrose (we were more eat at the hotel and in the room people our last couple of trips)!! This is the first time I have more than one ARD ( WOOT!!) so I'm just curious to know..where is the one place you have to eat at when you go to Disney??? (I apologize if you have already answered this before..I'm just too curious and I love dining reviews LOL!!)

I love Chef Mickey's!!! We are not eating there on this next trip because we want to try new places. CM is usually our breakfast on the morning we fly home ( we always get evening flights).

We also ate at Crystal Palace last time and it was great. I love Tigger, so this was an absolute high for me ( I sould like I'm 3):rotfl: .

This trip we are trying Mama Melrose and Boma's (opinions anyone?). Our travel day we will be doing the character breakfast in AK (former Donald's Breakfastosaurus(?) that moved over by Kilimanjaro Safari's).

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to the chiropractor then to do a little shopping with grandma (she loves the dollar store).

It's supposed to be gorgeous here this weekend, I'm ticked I have to work!:rolleyes1

Good morning, Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:

Hi all!! I am back from my glorious vacation with my husband...but I missed the kids so much I thought my heart was going to explode. Here is a link to my very brief trip report.
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1978182

Welcome back! Glad you had a good trip--I enjoyed your report! Thank you for the comment about missing your girls (who are beautiful, by the way!). I hate to admit that I feel jealous of people taking trips "just the two of them"...in ten years with kids, we haven't had even a weekend; there's just no one anywhere to leave the kids with...but I know I would miss them terribly, and they'll be gone too soon as it is. :sad2:

Happy Thanksgiving to the northern Snowbirds! The kids and DH have off Monday for Columbus Day, but we don't have anything planned that day. But on Sunday we are going to Busch Gardens (VA, not FL)--should be fun! We'll get to practice pushing a stroller around a theme park (don't think I'm going to like my stroller very much), and also see how the boys are with some bigger rides. Two years ago, DS10 (then 8) loved the Big Bad Wolf suspended coaster, but last year he refused to go on it. :confused3 He insists that he's going on RnRC in January, though...thanks to Aerosmith! :rockband:

We are also hockey fans here...hoping the Caps can make it farther into the playoffs this year! We're also big on college football, but I'm going to keep quiet about that, with all the Wolverines and Spartans around here! :tiptoe: (our alma mater is in the next state south of there...) ;)

Mama Melrose is very good, beware though - SLOW service. I heard that before we went and thought - how bad can it really be??? Well, we were in there for 2 hours!! A very neat place though, a nice relaxing atmosphere, lots of lights strung about - gives you the feeling of eating outside under the stars. The food was very good. DH says it was the best meal of his trip! He got the "Spicy Italian Sausage with rigatoni pasta, peppers, onions, and a tomato basil sauce topped with caprino cheese". I got "Wood-grilled Chicken tossed with Pipette pasta with artichokes, peas, roasted red peppers in a basil and four cheese cream sauce".

Even though the service is very slow we are going back in January! I have heard their steak is good, so I think I will be trying it. I'm sure DH will stick with the sausage and pasta!

We are going to Donald's breakfast too!

I must say I'm very excited about the Crystal Palace!! That is my send off breakfast I'm doing it as my last hoorah!! Anyways I have heard many good things!! Thanks!

Well I can at least be thankful for MLK Day off, that is when I'm going to Disney :rotfl: Yeah its a bit sad that a lot of schools don't observe these holidays anymore! A lot of my kids won't even know Monday is Columbus Day besides the fact that I will mention it in my room!

Mmmmm, restaurants! We haven't been to WDW as many times (recently) as many of you, and we don't eat frequently at table service restaurants. The only one we've returned to (and are going back again in Jan) is Biergarten. Good food, fun atmosphere! DS8 was born in Germany (as was I, way back when!) so it's an extra-special treat for him. Too bad there's no Ohio restaurant for DS10. :rotfl:

Ladies I meant to mention this yesterday so please forgive me!! I know many of you on here mentioned that you are big scrapbookers!! I thought I would pass along that right now Hobby Lobby is having a 50% off all its open stock paper (making it 30 cents a sheet) and all of their stickers are 50% off!! I went the other night and found some paper for 10cents a sheet (bought about 2 of every sheet there) and then went a little crazy on the stickers (Even Disney ones were on sale) but I thought I would pass that along to my fellow scrapbookers!!

All this talk about food is making me hungry!!

Me too!!! :rotfl: But instead of snacking on the candy stash I keep in my drawer when I see kids do random acts of kindness LOL I'm going to drink more water and then pray that the bathroom is unlocked during passing periods as I left my keys at home today LOL!!:rotfl:

I just couldn't resist this!

That's precious, Trixie! I was thinking about you last night! I noticed you weren't around yesterday. Glad your back!:banana

Hope my Peeps are doing okay! I think in all the excitement of the birthday I completely missed the party for getting under 3 months! Is it too late to party now? party: party: party: :lmao:

A party is not a real party without you Peaches! Scot may be the cake icing master, but you are the PARTY QUEEN!

Well, in less thatn 2 hours the Disney Celebration tour will be in front of my building!! :cool1: :cool1: I'm excited - even after hearing how it's really not a big deal. I just want one of those Mickey balloons. :lmao: Mickey and Goofy were on the local TV news this morning, so I hope that means they'll be down there too!! My son saw and was so excited! He knows we're headed back to Disney in January.

OOOOHHHH!!!! Tell us all about it! That's so exciting!

I think my favorite place to eat is CRT (for breakfast). While the food is not the best I've had, it is my favorite memory from childhood and I'm a very nostalgic person. Being in the castle makes me feel special princess: and I love the potato casserole they serve.

Food-wise, I have always loved Wolfgang Puck. I can't count the number of times I ate there when I lived in Orlando. It is YUMMY!!!!

P.S.

You should all know that it's 70 degrees here and I broke out the winter boots today! I'm in short sleeves, jeans and my black Steve Madden's. I feel fabulous!princess:

P.P.S.

Last nigth I had a dream/nightmare that I was half-way through my trip and didn't take pictures from my meals. I was in a serious panic!:rotfl2: (This is the 3rd time I have dreamed that. I think I'm Dissing too much!)

Shelly - your boys are absolutely adorable! They "look" like very nice boys!

I see that your Ds is very much into Star Wars! My DD7 LIVES for the days we let her watch Star Wars! :woohoo: Whenever she has a freind over she asks them "do you like Star Wars, do you want to watch it? ?" So far most of her friends are not so interested! I guess my girls are a bit different than most kids their ages - they are not into High School Musical or Hannah Montanna AT ALL! Oh well, they are mine and I love them! Looks like your DS had a great birthday!

of course you do!!! this will be a blessing the older they get!! I am leary now of some of the clothing for little girls---and some of the 'role models' out there are just:scared1:

Ok speaking of planning OCD...I found this site

http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar.asp

that tells you the exact times that the sun rises and sets

I know it is very sad, I must get a life :)

How Wonderful!! I love sites like this--of course it just shows my 'nerdiness' !

Wow, one of the kids! You are too sweet!! :goodvibes

YAY ~ 5000

:woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo:

Okay, I'm off to soccer soon. Have a great night everyone! :grouphug:

I love the bday pics!! And your dog!! Your boys are real cuties!! And so are you-you look so young! Congrats on the 5000!!!

Hi all!! I am back from my glorious vacation with my husband...but I missed the kids so much I thought my heart was going to explode. Here is a link to my very brief trip report.
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1978182

loved your report-cute pictures of you and hubby!!! I have thought about a Disney anniv trip--but I don't think I can go without the munchkins.I wouldn't enjoy it as much.

Good evening everyone. Well, I won't be on here too much over the next few days. I will try to squeeze out some DIS time tomorrow though. Let's see...what's on the agenda for tomorrow.

Breakfast in the morning with my two sisters and my mom, pumpkin spice pedicure (doesn't that just sound wonderful?) with them in the afternoon, wedding rehersal at 6pm, rehersal dinner at 7pm. Since the tuxedo place sent the wrong shoes for my DH, we have to go back to pick up the right shoes tomorrow afternoon. I might try to fit in one more tanning session (my darn tank top tan just won't go away!) in the afternoon as well.

Then, Saturday is my big sister's big day! :bride: :groom: I'm so excited!!! On Sunday, my parents are having a brunch for our out of town guests, wedding party, etc. We're also celebrating my DD's birthday that day with our extended family since they'll all be in town. Wow. What a weekend! So, I'll try to peek on in here tomorrow! Have a great weekend everyone!

Have a wonderful time and know we are thinking of you!!

Nobody around tonight? :sad1: I'm sitting at the desk in a hotel room, DDs and DSis are already asleep! Fun group, huh? :upsidedow

Ha!!!

I just couldn't resist this!

How Cute!!!

Hi everybody! I have a question for you. I keep going back and forth...I can't decide on Garden Grill or Coral Reef for dinner one night. I really like the idea of the personalized menu but my Mom, me and my boys don't like fish. My husband and Dad do?? I'm just not sure where to eat :headache:

Which do you think would be better for our group??

I haven't done Coral Reef-just never heard anything spectacular about it. But, we love the garden grill--did you know it's a rotating restaraunt? it's really fun and the characters come by at least twice while you are there. We have been 2 or 3 times and the food was good--last time something was wrong and it didn't rotate- it was supposed to be fixed the day we left--and it broke the day before we got there. What a bummer-- but we can't wait to go again!!

Since we are all talking about food...I'm sure this has already been asked but I'm curious...what is everyone's favorite Disney restaurant!! I have only eaten at Mama Melrose (we were more eat at the hotel and in the room people our last couple of trips)!! oh my gosh!! We love lots of stuff!!! World Showcase: Biergarten, Rose & Crown, Le Cellier,Nine Dragons,--these table services are great-it's like visiting another country for the price of a meal. What could be better? Ummm,Tonys is pretty good, Crystal Palace, 50s prime time, kids love Cosmic rays and caseys. the little place on the corner of main street--across from Casys that has sandwiches, and awesome ice cream-Plaza Restaraunt--love it! Yummy-I am starving!!!!
