Honestly, I try to stay as far away from major cities as possible. I don't care for being in the city at all. Harrisburg is about as much as I can stand LOL

Isn't Phelps' big homecoming parade today or tomorrow? That should make a mess out of that town for a while. At least you won't have to deal with it!

Michael Phelps...I just adore him LOL!!! I used to swim competivitely in high school so I just love to watch swimming! I bought the Highlight video and have been watching some of the races again and again!

The Michael Phelps thing is tonight at 7pm. They start local coverage a little earlier I think but I don't know if it's national or not.

I'm bummed I can't make it to either of the Disney promotions in Philly or Baltimore :sad1: Although it doesn't seem like they are giving away all that much anyway so it's probably better I save my gas. I've been popping the balloons online every day and never pop anymore than 2.:headache:

Happy Friday!

I have a QOTD-

If money was not an issue.....what DW resort would you choose?

What would your dream vacation be?:cloud9:

Oooh. I think I'd probably go with the Contemporary, MK view, and a suite. If it has a kitchen, I'd probably stay there the whole time. i do get so tired of eating out, so if I can go for as long as I want, have anything... I'm gonna need a kitchen! I might also select the Platinum package, too... but if money's no object, who knows?! I may not need a package! ;)

Okay were booked into POR for our dates and the flight is booked too. ADR's have been made and I'm waiting for a code or dis discount (could we all cross our fingers for free DP:worship: ) The only thing that is giving me pause is the dates we choose....

Arrive Thurs Jan 8th @ 7:07 pm and leave Sun. Jan 18th @ 3:04. We are going to be dealing with marathon crowds and the first half of MLK weekend:eek: Someone please tell me that the marathon crowds won't be too bad...My DH prefers to go when it is less crowded and I have assured him that Jan is a slow time. We have only gone late Sept 16-22 2006 (CBR/WL) and Dec 1-9th 2007 (COR) and both time were light, so that is all I have to base crowds on.

I just hope the crowds work with us...fingers crossed!!!!

Becky

Hi Becky! :goodvibes

My DH and I are staying at POR about the same time you are! He is running the marathon, though. We went in 2005 (he was going to run but was injured) and found the crowds SO SO SO light all week.

Wow. I guess everyone has a life on Friday nights! :) Well, I've enjoyed my night in. My heat kicked in great and I had a great big mug of hot chocolate. Yum!

A life? What are you talking about? i was sick all night - I'm now down to 5 weeks and 6 days until my surgery and last night was one of those nights. You know, where you crank up the whine? ;)

I'm so excited because I'm get to see my little sister tomorrow!

I haven't seen my brother since July 2007. He was in Switzerland from August 07 through June 08 and we haven't been able to get together since then (we're about 13 hours apart!). I'm flying back to MA to visit my folks in... 4 weeks (hee. I should tell them I'm having surgery soon!) and my bro just emailed me and said he has to work that weekend so I may not get to see him. :confused3

Oh well.

I'm glad it's weekend - I slept just a hair over 9 hours and should be on the mend soon! DH has a half marathon race tomorrow, so we're leaving here about 5:45am (eek!) and college hockey starts today! We have season tickets, so we're pretty pleased by that. :)

Speaking of Michael Phelps, he was here in Ann Arbor last weekend, at the football game. hey, at least Michigan actually won. Maybe he should turn up for more?! ;)

Good Morning Snowbirds!!! Just wanted to pop on real quick and say hello. I have to start getting ready to go see my sis! I'm so excited! I'm driving with my big sis and my DD, so that will be fun. We'll be leaving here around 12:30 so we can get to Brockport (if anyone even knows where that is!) by the 2pm game. Well, time to go dig out the super warm clothes! Later!

Hi Snowbirds! Long time, no post for me.

I have a question: We're staying at the Wilderness Lodge and I am planning on bringing our swimming suits figuring the kids for sure will swim if the weather is at all warm. Do we need to bring beach towels or does the lodge provide them? TIA! :lovestruc

Have fun!!! We dug out the sweatshirts here so DH could take the kids running in the jogging stroller this morning. It's a chilly 63 right now and will only be around 80 today! I don't know what we're going to do when it's actually cold....:scared1:

Towels are provided! I think they are by the pool bar.

I hope you get to feeling 100% really really soon!! Wish your hubby good luck on his race tomorrow!!

I have a huge Michigan fan in my hubby (He grew up in Grand Haven, if I could show you my hand you'd know where LOL) I was so happy to see them finally win!!! Go Big Blue!!!

I wish it was going to be 80 today!!!! I'd even take 63 right about now. It's about 50 degrees right now, but it's sunny, so that's always good. I'm bringing our winter coats, hats and gloves with us. I enjoy watching field hockey, but it's so cold and windy at those wide open fields.

I think a giant snuggly beach towel would be better, though. The resort towels are just bath towels. If you go swimming when the weather is only in the 70's, it feels chilly when you get out. Towels are bulky though. We are planning to bring some, but since we're driving, we'll just pile 'em in there

I'd be content to have the 63. It's 51 right now but the high is only supposed to be 59.
I hate cold.
I hate snow.
I hate that it's dark at 6pm now.
Grrrrr....

Anyway...good morning everyone. I'm doing alright here. Lots of cleaning going on before work at 3ish. Have a great day everyone.

The day is winding down for me! I read more about Toy Story Mania according to TourGuide Mike. He has a page about it, but it isn't included in his sample plans for DHS yet. I wonder if he'll add it soon.

Looks like my day might look something like this: TSM first, get a FP, then ride standby and whatever time the FP says to return. Then head over to RnRC and ToT, grab a FP for whatever one is earliest, see something else and return, get the FP set for the second ride, ride them both. Grab another FP for RnRC if possible. The rest of the park can fit in around those 3 rides.

Since we aren't planning to watch Fantasmic, I'm thinking riding while everyone else is watching might be a possibility. The park is open until 9pm, so it seems like there will be time to ride while the show is going on.

Someone else mentioned that during Fantasmic just a few weeks ago, there was a 5 minute wait for RnRC!:thumbsup2

Don't know what we're doing tonight. I've got some e-mails to send...then it's like a game of Settlers of Catan and off to bed!
