Thanks, I have never used ebay and I have to admit I am a little nervous too. Any other tips other than making sure they are reputable??

We've ordered a couple of the vaulted movies from ebay. I think both were shipped from Malaysia. One was packaged in such a way that I'm certain Disney didn't receive any revenue from its sale... (but it worked until my kids stepped on it). The other one looked fairly officially packaged, but who knows. They both played fine (until the stepping, of course). Luckily the one that broke was Sleeping Beauty and that's about to come out of the vault!
:cool1:

The list by dates looks great Snykymom! Now when are you going to do the ADR list by dates???!!! :rotfl: That would be a tough one!

You can also buy it used from Amazon.com.

Hi - I'm an ebay buyer and seller, stuff to clean out from my basement, though. I don't have a business doing it or anything.

If you are nervous about ebay, then i would recommend Amazon. Both ebay and Amazon will help if you don't get what you want. I bought an old tape from a seller on Amazon and didn't receive it. He promptly refunded my money - they don't want to get kicked off or taken down from Amazon or ebay, so the majority are VERY good at what they do.

You could also make it a point to go to yard sales and flea markets. A lot of churches will be starting their holiday flea market/craft sale days. We also have local permanent farmer's/flea markets that sell used tapes. I paid $20 for used copies of Peter Pan, Sleeping Beautiy, Beauty & the Beast and a Timmy the Tooth video - all in a package. That's why we won't get rid of our VCRs - there's a lot of used stuff to be had out there.

Good Afternoon Snowbirds!! I just wanted to pop in and say I wish you all a great weekend!! My hubby leaves tomorrow morning early early so we are enjoying our day together..but couldn't resist a peek on here

Sharadoc..you'd be so proud my binder is done!! I'll take some pics and post them for you so you can see!!!

Enjoy your weekends and do something special!! See you all laters!!

It's 56 and sunny here, but warm up to the 70's. And then the cold hits...grrrrr. Seems like this may be the last nice day we have for a while and I have to work all day.:sad2: Oh well, money pays for Disney!:upsidedow

Have a great Saturday everyone!

Attention Snowbirds! For those who have not been in January - Crzyred's description is a good starting point of what to expect. Start out a little cool, in the 50's but get up into the 70's.

Compared to a summer day at Disney, a January day feels like heaven :cloud9:

So, crzyred, don't get TOO annoyed at it - it's your vacation weather :rotfl:

I am going to be so confused on what to pack! :scared: A little bit of everything I guess!

I was thinking that I would be wearing a short sleeve shirt with a light button up the front sweater over top and a jacket, and then I would shed layers as the day got warmer. Just not sure about the pants and shoes. Was thinking I would wear mostly capri's. But then if I wear sandals with them my feet will be freezing in the morning and evenings! I don't really like the looks of tennis shoes with my capri's. Any suggestions???

I know, such big worries in my life!! :lmao:

I'm thinking that I'm going to have to pack everything I own! I'm fine with wearing sandals (even when it's chilly out), but I'm going to bring sneakers too. I like Soleil's idea of the Ugg boots though. My fav things ever! With capris, I would definately wear sandals. I'm sure the Florida sun will warm up your feet quickly! :)

So are we planning any Snowbird meets or what??? :goodvibes Snykymom's lists have me thinking that there are so many Snowbirds that are going to be there the same time as me! I know it's hard to get everyone's schedules together though.

In May I was able to meet up with 3 other DISers for a CS lunch at DTD. It was a lot of fun to meet people I had been "talking" to for over a year! :goodvibes

Not to be a total downer, but did you hear that Paul Newman died? How sad.:sad1: He was such a great actor and I loved him as the voice of Doc Hudson in Cars. I'm also a big fan of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

I hadn't heard. How sad. He was such a great actor...and a gorgeous man!

Dance in the rain~
You are right!! I meant S & S !! I was sooo excited about it I put the wrong movie! Ha!! But, of course I have that P&P movie with Kiera Knightley as well. And the whole collection of Jane Austen books. Is she not the best?!?!?
She really is. I love her and Charles Dickens, their books are all so humorous.

Snowbirds, Yesterdays QOTD got me thinking about all of the disney movies and there is one movie that my son has not seen that I think he would love, The Lion King! I would love for him to see this movie but there is only one problem, regular stores dont sell it anymore because it is in the Disney Vault. Does anyone know a reliable place to purchase the dvd from at a good price?

I get all my used movies from CD Tradepost, Vintage Stock, or Hastings. Unfortunately, it's kind of hit or miss, but if you have a CD Tradepost near you I think they'll let you transfer stock from other stores to the store close to you. Unfortunately, since Disney movies do get put in the vault they maintain their prices more so than other movies, but you can find some good deals. All those stores have decent return policies too. If you buy something and it doesn't work, then you can return it and get your money back. I don't know if there are any near you though.

I would love to meet up at some point. We'll see though, as it will be my honeymoon I might be a bit distracted.

As far as what to pack-just keep checking that weather!! As per our experiences, the weather channel has missed it BIG every time we've gone. Last time we checked accuweather and weather underground and they were a lot closer. I also checked the local orlando fox weather and it was about the same as the two I mentioned.

We wore jeans and tennis shoes and packed our crocs--lighter packing:thumbsup2 And I don't like my kids having to put bare feet on the airport floor:eek: Yuck!! We brough those wind pant kinda things--they roll up great in luggage, a couple of long sleeve shirts and tees and shorts. Light jackets with hoods, for evenings and bathing suits. It started out damp and chilly, but around the 3rd afternoon, we were in shorts and tees. And I did break down and do capris with tennis shoes. Its okay at Disney!!!

Ha!! I would hope so!!:bride: :lovestruc What a wonderful honeymoon!! Me and my hubby will be married 15 years in April. I may have to think about honeymoon #2!! I think my kids would revolt!! Disney without them!!! They couldn't handle it!!!!
In all honesty, I may miss them too bad if I went without them.Where else would you girls go for a 15year anniv celebration?

What??? :scared1: You mean your new DH and your honeymoon are more important than the Snowbirds??? :lmao: :rotfl: Just kidding!

Hey, are you and your DH going to wear the Bride & Groom Mickey ears at the parks??? :bride: :groom:

Well we just went to WDW in May for our 10th anniversary and we took the kids with us!!! :goodvibes We rarely leave them at all. I just feel too bad. They would never forgive us if we went to WDW without them!

We have actually been talking about going away for a night this fall (after soccer is over). Considering the fact that the last time we went anywhere without them was in 2003 on our fifth anniversary I think we are long overdue! I just don't want to go too far. I know it should be easier to leave them the older they get, but for me it seems to get harder! I know, I'm weird!! :rotfl:

I'm in the middle, with my brother and sister Amy and Eric

Of course we're going to wear the Bride and Groom ears... I'm pretty sure I've already convinced Logan of it... maybe not... but he'll succumb when I tell him it's required.

I'm hoping to get a good day for us all to meet over the bridge in Liberty Square for the afternoon parade viewing. There's little tables and stools there and we can just swarm the area and take it over! If a few of us get there early enough, we can turn it into a Snowbird reserved spot. I may even call Disney to see if there's a way to reserve an area like that. Can't hurt to ask, right :confused3

I think it will be easier for those of us who will be there a little longer to give up some time to meet for a lunch or leisure time, so that's why I was thinking parade. That way, families will still have something to do while we Snowbirds meet and greet!

I do know there's enough of us at the All-stars to do our own meet, so I'm hoping to set up something there too, perhaps during the evening activities/movie. Once again, kids can be occupied, Snowbirds can have a cocktail ;)

I think once it gets closer and we all start to panic, then we'll be able to actually pick some dates, times and places. Until then, it doesn't quite seem real to me :rotfl:

I would love to meet up with fellow Snowbirds who will be around!! I already owe peaches a sticky bun LOL and I know Kim (Northern Disney) is going to be there while I'm there so I might have to hunt her down too!!!!

I'm going to miss Shelly by a day:guilty: That's the worst when you know you'll only be missing each other by a day!!!

Well man is here to fix my water heater, no hot water for the last week, then NDH (non-disney LOL) are going out to dinner before he decides to leave me for a week!!

I almost have the first two parts of my PTR done just have to send to my proofreader and then I can post them up!! YAY!! I'm going to launch the actual week the hubby left me to go hunting over my birthday and anniversary (Birthday is Thursday and Anniversary is Friday) so it will be fitting LOL!
