:) Thanks for all the nice welcomes :goodvibes I am so glad I found this board because my family thinks I am nuts with all the extensive planning. I just want my trip to be PERFECT! I actually don't know one person who has been to WDW??? Lots that have been to DL (including me) so it has been tough planning a trip when you don't have any feedback from people you can trust...so I am excited that I found some people who I can share all my details with :thanks:

I am about 30 mins. from the philly airport. traffic can be crazy around it. Ther eare many hotels right next to the airport. We thoguht about this if we fly jet blue.

Do you have any recommendations about a hotel near the Phila. Airport? We used to stay at the Hilton, which allowed you to park your car there for the duration of your trip. It has been a few years since we were there, though, and I don't know if they still allow that. We also stayed at a Holiday Inn one time and paid extra to park there for the trip. Anyone have recommendations?

Chiming in with another welcome and a request. Do you think you could make your font darker? I'm having a hard time reading your posts - that light blue is a little tough to see with my bad eyes :3dglasses

The extensive planning is a way of life here, so don't be shy. We LOVE to hear lots of details, ADRs, and anything else. Oh, and do you have a bin with stuff to take on your trip? Or maybe a binder? We LOVE that kind of stuff :lmao: Call me a squirrel I guess because I am NUTs with you

One bit of advice, though. Please don't try to be perfect. We're only human, and the best trip you can give your family will be one that is fun and full of love. I used to hate it when my mother planned out every day and every minute of vacation - the best times I had was when I went with my uncle and aunt who were more easy-going. You may not realize you're stressing out your family when you try to show them the "perfect" time. Okay, off my soapbox now.

Hi everyone! We will be in the world Jan26-29. We will be at POFQ with the deluxe dining plan and the we will be off for our first Disney Cruise!:yay:

:welcome: to the Snowbirds

I LOVE POFQ - been there at least 6 times, lost count! We LOVE to talk plans and details so fill us in on yours. Oh, and we like to celebrate for ANY reason. Just keep an eye out for this guy and report him to Peach3s IMMEDIATELY. He belongs to her: :dancer:

;)

This trip will be a combined birthday,Christmas and Mother's day trip for my mother. We have stayed at POR but never the FQ. I am hoping it sparks fond memories of when I actually lived in New Orleans. I think on this trip we will be eating our way around the world(showcase at least). Almost all of our ADR request to AAA are in EPCOT.

That sounds great - is it just you two? That will be a wonderful trip and I'm sure you'll make some precious memories together.

Where are your ADRs? Eating around the World sounds like a great plan!

You guys are so nice! :goodvibes Thanks for the welcomes!

I had to rush back from your Trip report, I'm reading from lastest trip and working my way back, however I had to detour because I saw the words avid Jane Austen fan!! ME TOO!!! I love her books and I'm currently reading Persuasion and just finished Mansfield Park!! Although I must admit my all time favorite is Pride and Prejudice!! Okay now I have definitely gotten way off topic I'm going to sneak back over to your TR and enjoy the silence that is my classroom during my planning break!

lol...I just finished rereading Persuasion! I love that one...actually, I love all of them!

And debbieanddroo...Colin Firth is the perfect Mr. Darcy! But my fav Austen hero is Mr. Tilney (from the iTV Northanger Abbey that came out a few months ago). :lovestruc

Alright, sorry for going off-topic! :rolleyes1 There are two things that get me really excited: Jane Austen and Disney!! :thumbsup2

You are TOO MUCH tonight! My dh is looking at me from across the room because I busted out laughing when I read about the obsessive compulsive bin and binder comment! Then I almost spit out my tea when I saw the creepy dancing guy- what was his name again? :rotfl:

And I'm glad you commented on not planning too much. We are more of the relaxed vacationers and I thought maybe we've been doing it wrong by not following a minute by minute itinerary. Last time we went we didn't even know what park we wanted to go to each day. Sometimes we decided based on which bus came first! We have a few adr's and we'll have to stick to them but beyond that we kind of just go with the flow and enjoy it.

DISCO DALE!!!!! :scared1: The mere mention of his name sends Snowbirds scurrying for cover :rotfl:

Hey Snowbirds!!

I haven't been around much lately, but I'm still here! No exciting Disney news to report, but guess what!?

I'm on school holidayyyyyys! Yahoooo! I'm a teacher here in Australia, and we have 2 weeks off!! Yayyyyyyy!!!

I think this calls for some Disco Dale celebrations...

:dancer:

I noticed that you have a 1 & 4 year old. Did you go with the flow when you trave with them?

I have to say that I am not normally a planner but with WDW you almost have to book your ADR's 180 in advance, ever since then I can't stop planning. I only planned my ADR's, what day in each park (to go with the ADR's) & extra activities. I am trying not to go over board but it's HARD. I want to do everything and I know this will most likely be our only trip to WDW so I want to make sure I do it right.

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Welcome back - I've wondered how you were doing!

Wonderful news about your house and your electricity - thanks for keeping us posted, we've been a little worried about you and a lot praying for you....

Ohhh!! Your so sweet!! I have missed ya'll soooooo bad!!! It's like a support group:rotfl: Well, we are home now & I am just getting to check all the emails and stuff. So--I have a lot to read and catch up with ya'll! Thank you for praying for me! God is so good. We went down to Bridge City today-dh already has a crew over there working on a house that flooded. This guy just moved in a few months back---in the whole city limits of Bridge City, they are reporting that only 15 houses did NOT flood. This town isn't huge, it's a smaller community, but even the towns all around it suffered a lot of the same. Lots of flooding there. Its was so sad driving through there--house after house with all they own out at the road due to water damage, just stacked up waiting for the ins. adjusters to come out. We were so very blessed!!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so excited to be going back to Disney. We will be there Jan. 16 - 25. Staying for the second time at Pop Century. We will have the dining plan again and I have already made our reservations. I have even began to start packing...just some summer things that we won't need until Disney.

Also, I was wondering about Photopass sharing. I posted a thread on the Budget Board (called January Photopass). I would be interest in joinning one, but I don't anything about how it works or gets started.

I'm really glad to hear you guys are okay but it is so sad to hear about all of the others so adversely affected by all this. I have some friends who were close to NO when Katrina hit - their families were okay but it took a long time to recover from it all. I hope things move quickly for the folks in your neck of the woods.

And I hope our little support group cheers you up -- lots of partying going on!
Maybe I'll start a little one in your honor....

party: :rockband: party: [Disco Dale isn't invited to this one - you've been through enough already!]

How can you forget his name? He's unforgettable!:lmao:

I step away from the computer for just a few hours and you guys go hog wild, letting Disco Dale out of his holding cell and what not! I can't leave you guys alone for a second!:sad2: :rotfl:
