I am around, too! All the neighborhood kids are running back and forth between my house and the neighbor's. It gets a little crazy but I love to see them outside playing. We spent the morning doing some back to school clothes shopping. It gets a little harder every year, doesn't it? My DD 7 has some definite opinions on what she will wear. And what she won't. We are going to hit Target for backpacks maybe tomorrow. By the way, if you haven't checked out the dollar section you should. They have guitar shaped lip gloss for HSM or Hannah Montana. Not sure what else. I try and pay attention at work to the stuff I see in the backroom, but I have been busy back there lately!! Can you say halloween? We are getting the decorations and the candy in already. We are starting to strategize for Christmas, too! Scary, isn't it? But I know the faster christmas comes, the faster Disney comes!   Have a good day!

Yes our trips are getting so much closer!! :cool1:

I really think the time is going to fly once school starts. My kids go back in 2 weeks, soccer starts in 2 weeks, when soccer season is over we will be into Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then DISNEY!!!!! :woohoo:

Oh, I'm so glad you said your stuff about Target. I could not, for the life of me, remember who worked there. Whew! I went there yesterday and the dollar section was looking a bit bare, ours must be changing everything over. Didn't see any Hannah or HSM stuff. :confused3

Trixie-

The stuff is supposed to transfer over the week of 8/17 which is this week. Our store was in the process of it yesterday so your store might be behind a bit. Our planagram team (the ones that re-set new stuff) is really on the ball so our store sets before most. If you don't see it soon, let me know. I will look it up in our system and see what I can find out for you.

Well the last of the kids just went home. I made it through the day!! :goodvibes

Tomorrow is the PTO swim party. Luckily I do not have a pool so it is not here!! :rotfl:

I had a DW dream last night. I was the only one there having a great time. I told my FI about it, he wasn't too happy...he told me I should "Lay off the Disney stuff" and that "you're more excited about this trip, then the wedding." :rotfl2:

Guess he's right! I would much rather go to DW then have to have this big wedding, that I really didn't want to have! lol.

So I totally missed out on the whole dining reservation discussion! I'm so excited about all the yummy places we'll be eating so MUST share:

Monday: Casual dining as we all arrive at different times.
Tuesday the 20th: Chef Mickey’s: Contemporary Resort.
Wednesdaythe 21st: Le Celier: Epcot.
Thursday the 22nd: Polynesian Luau: Polynesian Resort:
Friday the 23rd: Sci-Fi Dine In: Hollywood Studios:
Saturday the 24th: Yak and Yeti: Animal Kingdom.
Sundaythe 25th: 50’s Diner: Hollywood Studios:
Monday the 26th: Hoop Dee Doo Revue: Fort Wilderness.
Tuesday the 27th: No reservations as we'll probably all be gone by breakfast.:sad1:

I'm so excited by all these places, especially the dinner shows. Our travel agent says Yak and Yeti, the Luau, and Hoop Dee Doo are not open for reservations yet. I'll feel much better once those are reserved! :woohoo:

Hello Snowbirds from the land of Oz... I just spent an hour catching up on what you've all been up to - we've all had the flu so haven't been feeling up to :surfweb: Funning thing is you're all counting down to the kids going back to school, while I'm counting down to our September Holidays (2 week break, but 3 weeks to go before it starts).

First up - Shelley, can you please change my ADR's

Jan 4 - Boma AKL 6.15pm
Jan 7 - nothing here anymore
Jan 8 - Jiko AKL 5.50pm

We deicided the restaurant we were most looking forward to eating at was Jiko, and would much rather spend our anniversary dinner (& $$$) here than at CRT, which is why we re-arranged things. I know I left my heart in Africa when we came back to Oz to live, so am really looking forward to our meals at AKL, (if only the budget stretched far enough to stay there - I wish!!!). We still have a lunch ADR at CRT on our final day for my DDs, so us girls can dine in the castle and feel like princesses for a day (with my lovely prince charming beside us).

Here's some pictures for all you All Star Snowbirds!! :cool1:

Where at ASMo is RC parked? We're spending our first night there as my girls (even though they're 9 & 11 now), are still big Toy Story fans. In fact Woody & Jessie, who the Disney Fairies delivered to our rooms when we were there way back in 2001, still sleep with the girls each night. Woody actually just got a new shirt as the sleeves of the original became unrepairable - he now has a very snazzy red checked shirt, complete with gold star buttons, custom sewed (in place) to fit! Jessie's going to need a new shirt too before our trip I think.

Hey I just looked at my ticker and realized that -

I am going to Disney in 5 MONTHS!!!!! :cool1:

As of tomorrow, we only have FOUR months to go!!!!! It all seems a bit surreal actually. Gotta go and arrange new passports for us all soon - our others were issued through the embassy in South Africa the 'old fashioned way', so don't have the bar codes etc. If we don't get the new style ones, I know we'll be held up going through immigration and that's the LAST thing I want.

I'm off now to go & swallow some more cold & flu pills so I can get thru the day. Then reading with DD9s Yr5 class - will be great fun as it's book week here and today they got to go to school dressed as their favourite book character (a change from the usual school uniform). DD9 went as a 'fairy school dropout' (funky jeans, sparkly top, multicoloured hair, wand not fully charged, and wings showing in full view of humans - oh the horror  ). DD11 went as the 'Imperial Dragonkeeper' from her favourite book series(i.e. chinese tunic, pants, hair in bun and a sword & fan in her sash). After that it's baking time ready for DH's 40th birthday party tomorrow. Whew!!

So have a good day Snowbirds one and all.

Steeler Country Trivia: Name 2 attractions in WDW that name Pittsburgh prominently........

In one of the father's monologues in Carousel of Progress, he states Pittsburgh by name. The second, look at the name plate on the scenery holding the Andrew Carnegie animatronic from the American Adventure show. It is Pittsburgh. Always nice to see a little bit of home in Mouseland!

Where at ASMo is RC parked?

If you go out the back of the Cinema Hall/Food Court and turn left towards the Toy Story buildings, RC will be directly in front of you (before you walk into the "Andy's Room" courtyard). Our kids love RC and it's a definite photo opp every year.:thumbsup2

Good Evening Snowbirds!

It's been a while since I've checked in. Things are hectic lately. We are preparing for a big birthday bash for DS. He's turning 4 on Tuesday:cake:

I've been making race cars and checkered flags . . . table cloths, bean bags. It's actually kind of taken my mind off of Disney for a few days :scared1:

So, how are everyone's plans going? Is there any word yet as to whether or not there will be any Pirate and Princess Parties happening in January?

Oh! I got my Baggallini this week! I love it already. It is going to be perfect for all of my gear for taking around the parks.

Hi everyone! I've had such an awful day! I cried all morning from stress and then this afternoon I found out my Grandpa is having an emergency, life-threatening surgery tomorrow. DH decided to take me out to dinner to cheer me up. When we got out of the restaurant, I noticed that someone had stolen the emblem off my car. GRRR!!!! There goes $200 down the drain!

The good news of the day..... I got the 2009 Unofficial Guide. :)

Have a good night!

Aw, BellaSoleil  I'll keep your grandfather in my thoughts!!

My husband today announced "I only have 20 weeks until the marathon!!" and I, see, went "I only have 20 weeks until Disney!!" Of course, it's scary to think that my annual trip to Atlanta will be done, a trip to my folks, Thanksgiving, Christmas, my birthday... and then Disney!! :)

I haven't been around much - my boss is out of town, so I can waste time in a less productive looking way. She and everyone else will be back next week, though.

Of course, my good friend and I are already planning a possible February trip (is that bad? two trips in two months?). So it's like DOUBLE-fun!! We're meeting up this weekend (we live ~5 hours apart) so maybe we'll make some decisions.

(I had a mole removed last week that was ugly but it was only ugly but it the wound still hurts. Whine.)

Hello Snowbirds~~I have been away for awhile. Since getting back from Florida, life has just been crazy!!! It makes me more excited to go back and relax!!! We start school next Thurs and am looking forward to getting back into a routine around here. With 4 kids, coming and going at all times is getting exhausting.
My DH has worked every day since vacation, so I am pretty much on my own to keep things going. My DS is in football season now, so games every weekend, but we all love FB!!!:goodvibes
My sister is coming Sat to visit with my 1 yr old niece who I haven't seen in over a year. I am busy trying to get the house in decent order!!!:laundy:

Here is the exciting news, I booked my July trip for 2009. :cool1: I booked AKL hoping to switch to Beach Club for 5 nights and then go to Vero Beach for 3 nights.
I wanted to let you know those that have Hoop Dee Doo and Whispering Canyon booked they were 2 of our favs!!!! Also, JIko was by far the best Signature Dining I have been to and possibly one of the most beautiful restraunts . The Luau was a bit of letdown for us, but we had really bad seats and not a very good server, but my kids were begging to go during the show.

Take care all and I will try and get caught up around here!! Evie

My sister is named Evie! (DD1 1/2 calls her "BeeBee") :goodvibes

Thanks for the report on HDD and WC. I alway return to HDD. I love the show and I love the food! The fried chicken and strawberry shortcake are so good! I went to the Luau when I was 14 and don't remember it at all. (Which says alot to me.)
