What is a Disney pin code?:confused3

It's a special offer from Disney that you usually get through the mail or email. Usually in the form of a pin number and good for a certain amount off of your trip or free upgraded tickets or something like that.

That's what I'm waiting for (and hoping for :wizard: )before converting my room ressie to a package. Last year I got a great offer for January, it came in October. Unfortunately I wasn't able to use it.

The only problem is that all that I have bought are t shirts and it may be too chilly for them. Gotta find some sweatshirts now for layering;)

Been wondering about this too! I'm going to be making lots of t-shirts for matching days at the park. But will we get our wear out of t-shirts? Or should I look into long-sleeve t-shirts for January? But then what if it's too hot?

See how my mind drives me crazy?:lmao:

We got our car today! I don't know how many of heard my story, but we have been without a car for more than a month. I knew when we finally got one it would be so amazing and we would be so grateful. The kids decided to call her Blessie, short for blessing, because she is a gift from God! :goodvibes It feels great to have a car again! She really is a blessing! Hope all you snowbirds are doing well! I think I'm under 4 months until my Disney trip now!!!!

We are on the Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin borders. I love the Lake Superior area. we love to go up to Gooseberry Falls & Split Rock Lighthouse area.

Last year we wore T's all the time but we had our sweatshirts to put on overtop first thing in the am & after dark. But you might not want to judge by us. When we left home the actual temp was -15 below & windchill was -45. When we hit the Smokie Mnts. at breakfast time my kids were running around w/no coats on thinking they were in heaven. It was 30 out:rotfl: .

Isn't it funny how (for those of us in the northern states) when we get a 50 degree day in the middle of the winter we think it is so great and are running around in short sleeves saying how "warm" it is? But when it went down to 60 last week I was freezing!! :rotfl:

Hey Y'All! Hope everyone is having a great day! The weather we are having today is what me thinks it might be like in Disney in January! It is about 15 degrees Celsius, sunny and a bit windy! Truth be told I am really hoping it will be more like 20 degrees or hotter with no wind and lots of beautiful Florida sunshine! :cool1: Nevertheless, I will be prepared for anything! :)

QOTD - Most likely runners (Saucony) or my Sandals (Bite). I am not a fasionista at all like our BellaSoleil, I am totally in it for comfort and support! :)

I have a busy afternoon today so most likely won't be back until late but hope everyone has a super afternoon! :)

Aww. Aren't you just the sweetest! :flower3:

Welcome to the  Snowbirds!

I know... I have my moments. ;)

Welcome!!

We'll be there at the same time! Where are you staying!?

I'm only just going to miss Trixiequilts as well... Let's start a petition that says she should come to WDW a few days earlier!!

Consider the petition started!

I'll post at the end of this with all the pertinent info, but we'll be at ASMusic Family Suites... even though I've been TOYING with the idea of a move partway through the week to a Deluxe, I can't bring myself to commit to it because, well frankly because there are so MANY of us I'm afraid we'd be miserable instead of enjoying the move! (Too cramped?...)

:welcome: to all the new Snowbirds!! I will get you all added to the list!! :thumbsup2

Feel free to jump right in and chat with us. We are here everyday chatting about Disney, and our families, and shopping, and eating, and just life in-general, oh and more Disney!! :rotfl: :goodvibes

Thank you! It is way to interesting to be reading of everyone's plans and keep seeing the January dates! I keep reading people's PTR's and seeing dates for October and Christmas... this will be great!

My DH and I will be there the same time (arrive late on the 9th and leave early on the 17th) - we'll wave! :)

For sure! I'm crossing my fingers to at least get a glimpse of another DISer!

They like me, they really like me!!! Seriously, I'm feelin' the DISlove this morning. :grouphug: Which is great timing as I've been up all night with a pukey sick DD6. Now DH just said he isn't doing well :sad2: , it's gonna be a long day...

You know I got so busy with everyone here at the house this morning I didn't log on, but when I read this morning about your weekend I was SO feeling your pain!

Hi -- Welcome to the snowbirds!

I've really enjoyed lurking on your pre-trippie! Your planning energy [even with four kids] is amazing....

Thank you! Feel free to jump in over there- I love sharing my plans with everyone!

And for those who are part of the WDW Tub Support Group... here's mine  (and I added one more thing to it Friday after the pic was taken- I need a bigger tub!) I didn't realize I had pciked up so many tshirts for my dd until I pulled it all out for a picture. Perhaps I'll keep a copy of the pic with me so I don't grab stuff I don't need while shopping from now on.:rotfl:

wdwtub.jpg

Inside the tub are all of the toiletries in organized gallon bags and outside is everything else I've grabbed along the way!

I love that! I am well on my way to needing a Tub Support Group! This will be our very FIRST trip to the World and I learned very early on how quickly a tub can fill up!

Okay so I guess I should share travel info as well: My husband, myself and our four kids will be at ASMusic Family Suites from January 10-18th! (I really am toying with the idea of moving partway through the week, but I'm too concerned about being in ONE ROOM with the whole lot of us and wanting to hurl myself from the balcony before the first day is through...)

ADR's... oh, do I have ADR's!

We're on the Deluxe Dining Plan, which my family is VERY excited about (appetizers and desserts twice a day? YES PLEASE)! We'll probably grab breakfast at the Intermission Cafe at ASMusic most mornings so we can eat uber early (we always rise early anyway) and get to the parks first thing. I'm still debating about filling in some of the blanks of our lunches... I'll probably throw Yak and Yeti in there on the 12th, and maybe Tony's on the 14th but I haven't decided yet!

True True!! My son went looking for his winter coat last night cause he heard it would on ly get to 55 today. :lmao: This is the child that will sled ride for hours on end when its in the teens. What a goof.

Capris are what I wore the whole time we were there last year. I usually wore capris, a tank top w a light weight shirt or jacket, carried my sweatshirt & wore my skeecher tennies or skeecher mary janes. I figure whatever it is I usually wear to walk & stand in here at work for ten hours should do me good at the parks.

Plans look great! :goodvibes I just got them added to our ADR list!

Answer to the QOTD:

I wear Nike running shoes (Jungas, Air Max 360's etc.); my Husband does Nike Max Motos or Air Pegasus. We tend to be a bit more function over fashion (both of us are ex-college athletes, and I heavily stress EX!:) ) and prefer running shoes at WDW over flip flops, crocs etc. (although I do own and love both).

But if you plan on wearing flip flops you should be okay. The few times we have been in January the weather has been a crap shoot. We’ve had it in the 60’s and 80’s, but for the most part it’s been pretty comfortable. We tend to be in shorts, capris, short sleeve shirts, possibly a light coat for the night. Of course 60 degrees is swimming weather for us.;)

I'm with all the northerners who think 60 is swimming weather! I'd love it to be about 60-70 for the duration of my trip!

Of course, it just dawned on me. I'm a PA girl. We get hard winters. Anything above freezing is hot. :lmao: But my kid are Palestinians! When it snowed here last year, you'd have thought they were going to die of hypothermia! So, what seems comfortable to me is actually cold for them. Not my oldest dd. Maggie is always hot. She'll enjoy the swimming pool no matter what. But the rest of 'em? Oi. January might be sweatshirt weather after all!:confused3

Praise God, peach3es!!!!! That is great news! I know things will be alot better for your family now. I love "Blessie"! Too cute!

Haha! When the temp drops down to 70 here, I'm pulling out my winter coat!:lmao: I get cold so easily! I'll be the goober running around Disney in long sleeves and UGG boots in 70 degree weather. Just promise you all won't make fun of me! You are my friends, remember?!?! :thumbsup2

I own the coffeeshop I always am at work :lmao: No I do own run & work at my shop kaytescoffee.com is my website & myspace/kaytescoffee my DH is updating both spots right now as we speak. Pays to marry a graphic artist.:lovestruc

hmm favorite drink? 100% Pure Kona Beans sitting on the beach watching the sunrise. oh sorry flashback to Jan vacation 2 years ago.:rolleyes1 I am well known for my mochas & americanos. But my kiddos love my frozen coffee drinks when they come to work w momma:woohoo:

QOTD- We go for comfort over fashion any day around my house! Tennis shoes for all of us!

Been wondering about this too! I'm going to be making lots of t-shirts for matching days at the park. But will we get our wear out of t-shirts? Or should I look into long-sleeve t-shirts for January? But then what if it's too hot?

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one worried about what to pack- I thought I was the only one in worry mode at 4 months out. I hate not having control and knowing what the weather may be. All the other times we've gone there's been no question- shorts and tank tops. Perhaps some capris and a light sweater/jacket for evening but that was it.
This will be our first visit in Jan. and I'm already losing sleep at night over what to pack. If it's warm enough for shorts should I buy them now for my kids b/c what fit them this summer may not fit in Jan.

And congrats on the car Peach3es!!!:car:

I'm planning on pack short sleeve tops with long sleeve tops to wear underneath, if needed. Also a winter coat (just in case) and flip flops (just in case.) Hehe! I don't think we will really know until we are there.:goodvibes

If the weather is anything like it is here, one day will be 40 degrees and the next will be 80. (That's how winter goes in Louisiana. Boo!)

You just described the summer we just had up here!!!:scared: :rolleyes1

I like a t-shirt with a button down over top (chambray/denim type shirt) and/or a turtleneck or long sleeve shirt under it. Zipper hoodies over top of that if you want to show your t-shirt, or Disney pullover sweatshirt over top of all of these! Layer, layer, layer :lmao:

We bought a few Disney sweatshirts over time on our January trips, so I have Mickey and Pluto building a snowman (winter only - no Christmas), multiple Goofy faces and embroidered Mickey, so DH and I are set. Kids are going to need one good Disney sweatshirt each and we should be set.

I don't think you'll need a winter coat unless you want to go back to your room and get it late at night. If you get cold easily, you may want it on an Illuminations or late EMH park night, but usually you can get by with the layers.

Sadly the coffee isn't good enough, but there's always tea or hot chocolate to sip if you're chilly!
