Hi, I have been wondering the same thing? Flip flops for me here in Pa. till my tosies say put them away.

I like to wear my flip flops too! It's especially fun to wear them to Epcot and you can feel the breeze on your feet when you ride Soarin!

Will it be too cold in January for Flip Flops?

And the wipes are from Walmart/Target both carry them around here. I also have them in Pooh and Cars. We use them not only for my dd tush but also to clean our hands throughout the day so I grabbed quite a few packs for the week.

This made me giggle. I am apparently a 12 year old boy and find pooh comments quite funny...:rotfl:

I am not lucky enough to have a tub, although I should get one. I have a drawer (well, drawers) in my guest room that houses all of my Disney Treasures. They are filling up quickly. I added Dropps to the drawer today. I will now be able to laundry while I am there, lucky me...

QOTD:

I love that y'all have already decided what shoes to wear, 4 months out -- me, too! Shelly, I did buy those shoes - the Keens I sent you a link for a few weeks ago. They were on sale! And I got a rebate from a credit card to boot! So it'll be the Keens and my tennies for me. I had bought some very comfy sandals - sort of a cross between Tevas and what you might see in a nursing home. Apparently my puppy has recently developed a taste for that type of thing so he, unbeknownst to me, got hold of one shoe, chewed a little of that one. I thought - hey, everyone knows I have a dog and should be used to my chewed-up footwear! Then, this past weekend, he managed to snag the other one and, by the time he finished [or I finished him!], there was little but the sole left. :sad1:

Laughing at the wardrobe choices between the north and the south. Like Bellasoleil, Memphian me was thinking -- should I take my fleece jacket? Then pack a pair of gloves and a cap? And wear a shirt underneath my Disney T's? And long underwear, too?

Actually I was kidding about the long underwear...kinda sorta...

And Carrie, you never cease to amaze me -- just breezily learning Arabic while you work, take care of all those kiddos, travel all over the place, and plan your Disney vacation.....

Congratulations on your new Blessie -- I'm sure you all will never get over what a blessing that car is considering how long you've had to wait for it!

Were you able to find the Dropps in a store? I looked at my Target the other day and couldn't find any. :confused3

I found them on Walmart.com but I did not buy them there. I had not tried them at the time and instead went to the Dropps website and contacted them asking if they had trial packages. They were able to ship 4 to me for just over $1 in stamps for postage. Walmart.com does still have them and they are 4.47 for a package of 20. I think they are GREAT for travelling.

...and thanks for making me feel better about my sense of humor. I think I am funny, but oddly, some people don't... :-)

Congrats on the car Peach3es!! :cool1:
Thanks!:goodvibes

:goodvibes This morning, when it was time to take the kids to school, I started jumping up and down. We have a car! We have a car! :rotfl2: Blessie has already made our lives that much easier. Of course, that meant that our youngest was at preschool about 15 minutes early since we didn't have to walk or coordinate a pick-up!:rotfl:

As for planning the Disney vacation in the midst of the other life chaos, that's my sanity! I told Scot if I didn't have Disney to think about when times get tough, I don't think I'd make it through the next few months! And whenever life seems overwhelming (like when I realize I have to wrap up our work here and find someone to sublet our apartment and pack and get ready to go to the US for 4 months), I just say out loud, "Think Disney! Think Disney!" Then I run here for a few minutes of Disney fun with you all!:cheer2:

Now, sadly...Arabic calls! Ciao for now, Snowbirds!

Hi! Just found this thread. My name is Deb, and I live in Alaska...in a town called Wasilla...ever heard of it??? :rotfl:

I'm taking 3 of my 5 kids by myself to Disney in January...January 26-February 10. Usually I take all 5, but oldest just started college, and second oldest has sports, so it's just me and younger ones.

We'll be staying onsite at POP. I'm so excited!!!

Nice to "meet" you!

Welcome Blestmom!!! How cool to be from Wasilla(sp?)!! You are gonna love this thread!! Glad you found us!!

I didn't notice the title on the bin either! :rotfl:

I swear I heard a choir of angels when I found those zip locks... my three girls will be in HEAVEN! I'll have to make a Walmart/Target run this weekend to find the travel wipes.

The wipes are Huggies brand if that helps :)

I giggled just making the reservations... I'd like to make reservations for the Pooh breakfast at the Crystal Palace please! :rolleyes1 Deep down we are all giggly kids at heart- otherwise why would we get so excited about WDW:wizard:

And what are Dropps?

Wasilla:lmao: How does it feel to all of a sudden have your town be so famuos?

Just wanted to say welcome! You'll be in WDW for some of the same time as me;)

Hey, there, crazy cats! Well, Arabic didn't kill me! It's 6th grade grammar. Oh, boy. It's HARD! I feel sorry for these kids!:lmao:

Got to drive in the new car again today. Having never owned anything near a new car, Blessie is blessing our socks off. We haven't removed the plastic from the seats for the floor yet because we want to get seat covers and extra mats. So, it's very sterile. :rotfl2:

As for Disney, boy I can't wait until some codes for January start coming out! It will be fun to celebrate with all who are able to use them! I'm really hoping for a pin code. Who mentioned that they got their January code in October but couldn't use it. Shelly? That will frustrate me to no end...so, here's hoping we can all use every code we get!

And now I'm conflicted about footwear. I'm afraid that crocs will fall off on any ride where our feet might dangle. But I'm not sure I want to be confined to sneakers. Yuk. We'll be buying the kids some new sneakers during the Jewish new year at the end of this month (great sales here), so they won't be in great shape come January. I was thinking of getting them new shoes for Christmas, but that only gives us about a week and a half to break them in and check for any pressure points.

Yes, I worry about the important things! But, after reading the Unofficial Guide, I'm starting to think that good shoes ARE the most important thing about enjoying a Disney vacation. I can't imagine walking around the parks with a whining kid (or grown up) complaining about sore feet. That would really stink! So, I guess I should really be putting some thought into this!:rolleyes1

What are these tubs full of stuff I'm reading about? Stuff you all are gathering for your January trip? What kinds of stuff are you filling them with? FOrgive me if this is a repeat! Every once in awhile I miss a few posts and then feel completely lost!

Hope you all are well!
~~Carrie

And what are Dropps?

Dropps are little pouches of laundry detergent. You "drop" them into the washer and the pouch disintregrates. I really like them for travelling. I used to keep any sample detergent packages to take with me, and then along came Dropps. :lovestruc

I always end up doing laundry on vacation. Momma never gets a real vacation...;)

SO, it is just 6am in Washington State. The sun is beginning to come up. About 1.5 hours ago, I heard noises in the bathroom, which is NEVER good. My 12 yo is sick. THEN I hear the dreaded words NO mother wants to hear... "Mom, I missed..." GROSS!!! SO, 45 minutes later, I have cleaned everything up, sent him back to bed, scrubbed the skin off my hands, and I sit down to DIS. Because I can. My DH conviently waits until the coast is clear, uses the bathroom & goes back to bed. Not a word to me. Hmmm... How is it that he did not hear ANY of that and then wakes up just as all the work is over? This is obviously not Disney World. There is NO magic here today! :wizard:

ETA: I know this is a yucky post, I just needed to share the gross-ness of what I had to endure this morning already. And I know that you all understand... Thanks!

Been there, done that. We made it through! If it works like my house, everyone will get it, but it only lasts a couple of days. Good luck, take care of yourself because nobody else will clean up after you when it's your turn! :sad2:
