January 2008 Code Watch

Do you think they will release a general public "room only" code? Just trying to decide if it is worth going after the code. Mainly because I already have my tickets from UT, and I would have to return them and pay a restocking fee. :confused3

Thanks Laura,

I did see that one of the water parks will be closed for our trip. We're not really planning on going to a water park, I think it really depends on the weather. It sounds like the weather at that time of year can be all over the place, so we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the tip though!

The thing I got in the mail from my Disney Visa said that this offer was going public Nov 1st... so it should be public already I am guessing

Should have read that better~ I read right over the "room only" part. Sorry I will be quiet :rolleyes1

It is for Visa cardholders, and FL residents. I haven't seen any for General Public. Maybe it will come out later today. The FL resident one came out while I was at work.

I actually applied the Visa code to my reservation on Monday, no problem. Being new to this, I also called this AM to see if I could apply the code for the general public, as well. The woman I spoke to was very nice, and checked my ressie to see if I could receive additional savings. She came back and said that the codes were actually one and the same, even though they had different lettering. She said it was for marketing/statistical purposes, so that they could differentiate and see where they were getting the most response from. I still have not received my e-mail confirmation from my changes on Monday morning. One of the CM's that I spoke to about this said that I would not until I paid off the balance on my package @ the 45 day mark. Oh well...

Hi -

they wouldnt let me apply the code to the end part of my trip since our check in is 12/30 and we are staying through 1/6- im so bummed!!! does this sound right to everyone????

thanks, wendy

Called back and changed our res. Used the ZVX code. We cancelled the dining plan after seeing how Disney gutted it. 7 nights, 2 adults, 1 9yr with park hopper and waterparks, total cost 1709. Before with the DP and w/o the water parks it was 2612, so I think we got about 300 off. Very nice deal.

Also, it looks like there are no moderate or value resorts left for 1/19 - 1/26

In regard to the dining plan, after crunching the numbers, there is no way it is worthwhile for us. It's a break even at best, and then we have to deal with it.

tell me what you think!
we currently have ASMo
cheking in the 6-17th jan
6 MYW + basic dinning
3 adults 1 6yo child

with the code applied this orning we are at $3158 as of right now

i was looking at the site with the code already applied to which ever resorts are left and here is what i found
i can get the same excat thing BUT at caribean beach
for a total of $3,178.38

should i switch?

I have a 7-day AAA reservation at GF in early January using the AAA discount for room only. I called today and had them apply the ZVX code to see if I would save any money compared to buying 7 day MYW tickets a' la carte to go along with my room. It actually priced out about $20 higher for the week. I realize the package also includes the water parks but we won't use them in January so I can't really place much value on that freebie. To me, the savings would have had to have been significant to give up the extreme flexibility of a room only reservation versus a restrictive package. Maybe some other combination of length of stay, resort, etc. would have produced a different result.

Only $20 more for a Moderate? Should you switch? Heck yes! :)

This is the same thing that is now online for me also. Still no e-mail, but I still have my original confirmation number from when I booked in August.

That is what mine says, too. I didn't understand why it said ERROR for ticket type. Should we be worried?

't received an email confirmation. The only problem is on the new reservation, for ticket type, it says ERROR. Has anyone encountered this?

There is a whole thread on this. We all show error for ticket type, no DDP shows either, and I haven't gotten email or fax confirmation--I've called 3 times. I guess they are all backed up.

Is there or is there not an AP rate for January yet? All of these pins and codes and offers out there - there doesn't seem to be a simple old fashion AP code. Or did I miss it?

Are you SURE its only $20 more for a moderate? Did you add the dining on there?
I know for my 10 days a mod would be about $550 more. I think you forgot to add dining on the package??

Edited to say - Racheltori i just put in your dates on the special and got $4068.21 for CBR.

Well, after a lot of back and forth with Marla at Dreams (Sue Ellen, lucky duck, is on a cruise), she is saving me ~135 off my AAA rate at YC, plus adding the water park and more option. Our rack rate package would have been: 2523.56 rack rate, ~$2300 with AAA, and we're paying 2165.40 with the code and adding the water parks. So we're saving about $350 off rack rate, whoo hoo! I'm pleased! :goodvibes:

Get this...I walk into my Tas AAA office this morning at 8:29 (open at 8:30) with code in hand. My TA is off work that day and next week is going to change jobs. Guess where she is going? Disney world in Orlando! She is very good and I don't blame disney for snapping her up. She moves down in two weeks.

I emailed TA last night with the code (was out at 11:38 when i checked) and she hasn't emailed back yet....:confused3 getting a little worried and VERY anxious.... Also didn't have time to call as I had to work a 12 hour shift.... SOOOOO...... all who were successful please send some pixie dust my way!!! Does anyone happen to know (tried to use code or just know) if there are rooms left at POR that can be used with the code?? Thanks if anyone knows!!
