January 2008 Code Watch

I'm up at 6:30 getting ready to start calling CRO in order to get through at 7am and try to apply code ZWA to our ressies. Actually priced an AKL package last night and it works out to be almost same price.... So i wouldn't save anything but I could upgrade from POR to AKL with money back.

I'm soo happy for all of your who are getting discounts! For those of you who are having trouble, I hope things flip in your favor very soon!

I'm not planning a trip this year... but next year. I'm torn as to whether I want to free water parks & more to be offered again, because I would really LOVE trying DisneyQuest, but I'm also planning on a Upgrade to an Annual Pass once I get there (planning two trips for the year), and if I use a DisneyQuest admission I can only upgrade to Premium. I guess I have a year to decide! I love having options!

Hello,

I have not seen it mentioned before, but when I applied my Canadian code ZWE I saved around $1200, but they said that I would not have the photo pass with that. Is anybody having the same experience with losing the Photo Pass option when they apply a code? I am not too concerned about losing photopass, just curious.

:confused3

Just popping in to say thanks! I called last night and applied the AP code to my reservations at POR 1/10-14/2008 and got the room for $99 a night. For the first time, I actually feel like I'm getting a deal at Disney. WOOT!!

Just for fun--I quoted my exact trip that I booked over the phone on Monday using the Disney website ---and it came out over $300 higher for the same thing. (and that was with the code)

So--I would use the phone to make ressies! :thumbsup2

I was really hoping for a room only code since I already have tickets from our trip in August. We do have a AAA discount so that helps and maybe a room-only code wouldn't be any better than AAA. I'm glad the hopper+ is a good deal for many of you.

Yesterday I used the code ZVX for 8 nights 7 days plus parkhoppers for 3 adults and 2 children for a family suite and the total cost was $2445.74.:cool1:

I was told the code wouldn't work on a family suite. How did you get that to happen and could it be because we are there over MLK instead? My cm was not very helpful or knowledgable and this is my first trip, so I don't know much either.

Thanks!

I called and got the code as well. I plan to upgrade to the Annual Pass as well and I asked the CM TWICE if that meant I would have to upgrade to the Premium Annual pass and he said NO. I could just upgrade to the AP w/ the Hopper. I do not have to include the waterparks on it...

I hope this is true!!!

Any word yet on general public codes??? Sorry, I am trying to read through all of this but nearly 100 pages...yikes!!

Go to www.wdwinfo.com

We used the ZVX code and applied it to our existing POFQ reservation and got about $300 off. It might be $400, but I'm not sure yet because I can't confirm if we have the water park option.

Thanks,
I just got off the phone with our TA. He wants to know if this is a % discount and if so how much, he doesn't have the information in his office and said he will call if I can tell him what the discount is supposed to be (amount, etc.) so he can pretend to know what he's talking about, lol.

Well, I convinced him to call after linking him to the DISboards page. That way he could see no percentage or amount was listed but the codes were in print and the package was described. Cross your fingers for me!

Sorry, meant to quote this one! I was told I would NOT have to upgrade to the Premium AP. I asked the CM Twice! I don't understand... If you go to Disney Quest, that shows on your ticket and then once you decdide to upgrade to the AP, it will only let you upgrade to the Premium? I wasn't planning on getting the APs until the end of our trip...

I would be very careful about taking the word of only one CM. The way I read Cheshire Figment's sticky (under Theme park threads) you must upgrade to a Premium AP if you use any of the "plus" options on your ticket.

When upgrading to Annual Pass, if the Guest's original ticket included Water Park Fun & More Option, and any part of that option was used, then the Guest may only upgrade to the Premium Annual Pass. If none of the WPF&M options were used then upgrading may be done to a regular AP.

You probably should call several times and talk to several CM's to be sure, or at least ask at Guest Services when you get to WDW.

I am considering upgrading to AP's during my trip, but if I have to upgrade to a Premium AP, I will not be using anything beyond the hopping option.

Thanks!

I was told that the code wasn't valid for the Family Suites (although it was the ZVY code, which is MYW with dining) either, and we aren't going over MLK. Our dates are 1/27 - 2/3. Maybe the ZVX code works for the Family Suites but not ZVY???

I called Mon - Wed to try to apply the Visa code ZXF, and it was "sold out". I called yesterday at 7 am to apply the general public code ZVY, and I was told that it wasn't available (not sold out).

I'm not changing resorts, though - I really want to try the suites!
