January 2008 Code Watch

I just got back from my TAs office. There are no rooms left at POP for the discount. I'd have called back and tried again if I were at home but my TA had two people waiting and it took us 25 minutes to get mine done. We had a pre-paid package Jan 1-7 with dinning and 6 day base tickets. We dropped the AAA code to get the upgraded tickets code. I had to move from POP to Sports and pay $19 but that is a small price to pay for the ticket upgrade.

I do hate that I had to leave POP though.

I acutally called late last night and the code was applied. Six nights POR 3 adults and one child (15) with 6-days passes and deluxe dining $3,138.84. That was a $394.00 savings over the rack rate. :cool1: :cool1:

I was wondering the same thing. I haven't received an e-mail confirmation and I called at 7:00 this morning. I am also a little paranoid because I didn't receive a confirmation number over the phone. Did you?

I've never received a confirmation email for changing an existing reservation, only making a new one.

I checked my reservation on disneyworld.com and it shows the updated price, along with this (names blurred by me):

How nice

January 18, 19 and 20 are blacked out for the code, If your vacation hits those dates they will not become available.

Hmm, I just checked through the travel agent web portal and it says there are rooms available with the discount for Jan 1 - jan 7....6 day hoppers and dining.... 1,384.80....is that your price Shasta??? When you have a chance have your agent check again, because at this moment, it is.

I just recieved an email from my TA and she said that the code is applicable to AAA ressies. But in my case, it only saves me $12 and I'd have to move from POR to POFQ..........just to get to go to the waterparks in January...I dont think so. We're keeping our ressies as is.

I just tried to book with a code and it turns out it would have been $14 more expensive than keeping the AAA discount I already had. Oh well...

Called in first thing this morning and got to use the code!

2 adults, plus 2 kids (4&5) at POP 1/19-1/26 with regular dining and 8 day MYW tix (now with parkhopper & waterparks) for $2105.80. It's not a huge cash savings because paying for the parkhopper option was too much for me to justify, but since it's 'free' I know we'll use it. (Now I just have to re-figure all of our ADRs!)

POP was already sold out when I called at 7:05, but I had an existing room-only ressie the CM was able to 'overbook' and convert. Not exactly sure what that means, but it took 10 minutes and I got free parkhoppers!

FYI, I tried to run the same deal on the Disney website to see how much we saved, and it shows POP being TOTALLY booked up-not just the code-for my dates, but when I changed the dates to 1/20-1/26 it was no problem at all. So people starting their vacation on the 19th might try doing 2 seperate reservations & staying at another hotel 1/19.

Not true, I just booked code for 1/14-1/21, the discount was applied to all 7 of my nights. From my calulations I received the Water Parks and More upgrade along with a 15%-16% on my Pop room for all 7 nights.

No, I paid $1638.00. I wonder why your quote is so much lower. My original AAA discount package for 6 nights at POP, basic dinning and 6 day bast tickets was $1618.00, still far above your 1,384.80!

I was told that there was no new confirmation number and I haven't gotten the e-mail confirmation yet, but the new price is already reflected on my intinerary info on Disney.com.

That isn't true, for this code at least. We're booked for Jan 16 to 27, and applied the code with no problem.

I FINALLY got my package discounted, even though the CM was still insisting that the code I gave him was for FL residents only! My 6 night at WL went from $3633.44 to $3239.96. Does that sound about in line with what everybody has been getting?

Also, when I check my reservation on WDW's site, it doesn't have my youngest listed anymore. He's only going to be 23 months when we go, but I'm pretty sure his name was listed before the code was applied. Is this something I need to call about?

My bad.....I think it might depend on the resort....I can get deluxes to span the blacked out dates but not mods or values....or, I suppose, it is possible those are booked up. Also, my experience is that some things come open a couple weeks after a code first comes out as some people that put holds on ressies drop them.

Anne

I'm disappointed. I got to TA and no rooms available at value. I was going to upgrade to mod and saratoga only avail. and is $1000 more. TA states they may open more rooms later to this code of ZVY. We do already have ress.at POP:headache:

I got to work this morning and saw the code was release and a few people reported that it all rooms had been reserved. :headache: I was bummed. Then (Bing) new e-mail and our wonderful TA Lori for SWT :wizard: got us in on the code and we've saved $300 bucks!!!

WOO HOO:banana:

4 minutes on hold and another 10 on the line and my family is all set. We have AAA but we booked with disney. Several conversations and quotes from our AAA office proved we knew way more about disney packages and it made me nervous about them handling our trip details.

[\QUOTE]

I'm not sure I'll use AAA again .....but it has come in handy outside of vacation planning....so I dont know

Hey! I don't know too much about AAA. What are your dues? I've had an ap this yr that's going to expire in Jan. and i was thinking about AAA cause of the really good deals. Can you tell me more about it?
Thanks,
Mousiemom

This is the same thing that is now online for me also. Still no e-mail, but I still have my original confirmation number from when I booked in August.

Got off the phone with my AAA TA a little bit ago. She's still waiting for the fax from Disney before she emails me to confirm but looks like we saved 117.52

our details
Pop Century 2 adults 1 child (11)
check in 1/26, check out 2/3
7 day MYW w/ hoppers and dining plan
Booked through AAA w/discount
2351.65

After AAA Travel Agent called- same as above except now with waterparks and more
2234.13

We had to give up the AAA discount to use the code, but it saved money and got us more.

I just told my daughter and she mentioned that she wanted to go to the water parks because she has never been...but didn't want to ask because she knew it would cost more.

Hoping everyone else does at least as well!
