January 2008 Code Watch

If someone has already asked this, sorry for the repeat. What are the codes typically for Jan? For ex. I have us booked at the BC for $315. per night, what would a discount be? And did I read correctly somewhere that codes do NOT apply to a deluxe hotel?Man, I hope not!! Info-please!!:confused3

It looks like those of us going in Value season luck out on one thing....there are no additional fees for weekends. That is probably the reason the room rate is not affected by the new system. :rotfl:

not true- my rates for MLK weekend are $10 higher for Fri, Sta and Sun than M-T-W. POFQ

hi - if i booked my january package last week, 12/30-1/4, which dining package will i have??????? thanks, wendy

You'd be in the same boat as me! I called customer service yesterday, and they told me that our 2007 dining plan would be honored for our whole trip. It's embedded in the key card which plan we have, so there'll be no arguments at the table! WOOHOOO!

I'm booked! I'm booked! Woo Hoo. FINALLY! We made our package reservation this afternoon. I was all ready and then the computers went down! Ugh. The nice CM called me back when they were back up and I got everything solidified. Here are the details: We're booked for 7 nights at POR January 3rd-10th. We had to go with riverside because we're a family of 5. I DID get the dining plan. DH and I talked about it and still think it's a good value for the 5 of us. We almost thought about going deluxe. but that would add a whopping $700.00 extra! I don't want to be worried about making that extra $$$$$ up and spending a lot of our time in restaraunts instead of at the parks. I only got 6 day base passes, hoping for a code to come out that will add the park hopper and waterparks for free. This is what has happened the past few years. We'll also be spending a day at downtown Disney and the pool and therefore won't be needing the 7 day passes. My grand total was $3,081. I'm excited!!!! It feels real now. Anyone else going around this time? I wonder what crowds will be like. ANy guesses? The Marathon isn't until the next weekend this year, so I'm hoping for light crowds and good weather. Oh I almost forgot..... when I booked the DDP the CM said you could pick a dessert or appetizer for the TS meal. I thought that was good, because then dh and I can share. Happy vacation planning to all!

Anyone know the best week to go in January with least crowds?

I have heard you should avoid 1-6th if you can but after that low crowd levels. The marathon weekend shouldn't affect the parks too much and that is 12 & 13th.

I know that when codes come out they often have blackout days, does anyone know if MLK weekend will be blacked out for any possible codes for Jan?

Also, if I book a package that has MLK weekend included in my dates, and then try to apply a code later, would the blackout apply to my entire length of stay, or just those days?

I am wondering this as well? We booked 12th-20th at the POR. It will be dh and I and the four kiddos. Our last trip before ds turns "adult" :) We added the ddp again and got 7 base tickets. I am hoping for the hopper upgrade. So our grand total was $3264.80. I am still waiting for my AAA agent to call w/ a quote. If we go w/ AAA can we add discounts later or is it one or the other?

We'll be at POR the 2nd-8th! :thumbsup2

We always go Jan.1-8th and have never had a problem. Going again this year and taking our good friends!:grouphug:

When should we expect codes for Jan. 2008 to come out? I believe the CM told me 2-3 months before the travel date. I booked yesterday and had a code associated with my info but only good for Aug/Sept. :sad2:

The last trip we also went in January and there was a code in October or November. I called and asked if they would apply the code to our trip and we did and credited accordingly. :thumbsup2 HTH

I have a dumb question? We've only been to WDW once before- several years ago, so this is almost all new to me again. Anyway- if we were to buy just base only tickets,( as boyohboyx3 said she was doing) hoping for the code to add park hoppers & waterparks for free, and they DIDN't come out, could we add the hoppers on at a later date?
I think we're leaning towards POR, with no dining, because of the boat service to Downtown Disney. My husband disappears to fish alot, and his dining at the parks would be a waste- worse yet- I'd eat his share, too!! He'll only do the parks a day or two, at most.

Thank you for mentioning that!! I'm not a dessert person, and I was really disappointed that they took the appetizers off the DDP. I was hoping they would substitute one for the other.

I hope you got accurate information from the CM, because no one in the DDP forum seems to have received the same news.

Availability was opened back up for POFQ today so I switched from POR to POFQ for our Jan. Trip. I'm excited. Now to decide where to eat!

I looked through my old email for my December Disney "Hello" and this is what I found: Hopefully there will be a better discount for next January.
