If I book my pkg thru AAA can you apply these types of discounts etc?

Should i call and change it back to a base ticket?

I too am a newbie! We are planning our first trip to Disney. There is so much to learn. It seems like every day I learns something new! We are planning to go sometime around the week of Jan. 20.

I would love to have the 40% discount as well as everyone else! Question: We are a family of 6. Would it be better to book 2 rooms or a family suite? I am looking for anything to save $$.

First time poster but have been lurking for months. Just booked our trip for Jan 26-Feb1 at WL. I'm hoping for a great code too. If no codes come available for Deluxe resorts I'll be changing to POFQ. I booked DDP too and can't wait. YAHOOO Disney here I come with my 2 yr old daughter for the first time.

hi - so here is my situation -

check in on 12/30 - check out 1/4 - i currently have 5 day park hoppers - should i do anything????????? i am also going this september for 3 days....

We are a family of 6 (or will be in a few weeks:banana: )
I have 2 rooms booked at POP for our Jan trip. This way we have 4 real beds. The family suites have one bed and the rest are pull outs. I wouldnt want to sleep on a pull out for 10 nights (the length of our trip) and wouldnt ask anyone else in our family to do it either. Thats why we choose 2 rooms. The family suites do have a fridge and a microwave I believe, but we are on a fridge swap anyways so thats not important to us. Some people have said that those pull outs are comfy, but I have yet to ever sleep on one that is.

Booked January 1-6 at POFQ through AAA. Did the basic ticket plan and ME. Booked 2 rooms for the 5 of us. Tried for water view, but they said they had none left. Will be looking for thr Hopper code. I also need to think a little more about the Dining plan. I didn't book it- just don't want to get too tied up with certain restaurants and reservations this trip. Might do Fantasmic one night & that's about all I want to plan. But who knows- that may all change with me tommorrow!!:dance3:

Subscribing , we'll be there 19th -26th.....I hope we find some codes

So I'm planning on a trip with my DD from 1/18 - 1/26. I booked the rooms (4 nights AKL, 4 nights Poly) by calling Disney direct and they gave me a AAA discount. So here is my question... can i add the dining plan on if i get the tickets through them. I'm really hoping that the Annual Pass discounts will come out and then I can do it that way. But if there are no Annual Pass discounts, I'm trying to figure out the best way to go.

Thanks!

Maura

Maura- You would have to book as a package to be able to purchase the dining plan. That means you would lose you AAA rate. Sorry, to be the bearer of bad news.

Sorry in advance for my newbieness...but what is POFQ ? Is this the only discount or are there other discounts? When can this discount be applied?

No apologies needed! POFQ is Port Orleans French Quarter resort, and doesn't refer to a code. Many of the posters abbreviate resorts, hotels, parks, and just about everything else :rotfl:

There are two main types of codes: general public codes and pin codes. Pin codes are randomly sent out by Disney to specific individuals and you have to be that individual to use that code. General public codes are offered to the general public, anyone can use them but you have to know the code and ask for it: CM's (Cast Members = staff) at CRO (Central Reservations Office) will not offer them. If you are in the Disney system (booked a trip before, requested a video, etc.) you can call CRO and see if you have a pin attached to your name. Sometimes pins get "lost" in the mail or email and never get to you unless you ask for them :sad2:

These boards are a great source for general codes, you will hear about thier existance very quickly here :goodvibes I recommend signing up for the www.mousesavers.com newsletter and checking there often as well as frequently visiting these boards, they have very up-to-date information.

Welcome to the DIS!

OK BarleyJack, I guess I didn't answer all of your questions in my lengthy last post :rotfl2:

Most of the time, Disney only has one promotion at a time, and it usually only applies to a certain number of rooms. AAA has their own promotion, and it also only applies to a certain number of rooms. As a previous poster said, you can't use both a AAA and a Disney code at the same time.

What many people do is to go ahead and book their rooms or a package, and then when the code comes out, call back and try to have them apply the code to your existing reservation. As I understand it, though, you have to be kind of quick on the draw here, because, since there is only a select number of discounts per resort, if they have already given their quota away before you switch yours, they won't have any left to give you, savy?pirate:

Hope this helps!

Wow thanks for all of your help! I feel a little stupid not knowing that was a resort...ha.

We've booked a trip to POR (impressed?). It's the first time we've been to WDW ina very long time, just trying to get up to speed. Again, thanks for all of your info.

One more question, when do the codes for January usually come out?

This is not a January resort code, but you can use the code "costumes" at Disney shopping and get various discounts on Halloween costumes and accessories..........

.............still searching :surfweb:

This page has historic code release dates, but that's not saying Disney will follow it this year...here's hoping!
