January 2008 Code Watch

Just made me Jan. ADRs and I had a hard time getting a couple places at the times I wanted -- mostly LeCellier -- and I made them at 180+10 at about 7:30 a.m. so everyone out there -- get on the phone!! :goodvibes

We went in Jan this year w/hopper & more upgrade. We USED THE HECK out of the hopper feature. We love to go to a park for the day, eat dinner, then do a different park in the evening. We also almost never spend a whole day at AK or MGM, so with a hopper, we have the option of going to another park that day. Surprisingly, we also used the & more feature this trip. On our last day we went to Disney Quest at DTD. We would not have done it without it being free because of the cost, but it was a really cool place and we enjoyed it! We never even gave going to the water parks a second thought. It just is not warm enough IMO to try it. We have always used hoppers, and we love the flexibility they give---makes touring more relaxing for us.

I never thought about MGM and AK being short day parks. Good info...thank you!

Can I be nosey and ask what days you were trying for Le Cellier?

No problem. I was trying for Friday, Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. They could only give me 9:50. but I wound up with Jan. 15. That totally threw me for a loop cause we were trying to do Le Cellier 2x this trip -- but now we're not cause it would wind up being like 2 days in a row. Good lucK!!

Well, I made all our ADRs today. I had no trouble getting reservations for the restaurants and character meals that we wanted.

I did call at 7:00 when they opened....to be on the safe side.:thumbsup2

All of ours are done (no DDP for us this time!)

1/12: Boma (dinner)

1/15: Le Cellier (dinner)

1/16: LTT (for lunch)

1/17: Kona (dinner)

1/18: Le Cellier (dinner)

Just curious-why no ddp this time? Because I am debating it for our next trip.

Just wanted to let everyone know that when you stay at a Disney Resort that you can make reservations 190 days out instead of 180 days. I did't know that until I made room res. So that means that if you want to eat at the Castle then you need to be up before 7:00am to start calling (190 days). we are planning to go Jan 29th 2008 - Feb 3rd 2008 so on July 25th I will be on that phone trying to get res. for the breakfast at the castle. We have done this 2 times before and it is so worth it. We love Ohana's also.

Actually, you can make ADRs 180 days from the first day of your reservation - for that day and up to 10 that follow. So, really, 190 days is only for the 10th day of your vacation. Some CMs seem confused about this, though.

As for Cindy's, yes, you can call on the 180 day mark from your arrival, for a few days following, but we've been seeing lots and lots of cases of people having luck on the 180 day mark for the day they want to eat there. Per several different posters and a couple of CMs, it appears that a number of the tables don't get released until exactly 180 days before.

I'd say try every way you can if you really want a particular date/time, though!

This is exactly what I was told yesterday! I had to quote my disney resort reservation # and the date that I would be arriving. I got Cindy's table at 180 +1 day since we wanted to eat there the second day of our visit. :upsidedow

Oops! I'm so excited I posted this in the wrong thread Mea culpa!

Just a few ressies for Marathon weekend:

1/10 Raglan Road 8:00 pm

1/13 Artist Point 7:30 pm

We're trying RR in August, and if we like it we'll keep the ressie. If not, I have to come up with something else!

We're planning to go on the week starting January 26th. I'd love to get a great deal on a value resort! In 2005, we went for $55 a night!
