Hi,

Please excuse my ignorance, What are you subscribing to??
I am very new to this and I am from Sydney, Aus
I would like to book online and I know the rates aren't out yet for Jan 2008 but would like to book ASAP

Any help greatly appreciated

FYI- people are subscribing to this thread so that when a Annual Pass Discount or any kind of code is published for a reservation they have for January 2008, they will have the info quickly and be able to call CRO and have the discount applied to their already existing ressie.

You can reserve a room for 2008 right now. They will quote you a room at the 2007 rate and increase it if there is an increase for 2008. Then, if a discount code comes out for whatever month you're gonna be down there for, you can have it applied to your existing ressie.

Or do they sometimes apply to tickets or dining? We've rented a room at Old Key West for the first week of January so now I'm trying to find ways to save on the other parts of the trip.

Sometimes they're for food and tickets. Free dining is going on for late August through September... and I believe I read somewhere that last year for January visits they were offering free tickets. Problem is it's either those thigns and no room discount, or a room discount and no other freebie.

If you need better deals for tickets subscribe to the Mousesavers newsletter at www.mousesavers.com she will keep you updated on all mouse savinfgs as well. Also- if yuo belong to AAA you can get room discounts and tickets discounts. Worth a look in my opinion.

Has anyone had trouble booking the resort that they want in January, especially during the time of the marathon??? I'm thinking we're going sometime during the first three weeks of Jan, and will def try to avoid the race...so was just wondering if anyone could NOT book what they wanted yet?! Thanx!

Marathon weekend will be every difficult to book- if you plan on going on that weekend, I would definetly book now.

I booked several months ago so had no problem. Last year I booked about 8 months in advance as well. But... I know as it got closer last year, I wanted to compare my price thru AAA with Disney direct and couldn't get a room anywhere for those dates to compare. That was about 3 months before our trip. Thank goodness I had my original AAA resies! So... book now!!!!!!!

We are working with an AAA agent and we were running into some limited availability over marathon weekend when we made our ressies 2 weeks ago (couldn't get Pop or AKL standard room that weekend). So yeah, I think it could get a little hard to get certain resorts that weekend pretty quickly. Marathon weekend is 1/12-1/13 for those of you without someone looney enough in your family to want to run it...and if you DO have a loon in your family tell them to sign up for the race soon; Goofey Challenge and the Half are already full and the Full marathon is filling up quickly too.

So make a room reservation now if you will be there over that weekend.

Isn't there a way to look in the archives or something and see historically if codes have been offered for certain dates? I am sure I read a couple of people say that, but being a bear of very little brain (me & pooh-we share so much in common!) now I can't find it! All those precious brain cells leaked through the placenta, and now the four kids have them all and I have nada!

Last year you recieved a reduced rate on rooms MYW tickets with free park hopper plus water parks and More.

ok odd question, i'm planning on staying in a value resort for my trip, so when the new rates come out how much do you think they will increase by? what have they been in years past? i'm trying to give my friends a rough estimate of costs for the trip so they can start saving right away. thanks!

We have ressies for POR 1/3-9th. I hope the schedules for times, etc. come out before my 180 days, but I don't think they will.

Yes, www.mousesavers.com has a list of historical dates of when discounts were offered and for what dates, just not what the actual discount was. General public codes for Jan 07 were released on Nov. 2 2006. Previous years' discounts were offered on Nov 1 '05, Oct 24 '04 and Dec 4 '03 respectively. So I'm guessing we have a bit of a wait ahead of us.

Well, I can tell you that Value resorts during value season were priced at $77-87 in 2004, and $77-89 in 2005, according to my Birnbaum books. I don't know if that helps or not

Spend the extra money - the DCL cruise is wonderful - even if you have to skip WDW. You can also get some good deals on some of the cruises if you keep checking!
