For Southwest, usually Sat morning prices are better than Friday prices. If I end up flying out Friday, I will pull Samantha 1/2 day and play at the parks. Early Sat before heading down there. If not, I will fly in and head straight to the port.

How long is the drive from Illinois? It's 7-8 hours from ATL.

We live just east of St Louis, so its 7-8 hours to Atlanta, depending on traffic and weather.

Welcome!! Awesome that you are doing your first cruise I did first last Nov. I was sure I was going to be extremely uncomfortable, but it ended up being awesome.

DD7 is already asking if any other 7 year old girls on our cruise yet! Would be great for the kids to meet up one day.

I know a few people have already expressed their interest in the meet up so I am going to start an official list to keep on top of names and numbers. Please could you comment if you're interested in going to the meet up and let me know how many in your party will be attending. I will update the "Who's cruising with us" post so we can keep track of how big the meet up group is getting.
The meet up will be a great experience, finally meeting everyone on the thread. It will also be where we add final room changes to the FE list for people who upgrade at the port etc (although if you cant make it to the meet up, Rhiannon and I will keep an up to date FE list on our door throughout the cruise)

This is all getting very exciting!
I love the pictures, keep them coming. It will make it much easier to spot the DISers once we get onboard

I don't think so yet. Are you planning any excursions with the kids? Samantha and I are planning on swimming with the dolphins. She wanted to go horseback riding, but you have to be older.

First cruise huh? You're gonna love it. And 7 night is definitely the way to go! Looking at your sig, you're into photography? I adore taking pictures of the ships. They're so beautiful, it's fun to get up early and take some pictures while there's no one else around.

There isn't a FB group yet, as far as I know, but I had been thinking about setting one up. Maybe I should get on go that!

we have gone from a park and cruise 4 days each to a full 7 day cruise, it will be tough coming from canada and not going to wdw, so it may get added on anyway

We are coming in Friday, but I don't think we will do a park. I'm going to try and get Bay Lake Towers for that night, but have to wait until the 7 months window opens in DVC.

Samantha and I just stayed there this past Dec, right before we went on the cruise. It was a perfect location since MK is our favorite park

Well, I ran/walked (mostly walked) my first 5k this morning! I need to pick up the pace, but that wasn't too bad at all! If anyone on here is using runkeeper to train let me know, I'll add you as a friend!
