January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Hi everyone. Just booked and paid our deposit today for our Category V room. Very exciting! We are coming over from New Zealand and this is our first cruise. There will be four of us sailing, myself, my DH, DD7 and DS4 and we are really looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully participating in a FE group!

This is going to be our first time cruising. We've been to Disney World a few times but never a cruise, so excited! Going with DH, DD (14) and DS 11 plus Momto3kidz family and grandparents to the kiddos. Any tips for going with such a big group? There will be 15 of us all together.

Does anyone have a FE group already set up for this cruise? We've been trying to research FE on these boards and sounds kind of cool. Wondering how it gets organized or how we would sign up. Thanks!

There's a thread from the past day or two discussing FE lists, and someone had a really slick looking Google Docs spreadsheet linked in their signature. I can try to find it and post a link when I'm not using my phone.

We would probably be interested in participating in a FE group.

We'd be interested also. We participated in our last cruise and it was so much fun.

We cruised last year with 10 adults and 7 kids. It was so much fun. We had two tables side by side in the MDR's one for kids and one for adults. It worked perfect for us. As far as advice, I would say don't go into it assuming everyone will be together for every activity. We all made it to dinner together which was great but during the other meals/activity we broke off into smaller groups depending on interests. We also tried to get navigators right after di

Sorry I hit send.

As I was saying, we tried to get the daily navigators after dinner (or as soon as possible) and make a game plan the night before for those who wanted to. Several in our group had type A personalities. We used our wave phones a lot! Don't forget to right down room numbers before you board. Finally, the 4 families who were cruising together met prior to the cruise to discuss our individual family expectations. It worked out perfectly and we all had a great trip and came home closer friends. Have a blast planning!

I would LOVE to do a FE thingy. I just figured it might make more sense to plan it/set it up closer to the cruise. But I've never done FEs (or cruised) before, so I have no idea how it all works!

We just booked our cruise. It will be myself(DH) DW and DS(6) and my in laws also. It will be our 2nd DCL cruise but first on Fantasy( last on Dream). We would also be interested in FE- did it last time and had a blast.

I am MIL of busdriverbrad so will be on this cruise. We will also be interested in the FE as we loved it the last cruise on the dream.

I'm noticing a lot of us have kids that are similar ages to other people's kids. It'd be fun to meet up on board and let them all meet each other too! (if that wouldn't be a logistical nightmare).

DD7 is already asking if any other 7 year old girls on our cruise yet! Would be great for the kids to meet up one day.

Thank you for posting, this is great info!

That was a huge FE list. The last cruise that we were planning on going on split the large number into 3 different groups so it didn't get to crazy but it's always depends on the people going. Something like that would be awesome.
Our DS is going to about 6 1/2 when we go. I'm sure he would love to meet any of the other kids.

This is planning way in advance (especially since I can't book excursions until November!), but dh, as of now, really wants to go to the Tulum Ruins when we port in Cozumel. There is no way on earth I'm dragging the 3 kids that far. So the kids and I will either be on the ship or do a beach excursion. If there is anyone with kids who wants to hang out that day it'd be fun to coordinate either excursions or being on the ship. And if anyone else wants to go see Tulum without the rest of your family, I bet dh would like someone to go with.

Just thinking WAY ahead, and we can discuss stuff like this more next fall.
