January 18, 2014 FANTASY 7 Day Western!

Hi all, we will be joining the cruise, this will be our first Fantasy cruise, Western Caribean cruise, but our 10th Disney cruise. Sailing day is our 46th Anniversary, so let the fun begin. On our Disney cruise to Canada we had the organizers somehow got the dishers to sit together, i don't know how they did it but it worked out great. If you guys need help let us know and we will try to help out. Wayne/Lyn (Wayne-aka Pinman):cool1:

Wow! 10 Disney Cruises thats insane!

On our January 2012 cruise we happened to be paired with a family from DIS in our dining rotation and it was really nice :) Id have no idea how to organize it with such a large bunch of people and with the early and late seatings though!

We have started a Fish Extender thread so we don't block up this thread with questions and tips for FE. Feel free to check it out http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3058550

Were doing a meet up at 3PM on embarkation date but the location hasnt been finalized yet. We will ask DahliaRW to add it to the first post when we have a venue. Hope to see you there :goodvibes

The first cruise Samantha and I were on, they put all the single parents together. It was interesting for sure, but they were all nice. One of the little girls befriended my little one, so we always had someone to sit with at the shows.

I would love to not sit with complete strangers, but I am guessing most DISers have the late dining. I just got off the Valentine's cruise with the later dinner schedule. Samantha was asleep 10 minutes within sitting down. Luckily, she is a quiet sleeper. :rotfl:

I am going to try to check with some of the people that we cruised with to Canada and see who they contacted. I do know that we have to have the disers room numbers and what seating (early or late) they have. If i find out how to do it I will let you know. I have checked out the FE page and it is great. We are still thinking about it. We did it on the Canadian cruise (Magic) and was pretty pooped out after running all over the ship. We had over 50 rooms to go to. It sure was fun, I sure wish I was 30 yrs younger though.:rotfl2: I will keep in touch, Wayne

I have only done 3 night cruises on the Dream. I was wondering if the formal night is optional on the longer cruises or is it required?

We are dining during the early seating, however with my parents being on this cruise there will be seven of us together – I think we probably won’t have other tablemates. It would be fun to be in the same general area as the other DISers though.

I understand that our cruise will have a formal night and a semi-formal night, and that for both nights the dress code is requested (although not strictly enforced).

On Valentine's cruise i had my mom and one of my other daughters with me and we had our own table as well. Good to know I'm not the only one with the early dinner. :goodvibes

That makes a big difference :) Thank you for letting me know. Hopefully they are early in the cruise because my only formal dress is very form fitting and won't fit after 4-6 days on the cruise :lmao:

We have early dining too. My kids are usually cranky and ready for bed before 8!

From what I have heard about the new boats and seen on the Wonder, formal night is almost always the 2nd night on the 7 night cruises
It's probably strategic so we all still fit into our gowns :rotfl:

Pirate night and semiformal night are later on in the cruise (generally the 5th and 6th night) :)

Are the formal nights tuxes or suits and ties?

A suit is fine. According to DCL:

"One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit."

Thank you!! I am still new to cruising, although by the end of 2014, I will be a cruise veteran.

I'm so happy I joined this cruise!!:thumbsup2

I had someone from the Canadian cruise get ahold of me and here is what we have to do to have the DIS people to seat together or close together.
Essentially, all you need is
A) all staterooms on the same dining rotation (we have one person who requested early, and it pulled us all to early, but we were able to get it switched back)
B) get everyone's reservation #
c) have one person call DCL and link all reservations for dining!

I guess we should wait a little while before calling DCL. I will throw my hat in the ring to help out in this if no one volunteers. Wayne:crazy2:

I will be on this cruise.. will be my 6th cruise. Was on Fantasy this past January, so can't wait to go back again. I will be in Cabin 8080.. So excited this time around I will be bringing my 7 year old Nephew (will be his first cruise). Can't wait to share this amazing experience with him.

How was the weather in January? We have done a Wonder cruise out of PC in January, but that was 5 years ago now! I think it was one of the coldest winters they'd had in a long time.

The weather was nice.. I have only Cruised on Disney in January and for the most part been very nice weather. Sometimes Castaway Cay was a little chilly but the islands were always very nice. This past January the weather was great till we got to CAstaway CAy when it was very cool. but more windy.

Sounds good! I was thinking about running the Castaway Cay 5k and I wouldn't want do be doing that in the blistering summer heat anyway, it would be quite nice to have a breeze!

:woohoo: I'm considering running it as well!

Awesome!! I am a total novice, but I figure I have a year to build up and train. Plus, it will be great to get in some exercise after all the food I'm going to be eating on this trip!

DH is planning on doing the CC 5k too - or rather I his DW is planning on him running the CC5k so I can get his race number as part of our souvenirs for the trip!
