Anyone sailing with child that is 2 or 3? We will have DD that will be 2 (close to 3) on board with us.

DD is 2 (birthday in July). She is the youngest in our family with a DD 13 and a DS 9. Hope to see you on board!

This is our 5th Disney cruise. We are in cabins 7043 & 7041.

Now that GTY room assignments have been made, is there anyone on this thread that has been assigned cabin numbers 7541 or 6543?

DD 13 will be happy to hear you have teenage girls! I know she will be looking for friends to hang with!

Great! I havent booked DD much yet for Flounders because I really wanted to get a feel for everything. Is that a mistake? Will it be full??? Just wondering...

All of this is so new to me. I am trying to figure out the port thing. Do you all leave the boat at the same time or is it basically open to come and go as you please? Wondering if it will be too long a day for DD2 to be off the ship all day long? This is the only thing I am really feeling unsure about...(At least at the moment!)

Last time we cruised when DD had just turned 1. We are trying to talk up Flounders to her by telling her that it is h special play place since we cannot pack too many toys.

Dinner will be interesting as wwe have the late seating. We will see....

All of this is so new to me. I am trying to figure out the port thing. Do you all leave the boat at the same time or is it basically open to come and go as you please? The ship will be open to come and go during the hours we're docked or tendered at a port. If you have a shore excursion through Disney, you'll meet at a certain place on the ship at a certain time and be escorted off the ship, through the excursion and then back with your group. If you just want to go shopping or on your own excursion or sightseeing, you can do that anytime after they announce that the gangway is open. No stress.

If we're anchored at a port, you'll need to take a tender boat to the dock. This is a little different from docking at a port. Usually, the guests that are taking Disney excursions get to leave the ship first; sometimes you'll need a number to get on the tender early; you can also just wait until they announce that anyone can tender at this time. Last time we were in St. Thomas, we tendered in.

Hello,
I've been reading DIS boards for years and finally decided to join for this cruise. I wanted to get some great door DISigns and to get on the meet boards this time around.
I know it is a little late, but better late than never.
I know I am too late for the FE, but I would like to join the Scavenger Hunt for my daughter Jessica (10). She has been reading some of these posts and getting excited about all the girls her age .

My husband and I will be doing the Twelve Metre Regatta in St Maarteen.
We did it on our first Magic cruise and loved it.

Our group will be: Kim DW, James DH, Jessica DD(10), Kaitlyn DD(3) Then Grandma Lou and Grandpa Charles (60's) in the cabin next to us. (They love cruising and I finally talked them into a Disney cruise)
So that is our happy group.

We would love to join the Scavenger Hunt. Such a great idea.

Also if there is a pen pal group for the 10ish age girls my Daughter Jessica would love to be included.

I have been thinking about "formal night" and am concerned about being underdressed. Does Hubby really need a suit or will a jacket and tie work? What do most women wear? I will need to buy something I suppose but am dreading shopping....Tell me what you all usually wear to dinner, especially on Formal Night!

Do you already own a "little black dress"? Or even nice black pants and a glittery/fancy top? Lots of ladies just add flashy jewelry or other accessories to black pieces. Do you know someone you can borrow something from? If he doesn't have a suit the jacket and tie will be fine. Hope you find a stress free solution.

I hit the second hand shop for a dress for formal night. It was stress-free to look at dresses that cost $25! That way, I have no qualms about never wearing it again. Also, most department stores have dresses and glitzy tops at ridiculous discounts right now. I outfitted my kids head-to-toe for $15 each. And I am not a good bargain shopper -- so this was a fun and rare occasion. Good luck!

I wouldnt be too worried about it - I think one night I had a tie on for dinner- the other nights just a sports jacket and slacks- I didnt feel under dressed -my wife had one nice dress and then did slacks and blouses the rest of the evenings and were fine - at Palos I wore a jacket and slacks -don't stress too much about dress code -I call it business casual....

I keep thinking about packing...does that count? I have piles of clothes ready to be reduced by half and then thrown in the suitcase.

We still haven't made decisions about what to do at each port. DD10 said she'd like to stay on the ship one of our port days. I think we like the Magic a little too much.

I read somewhere that we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn on our St. Thomas day to go through customs before anyone can go ashore. Does anyone know if that's true? I remember DD wore her jammies and we all crawled to the Walt Disney Theatre at 6am the last time we were on the Eastern itinerary. I hope I wasn't dreaming about that changing.

My hubby is wearing nice black slacks, white dress shirt and tie - my son is wearing the same, I am wearing a nice black dress and DD is wearing a nice dress.
