I am new to all this, but I think I want to join the fish extenders group. I am a little nervous about what is expected. It will be me, DD 11, DS 7( turns 8 the next week) and my mom. This is all of our first disney cruise and the kids first cruise ever. This is only my second cruise.

Great! I will add your group to the list! Oh please don't be nervous- this should be no stress fun. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help calm the nerves.

This is our first Disney Cruise for my whole family. Its going to be myself, DD9, Neice 14, my cousin and her 3 children DS11, DD11 and DS9. I would love to meet everyone if there is going to be a meet scheduled. Will someone let me know?

Which activity are you most looking forward to?
Everything!!
Which food/drink are you most looking forward to?
I am not sure. Maybe just eating all the time in general.
What excursions are you interested in or have you booked?
Not sure with water temps questionable.
Did you make a special request for early or late dining or for your dining rotation?
Early dining with the kids.
Are you planning to run the 5K on Castaway Cay?
Didn't know there was one. Anyone have more info?
Are you or your children excited about the kid clubs?
Yes all of us are.
Are character autographs a Disney vacation must for your family?
Yes I love pictures of them with the characters. Not sure what to do about autographs I'm trying to get creative.
Is anyone in your group celebrating a birthday or anniversary during the cruise?
My DD7 will turn 8 on Jan. 19
Are you going to Disney World immediately before or after the cruise?
Staying at Saratoga Springs the night before. Then we are staying at AKV right after and going to the World!

andeeNjoel what is a GTY??

I'll answer for you. GTY stands for guarantee when booking a cabin category. When you book a cat. 12 cabin all those cabins are assigned as a cat. 12 GTY, meaning they will assign you a cabin in that category or higher. For cat. 11 and higher they sell a certain percentage of cabins as assigned cabins and once that percentage is reached the category goes into GTY status. Once again that means DCL will assign you a cabin in that category or higher. It's a gamble to book a cabin in GTY status because you are at DCL's mercy on the cabin assignment.

We are one this, my 17 and 20 year old daughters and I. We are very excited. This is my 6th Disney cruise, did both TransAtlantics in 2007, the girls have been on two, including one of the TA's. Great times.

What excursions are you interested in or have you booked?
not doing any, bringing our own floaties for CC and cabbing it in Nassau if we leave the boat at all.

Did you make a special request for early or late dining or for your dining rotation?
late--love it. started cuz the kids, 8 of them, would watch the show with family, eat some with fam, then leave for kids club/nursery, leaving us to finish quiet dinner and meander to shows afterwards

Are you planning to run the 5K on Castaway Cay?
I will be horizontal on the beach or water

Are you or your children excited about the kid clubs?
no need this time, my little kids loved it before

Are character autographs a Disney vacation must for your family?
nope,never was

Is anyone in your group celebrating a birthday or anniversary during the cruise?
nope

Are you going to Disney World immediately before or after the cruise?
Nope, but usually go after to fight 'getting off the boat depression.'

Surprising the kids!!! We bought tshirts for them that say, "My parents surprised me with a Disney Cruise today!!" I can't WAIT to see the looks on their faces!!


Which food/drink are you most looking forward to?

Drinks of the day!!!!

What excursions are you interested in or have you booked?

Nothing. But, I hope to parasail with ds13 on CC. I swam with the dolphins with ds12 last year. Parasailing was cancelled that time due to wind. I have the feeling both those excursions would've been my "time of my life!" kind of excursions!!

Did you make a special request for early or late dining or for your dining rotation?
Early
Are you planning to run the 5K on Castaway Cay?
Heck yes!!!! I'll have run the half marathon at disney the week before. I think I can handle a 5k after that!!!

Are you or your children excited about the kid clubs?
Oh yes!!!

Are character autographs a Disney vacation must for your family?
Nope. Dd is the first to love them.

Is anyone in your group celebrating a birthday or anniversary during the cruise?
Dd will be four right after we get off the ship.

Are you going to Disney World immediately before or after the cruise?
We're staying at WDW for 7 days before. We're actually staying on the Wonder for the 1/17 4 day cruise too!!

I just checked UPS tracking (by reference # - your confirmation #) and our travel docs should arrive tomorrow. YIPPEE! This makes it seem that much closer!

How is everyone coming along with their fish extender planning?

I had planned to re-use one from a previous cruise but now I am thinking about making a new one.

Looks like we have 9 travel parties participating so far. Please let me know if you would like to join.

Hey! I know your name!! I read your TR when we were planning our first cruise!!! I'm SO psyched to meet you!!!!

Our cruise is a surprise, so I've been grabbing the mail just in case. I told our boys that I'm expecting a package from Disney with a DVD about the Dream and I want to open it and watch it firstj!!!!! So far they believe me!

Roy Disney was such a nice man. I had the opportunity to meet him at a reception in Philly a few years ago.

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to participate in the fish extender exchange. It sounds like a hoot, but it looks like our Jan is going to be hot mess of work and family obligations. We're going to be lucky to make it on the ship with clothes!
