Jane E.'s Fitness Journal

YAY 157!!! :cheer2:

The fajitas sound so yummy! I may have to put that on the menu for next week. *nods*

This weekend went by quickly. I did 30 minutes of walking on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday:
breakfast: cereal w/peaches, nonfat milk
lunch: LC meal
snack: Healthy Choice fudge ice cream bars - I remembered to take it to work so I wouldn't be tempted by their food.

dinner: 1/2 order of chix fajita nachos - 2 long island iced teas

Sunday:
breakfast: cereal w/ banana, nonfat milk, oj

lunch: LC meal & mocha bar, grape juice

snack: 1 slice of yellow cake w/choc frosting, 1 choc chip cookie, grape juice

dinner: dh made hamburgers out on the grill - he puts in two kinds of onions, A1 etc. They're huge burgers - must be lotsa fat grams - we have leftovers but I won't eat those, mocha bar, grape juice

9pm snack: toast and pnut butter & jam, cranberry juice

I can't believe I had another bad snack attack. I've got to learn to stick to good foods - but I love pnut butter & jam on toast.

Amy, we don't have a Cost Plus World Market - sounds like a great store! When I lived in the Los Angeles area we had a Trader Joes store. They sell wine, chocolate all kinds of things at a discount. I really miss that store. Florida has one but not in my area. How did the caramel apples turn out? They're much easier to eat then make!

Frogmommy, I love fajitas - they're so easy to prepare too. Dh wasn't happy that I didn't get cheese - so next time I'll have to be sure to have some on hand. The only thing is that I get super tempted.

You did WAY better than I did this weekend! I don't think there is anything wrong with PB on toast as long as it is whole wheat toast and just a little PB with All Fruit jam. The caramel apples were TOO good (check out my journal for the damaging after-effects).

Looks like you did really good this weekend, congrats on getting that exercise in both Sat and Sun!! Keep it up! :cheer2:

Well Amy, it wasn't whole wheat and it wasn't all fruit!!! It was my grocery store brand jam and get this ---- I purposely didn't buy bread because I know what it does to me. I used a hamburger bun dh had in stock for his football grill out this weekend!!!

Also, I stayed away from those darn caramel apples!! I didn't even go by the section they inhabit! THe only thing is I've got dh eating them too.

I weighed in this morning at 157.4. I'm hovering again!!!!

My food plan yesterday
breakfast: skipped breakfast which is never good - I just end up eating more in the evening

lunch: 2 basil burgers with buns but no dessert or drink

snack: mocha bar

dinner: LC cabbage rolls, 2 mocha bars

snack: stir fried a bowl of veggies with capers & sundried tomato pesto, then I had pnut butter &jelly toast (on 1/2 hamburger bun AGAIN!)

Today:

breakfast: 9:30am small bowl of cereal w/nonfat milk

I went to the grocery store this a.m., & I almost bought brownie mix. I was going to try the yogurt recipe which Pearlique had mentioned in her journal. It sounds so good! THen I had visions of me and brownies & it wasn't pretty! I decided to skip that recipe for when we have company and others can help me eat the brownies. Mocha bars & fudge bars were on sale so I snapped up two boxes. I have to have everything pre-portioned. I could probably make 4 single servings of brownies from one mix that should serve 10.

Kate, thanks for stopping by. I hope you're feeling better!

30 minute weight workouts

11:00 1/2 banana

12:00 lunch: 1/2 reuben, 1/2 slice of banana cream pie, 1 bite of coleslaw

I'm trying to eat every couple hours so I won't overindulge. I'm hoping that by eating what I want with portion control for lunch that I'll eat a smaller dinner.

3pm: 1/2 banana

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! We had a great fireworks view when we were at YC, and it's just so nice! I'm so glad you had a good time!!!

You made me laugh talking about your demon kitty! We have those decorator tables too, and the cats knock them over at least weekly. They also spend a lot of time resting under there--it must feel safe and cozy with the skirt all around them.

I hope you have a wonderful day today!!!

That is so funny - I have a box of the No Pudge in my cupboard and I absolutely refuse to make it! I don't even know why I bought it! I'm scared of it... :rolleyes1 But that is nothing compared to the tray of brownies that I got last night! It is safely in the freezer and so far so good...

My, my, you are desperate if you are toasting hamburger buns! My suggestion is to buy Sara Lee Delightful 100% Wheat Bread. It is only 45 calories per slice with lots of fiber. It is a little more expensive, but worth every penny! I have gotten to the point where I only buy Sara Lee bread products. I'm such a bread snob! :snooty:

You will get that scale moving again once you get back on track. I like your plan about eating more often. I try to eat something every 3-4 hours or I'll binge...

Keep up your hard work! You have come so far already! :cheer2:

dinner last night 5:15pm: LC thai chix, mocha bar
7:30pm: 1 corn on the cob with butter and salt

Today's eating plan:
9:45am: 1 bowl of cereal with 1/4 banana

11:30am: LC turkey w/mashed potatos and cinamon apples

2:30pm: Fudge Bar

5:30pm: LC cabbage roll

Pealique, we loved BWI. There's a ton to do and its so close to Epcot. Glad you had a great experience at YC. I was undecided which resort to choose but finally decided upon BWI because dh loves JellyRolls. Of course, I changed my mind a million times before our trip but everything worked out well.

Amy, I'm going to look into the Sara Lee Wheat Bread. That way I won't have to worry about calories. A couple of times I bought bread from the bakery at the grocery store. It was delicious and then I found out that they were 2 grams of fat per slice!

Eating every few hours seemed to work for me yesterday. I didn't do any big binging yesterday. I tried to eat what I wanted but limit portion size and it seemed to work. Doing my workout in the afternoon helped too. Usually I get cravings at that time of the day but by working out during that time I didn't get the killer cravings.

The other day my mother said to me,"Just because you've lost 23lbs doesn't mean you need to stop losing weight!" I have no idea what brought that on! Sheesh!

That sounds just like it could have come out of MY mother's mouth! Oh well...another challenge to manage. Remember- you are doing great!

Have a good Wednesday! :)

I'm glad you found something to take your mind of the snack attack! Working out is a good thing! I am forced to work out in the afternoons, but unfortunately it does nothing to suppress my appetite...

As for your mom - you just have to sit back and laugh or else you'll go nuts!

You are doing great, keep it up! :cool1:  :cool1:

Well, I for one think it's terrific that you've lost 23 lbs. Gotta love moms, but sheesh!!

I've heard that eating more frequent but smaller meals is better than eating the typical 3 meals/day. I'm glad it's working for you.

  155!!!!! Woo!!!!!
I made it!!!

Somehow spacing more meals out worked! I haven't even been working out as much as I normally do. I was 157 at the end of Sept's Challenge so I can officially change my siggie!

workout today: 25 minute walk (with a 1/2 block jog) and 25 minutes of yoga

7pm last night: fresh green beans micro'd in butter & garlic

8pm: glass of wine with dh while watching TV

11:45pm: went to bed at 10:00 pm woke up at 11:15 pm couldn't get back to bed - somehow if I have my toasted bread with pnut butter & jam I can sleep 1 1/2 hamburger buns later it worked!!!! w/ glass of oj - Yikes! I kept argueing with myself but lost the battle. Thought for sure it'd screw me up for my weigh in today. The day before I ate so much better & it helped. I've got to either have fruit, veggies, cereal or a lean protein when I can't sleep like that. I'd rather have my toast than a full steak dinner! If thats not nutz I don't know what is!

Today's food:
9:45am: cereal w/nonfat milk, 1/4 peach slices

11:30 a.m. shopping at the grocery store I had a sample of pasta w/ lemon chix and capers - she gave me a big sample

I've run some errands & then did my workout - haven't had time to sit & eat again.

Christin, I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. She means well but sometimes it doesn't come out quite right!

Thanks, Amy, for your encouragement! Its paying off for me right now!

Frogmommy, I can't believe its now at 25lbs!!!!! 180 seems so long ago! Actually, it was because its taken me so long to lose it!

YAY for the loss!!!!!!! :cool1: :cheer2:  I've gotta get my butt in gear - you are going to weigh less than me soon! :goodvibes And I'm not competitive or anything... :rolleyes1

That is such a bummer you can't get Sara Lee Delightful bread! Is there some other kind of "light" wheat bread you could try? It really would be better for you than hamburger buns... At least switch to wheat buns for cryin' out loud! :teeth:

OK, for tonight I will lay off the pantry sampling and you lay off the bun toast! We can do it! :cheer2:

Eating plan from yesterday:
5pm: LC thai chix, grapefruit soda
7pm: 1/2 piece of tilapia w/wine sauce, 1/4C corn, chardonnay

I knew if I tried to wait until dh eats that I'd get very hungry - so had my LC meal & then 1/2 of a dinner with him later at 7pm. We listened to one of dh's favorite jazz groups Take Five.

Todays food:

9am: cereal w/nonfat milk, 1/4 peach, oj

12: LC cabbage roll, oj

Amy, WW sells a diet bread and I've gotten that before. Also, I've gotten thin sliced Italian bread which is wonderful. Next time I'm in another grocery store I'll look to see if they have the Sara Lee bread. You'll be happy to know that I had no bun toast last night! How'd you do? Thanks for your support!

Hey, that 25 lb clippie looks great in your sig! I can't wait to get my 5 lb one...

I am glad you laid off the toast! I also resisted and didn't snack on a single thing! See, we CAN do this! :cheer2:

The weekend is here and for a change I am not completely petrified that I am going to blow it. Let's rock this weekend and have nothing but good things to report on Monday! WE CAN DO IT!!!!!!! Just think of those Size 12's. You should be about ready to fit into them, right?

Woohoo!! Look at that 25 lbs!! :cheer2:

Great job. Keep it up, you're on a roll.

Butternut makes a light wheat bread that's only 1 pt for 2 slices. (I think its 70 cal. but 3 grams of fiber if I remember right)
That's the one I usually eat. I LOVE bread too, so I decided not to give it up but just find the least harmful one I could! LOL :sunny:

Amy, I"ve been wearin' those size 12's since Epcot. When I went shopping before our trip the size 14s were too big & 12s a little tight. I was encouraged to buy the 12s - on one trip a neighbor was with me & another shopping trip was with my mom. They both liked the fit of the 12s on me over the 14s so I went with it!

I'm glad that both of you like my clippie. Believe me, its taken forever to earn this one!

Kate, thanks for the tip on the Butternut bread. I'll have to check out my grocery store for that one. Right now, I've got Pepperidge Farm Everything Bagels. I only eat 1/2 at a time but even that's .75 fat grams and I think about 150 calories or so. However, they are very filling.

I forgot to post that yesterday I did a 10minute walk. I've been really tired lately.

last night:
7pm: chix fajitas that we grilled outside, 2 kinds of peppers & onions. I didn't use cheese but I got the asiago garlic cheese for dh which he loves., oj

Today:

9:00 1/2C fresh pineapple

12:00 1/2 bagel w/lowfat french onion cheese, oj

3:00 rest of bagel w/lowfat french onion cheese

Yay on the 12's!!! :cool1: You'll be in the 10's before you know it!

How did the dinner at your friend's go yesterday? I'm sure you did great.

You are doing so good, keep it up! :cheer2: :cheer2:
