Hello all, we have our first trip to WDW planned for the end of January for 10 days. We are at PORFQ. What are the things not to miss, what tickets should I be trying to buy? We have our reservation at Victoria and Albert's. That's all I have for now. What are we in for as far as tour groups? I've been checking and it seems that crowds are down during the time of our stay. It'll be just the two of us.

I'm looking to make reservations for

Rivers of light
Fantasmic
Fireworks dessert

Thank you all for any insight and recommendations.

You could do dinner packages for Fantasmic and ROL. At AK Tusker and tiffins have a dining package that gets you a reserved seat for ROL. At HS I think it's Mama Melrose and I'm not sure what else gets you a reserved seat at Fantasmic. That way you don't have to waste a FP on the shows.

Am i really out of luck already that BOG is completely reserved for the end of january?

If you are past your 180 day mark then yes. Absolutely yes. Those go fast. Keep checking because this far out people drop or change plans. Set a reservation finder on the basic touring plans site.

May I suggest reading guide book or two. The Easy Guide to Your first Walt Disney Visit. It walks you through the steps of planning a visit. You can get a feel of the information by looking at Easywdw.com and Your first visit.net.

The unofficial Guide is also good, but you will have to figure steps on your own steps.

Keep checking BOG. People change plans. BOG is popular, but people do change their minds.

I do not think any of the three would be too hard to get.

You will need to consider how many days you want to be in the parks and whether you want to visit more than one park per day. Buying park hopper tickets cost more than one park per day tickets. With the amount of time you are there you foul do on park tickets. You
Can add hoppers while you are there if you want.

Pandora is the newest thing. It is interesting in the day and night. There are a number of good restaurants in Epcot and you visit the various pavilions to visit. Either of the guidebooks will give you information and ratings for attractions and rides. One of the first sticky notes on this site lists the FP priorities.

We have stayed at POFQ several times and love it there. It is easy to get around.

If you let people know what you interests are, you can probably get better suggestions.

Since you are at V&A you might want to look at Citricos, Artist Point, California Grill or Jiko's. These are signature restaurants at Grand Flooridian, Wilderness Lodge, The Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Good luck.

Thank you all for your help. We are going for 10 days from the 29th on. I just reserved fireworks at tomorrow land, Cinderella's dinner.

We are going for the rides, but there will be a lot of walking around not just the parks but the resorts as well. We may be cutting back on the days of the park tickets so that we can do some Florida stuff as well, gator tours or everglades stuff.

For some reason Illumiations is not clickable on the WDW link.

Also really trying to do/see more of what WDW, Epcot and all has to offer versus Disneyland.

Brown Derby is also offered on the Fantasmic dinner package. That is a pretty amazing restaurant. We enjoyed Mama Melrose, too. Hollywood and Vine is also on that package, but I've never eaten there and I've not heard good things. I noticed on the website that the prices for 2018 are changing. MM and BD actually went down in price. H&V went up?

I think we will try the Tusker House ROL package next time.

The only reason we've eaten at H&V is 1. Characters from Disney jr and 2. To get a slot for Jedi training. The food is yuk.

BOG fills up extremely fast. But people change their plans all the time, so keep checking. It is even possible to get an ADR after you have already started your trip as people change plans last minute. What meal are you looking to get? Breakfast is the easiest to get, dinner is the hardest.
