I am planning a family trip to WDW in Jan/Feb 2008. Our last trip was this past Sept/Oct 2007 and we had a great time swimming at the POR pool. I can't remember if that time of year allows for swimming. Are all of the pools heated in the winter?

Thanks!

Last year at the POP there was tons of people swimming in the pool in Febuary. I think the pools are heated but I am not sure. Hope that helps a little! candice:)

They are heated, but you still have to get out into the cold air. This past weekend with it's flukey 80+ degree days would have been fine. Today's high didn't even hit 70 I do'nt think, and it's COLD out right now--going into the low 40's tonight I think.

We visited the World in mid-February 2006 and mid-December 2006 and my kids swam both times. However, it was quite a bit cooler in February so we only swam in the daytime when the sun was out. In December, the kids swam in the late evening hours.

In February, it was in the 30s back home so the upper 60s felt pretty warm to us. I think that's part of it as well. How warm or cold you feel is all relative.

We just got back from Disney Sunday. The temps were in the 80's everyday. They said the pools were heated, but when we got in they were cold to us. After about 5-10 minutes your body will get adjusted to it. But it still feels cool.

Yes, they heat the pools and in the cooler mornings you'll see "steam" rising off of the water. Part of the answer, I think, depends on where you're from. You being from Texas might make things a bit cold for your liking. We've been there in January when it was in the 50's outside and our kids were having a blast in th e pool... but we're from Michigan. The locals would walk by and often shake their heads at our kids. One couple asked us if we were from Canada or Alaska! Yes, the air made getting out of the pool a bit nippy, and hot chocolate was requested when we got back to the room, but the kids loved it.

As New Englanders who vacation in Maine and LOVE swimming in the cold ocean, I will say that swimming at the resort and at the water parks in January and February is wonderful. We have found that the heated water is delightful and that you share the pool with very few people. HOWEVER, as others have mentioned, being from Texas you might find that swimming when the outside temperature barely reaches 70, even if the water is in the 80s, is not to your liking. Still, if you have kids, they will probably enjoy the pool no matter what!

we stayed at CSR last February, 2/14 - 2/22 and hit on perfect weather, sunny and 80 degrees :cool2: every day. However, the CM's said the week before was cool and windy.

I guess you just need to be lucky!
