Gotcha! My husband I used to do Disneyland in January too! There are way less people. We used to bring ponchos and hope for rain because everyone would leave and we'd have the park all to ourselves! We decided to do the cruise this past January instead of the parks and now we're hooked!

Yup... We go the second or third week in January because the kids are back in school, but school just started up again, so there aren't often field trips. Overall, you don't have to wait long for almost anything. We rarely wait more than 5 minutes, and the longest we wait is up to 15 minutes.

We also go during the middle of the week, Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Those are the least busy days.

I have gone to Disneyland during the vacation season, and I don't really enjoy it all that much. The lines are long and there are so many people that people push and shove. It's still magical, but it's just much more laid back and enjoyable in the off-season. A couple months ago I waited 45 minutes for Dole Whip... Yeesh!

I just prefer going when the park is less busy. Even with shorter hours, we manage to get a lot more done. The parks are so slow that it's possible to do Disneyland in one day and do nearly everything you want.

This year we're doing a cruise because we have been wanting to, and the 7 day cruise cost about the same as 3 days at Disneyland. I REALLY hope we enjoy it! We're both REALLY excited. :goodvibes

Sorry to be picky but somehow our cabin number got mistyped. It should be 2610 instead of 2010. Also, my daughter will be using her given name of Caitlin instead of Kati (or Katie). They grow up so fast. Happy to have all the new people aboard. Should be a great cruise.:woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Hi there,

This is my first time on the board, and my first time on board a Disney Cruise.

My wife and I are going. We are both in our mid 20's and we have no kids yet.

We're looking forward to the cruise, but I'm not sure whether we should participate in the fish extender thing, since we don't have kids or anything. Can anyone give advice on whether it would be worth it to participate? (I realize "worth it" might not be a good way of looking at things, after all, it is more about playing the game that getting gain, right?) Do other single couples ever participate?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, and if any other similar couples are looking to team up for dinner tables, let me know. We have the late dinner. If not, we are just going to take our chances with being paired with people and see how it goes. We're pretty laid back and get along well with most people, so I'm not too worried. My biggest fear with getting random table-mates is getting paired up with someone who is going to complain or be a pest the whole time.

Hi there... This is our first cruise, it is my husband and I, we dont have any kids! I decided to participate in the FE to add more fun, plus I love meeting new people. We choose first dining, so we wont be able to have dinner together, but hopefully we can get together for drinks etc... Now I am wondering if I should select late dinning, seems everyone prefers that... but since it is our first cruise, I cannot make up my mind.
Yay less than 2 months!

Since I'm only doing one bigger gift on one day, I'm going to deliver to all of the staterooms. I don't mind if the list is split up if that's what everyone decides to do though.

Oh... Do people do different stuff on different days?
I didn't ever see that anywhere.

I thought people just put something together once and then picked a random day to drop it off.
That's we we intend on doing. Whatever we put together, it'll be one per person, and we'll just pick random days to drop things off in random doors.

I know we certainly can't afford to do something different for every person every day. :(

I've only been on one other Disney cruise, but on that cruise everyone did something different. We had some people do just one big gift and drop it off on a random day and then a few people did small gifts that they delivered every day. I think it depends on how much money you plan to spend on FEs and how often you want to go to each stateroom.

The first cruise we went on was short. Everyone dropped their gift off the first day and then we were done. Not as much fun as we expected. On the last cruise, there were so many people participating and everyone delivering on different days so that you got a surprise or two everyday. That was a lot more fun but, because we had 40 or so cabins joining in, it was a lot of work.

I think we should get a final count before deciding about splitting the group. More people means more fun, but 7 decks and 50 or 60 people can be a little much.

On a different subject, does any one know anything about the zip line adventures?:thumbsup2

7 decks... 7 days... Sounds like perfect planning to me! :thumbsup2

Nah. It looked cool, but I'm not sure if the wifey is that adventurous.
We still wanted to get out into the forest, so we opted for the horseback ride.

Not anymore!

I read some negative reviews about the possible kitchen and engine noise on deck 2 depending on your room (I'm a light sleeper), so I paid the extra $60 and bumped us from an 11C to an 11A so that we could pick our own room.

I also saw that the oceanview rooms were sold out, which means we wouldn't be able to upgrade to one (which is what I was hoping). So that kind of got rid of the incentive for the GTY room for me.

We're in room 7541. :woohoo:

Oh me me !!!! PICK ME !!!! I know ALL about the outdoor adventure excursion and I am signed up for it again ! ITS A BLAST if your considering it DO IT ! It will be an experience of a lifetime =) the course is fun and challenging and OH MAN ITS FUN ! you get to go on a p boat off road in a unimog ride a mule and zipline :-) rock repel ! SOOOOO MUCH FUN ! not too strenuous at all so no worries there but the course is kinda extreme - they have hanging bridges etc if you you tube vallarta adventures outdoor adventure you can see what the tour is like IT IS AMAZZZZZIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG I cant say enough good things about it and now IM AMPED UP READY TO GO AGAIN ! this tour is one of the reasons why I am doing this cruise again thats how cool it is !

ok Im off my soapbox LOL

What if we found out what everyone on the FE is planning on doing ie. 1 gift 1 time a few gifts a few times or all 7 days or all 7 days as long as we split the groups
if we made those 4 options we may have a better idea if we need to split the groups etc it would really help me -

so can everyone answer A B C or D

A - I plan on doing one gift per stateroom for the cruise
B- I plan on doing one gift per room a few times
C- I plan on doing all cabins all days
D- I plan on doing all cabins all days as long as the group is split or a managable number or
E - other ( let us know your plans )

My answer is D

what do you all say ? A B C D or E ?:woohoo:

As far as the brumbies go...

A - I plan on doing one gift per stateroom for the cruise

That's the plan as of now, but I'll just go with the flow.

I'm not trying to steal Denver's glory, I just wanted to have an easy way to keep track of what people had decided they wanted to do.

The FE Survey
