Jan. 29, 2012 Dream cruise

You are welcome. After 13 cruises you get to know the numbering system pretty well.

Keep in mind that the left and right is when you are facing forward. :lmao:

:lmao: about the facing forward comment.. I'm planning on getting a map when we board. :) Our cabin was selected because it is near a bank of elevators. Ha. My TA has been on the Dream twice and said it really helps on a ship that size to be near the elevators.

Anyone going to the parks before or after the sailing? We have FL Resident Weekday Select passes so we'll be heading to POFQ for two nights after the sailing (first time as an adult staying on site). I figured since we'll be in the area might as well visit the house of the mouse. :woohoo:

I'm going to start graduate school in the summer so I'm not imagining that we'll get much more usage out of these passes. :sad2: We got them and used them for five days in October. Hopefully we'll be able to sneak away for a few days some other time before they expire in October but I am doubtful. Between work usually not granting time off when requested and school not allowing me any choice between what classes and when I'm going to be taking them, it seems pretty doubtful to me. :teacher:

We were thinking of doing a day, but its just so darn expensive fir just the one day! We will be hanging at a non Disney resort and most definitely hitting DTD!

I'm kind of there with you on part of that. My husband didn't go with us in October so he doesn't have an annual pass. I'm willing to bet he wouldn't want one! As a result he isn't on our DDP, hotel reservations or anything. I'd obviously prefer him going with us to the parks rather than taking two kids for two days alone. One day tickets are extremely expensive. They have a three day FL resident pass right now on sale but it isn't a hopper so for EMH he couldn't come and we'll only be able to go two days because we have the weekday select passes.

:cool1:So after a little thought the DW and i have decided to out ourselves and say that we are CM's...we tend to not mention it on the boards or on the boat due to a lot of people bombarding us with WDW questions, however you all seem very nice so if you do have a question or two we would be happy to help...most of you seem to have a pretty good idea what you are doing when it comes to wdw :)

My DW (bluecasbah) has been with the company around 10 years and is a concierge at the Grand Floridian.

I have been with the company for 6 years now and am currently a server at Turf Club Bar & Grill at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

if anyone is staying at the grand the night before feel free to stop by and say hi to the DW she will be there....

and for any of you looking for something/somewhere to eat you can always come visit me the day/night before at Turf Club :) We have great food and your typical disney prices :)

7 days everyone, getting excited yet?!?!?!

The Wild for Florida Pass (or whatever it's called) is $99 plus tax for 3 days, but it's only like an extra $27 to make it a park hopper. As a concierge, I sell them all the time. They are an amazing deal even if you only use them 2 days. A regular 2 day park hopper would run you about $240.

I've been debating doing that one or getting him the FL weekday pass like us. I really want to get him on our DDP. Would be weird separating to take the kids to eat. Originally when I booked he hadn't heard if he would be able to get off work or not. Thanks for the prices. I knew it was $99 for the ticket but wasn't sure of the cost to make it a hopper.

I am super excited :cool1:

I also just finished my FE gifts-I just need to wrap a few things and put on the labels.
I also wrote my packing list, I just need to finish up the laundry and put aside the things I plan to take. Then all there is to do is pack before it becomes all the more real.

I do think I need to go to the store to get my girls some new swim suits though. I just double check them and they seem on the small side.

Unfortunately, we won't be visit WDW this trip so I can't utilize your knowledge but there is always next time ;)

I noticed I made a typo when I wrote my DH's name. Hopefully it won't cause a problem.:guilty:

Without giving anything away, I know one sweet DIS-er who was customizing her gifts and went by what I wrote (thinking it was just one of those unusual spellings) before she came across another post where it was spelled correctly and realized I goofed on the list.

You should be able to add him to your DDP (remember it has to be at least 3 days before you arrive) and only have to buy him a one day ticket, then when you get there, go to guest relations and have them upgrade it to the florida wild pass or the annual pass before you use it. Concierge can do the wild pass but all annual passes have to be done at the parks.

Or the other option is just pay for his meals or just use the ddp points for everyone until they run out and pay for the rest.

Thanks for letting me know the time frame on the deadline and how it works. He is so frugal I can't imagine him going to any of our meals if I didn't add him on the plan. :lmao: I booked all character meals! :cool1: I figured the kids would enjoy them the most. It'll look funny to go over the pictures and not have any with him there. :rotfl2:

I'll call later today when I'm on my lunch break at work. See what they say.

Hi everyone. Just joined the boards. Lots of great info. We'll be aboard for the 1/29 Dream cruise also.

Hi there! Welcome. Are you getting anxious yet? One more week and we'll be on the ship already!!

Well I got him the Fl Resident pass to match the rest of us and added him to our Deluxe Dining, Reservations for Dining and the Resort. So we are all set. :cloud9:

I'm glad you got it all worked out. If you need any other assistance when you get here, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask, just PM me.

Welcome Centerline!

I can't believe that in a week I'll be on a boat!!!!!

Are we going to have a meet up post-muster drill on embarkation day? We've also got a roll call over on the Cruise Critic boards with a few folks there too.

So I am now in a position of trying to decide on main versus late dining. Originally I wanted early dining but it was full. I was wait-listed for main. Noticed today I have main dining. I was searching the boards to help with the decision and read opinions about each but now I'm even more confused than I was at the beginning. :confused3

Something I stumbled across was assigned show times. I don't show one on my reservation online where I read on the boards it would be. I'm wondering if it was something they started doing but then maybe stopped. Am I missing something here? Someone please help me out.

most commonly people go to shows oposite of their dining time, if you have early dinner you will go to late show, or the other way around....we are on late seating at the time being but with the kids its easier for us to have early seating so we will request to move when we get on the boat, we did that on our last cruise and we were able to do it :)

being CM's we automatically get put on late dining...we dont get much in the way of choices, but hey...i still get to go on a boat!

this time in 7 days i will be enjoying a cold beer in the skyline bar and i cannot wait...only 6 more days of work...wohoo!!!!

just a reminder if your going to wdw before or after our cruise come visit me at saratoga springs for some good eats :)

That's what I was thinking from previous experience on other cruise lines. The posts that confused me were discussing three shows on the Dream and having assigned dining and show times. Early dining had the options of 5pm or 9pm. With late dining having either 5pm or 7pm as their choices.

My dining reservations for the character meals are all late because I knew on the cruise we'd be eating late.. Now that's changed and I'm not sure if I should leave it or change it.

I bet your kids really love growing up in the House of Mouse! :thumbsup2 I work in a call center and always love speaking to people with the 407 area code. Makes me think of Disney ads every time.
