Jan. 29, 2012 Dream cruise

Better safe than sorry right?!? :) I saw where you had me as a maybe, didn't want to leave any doubts. :rotfl: I really can't figure this thing out. I get notifications and as such think it is for all the posts then each time I look, there are more than I see with the notifications. So you could have but I wanted to be sure.

Oh I understand...I'm even having trouble following my own posts...lol. But I added you again. There is just one more family to officially add- they already posted saying they want to participate.

I am excited about our FE exchange, since it's small enough that it won't cost anyone a fortune but big enough to add a little special pixie dust, especially those of us with young kids.

I don't know if any of the men would be interested (if they are anything like my husband) but I am also planning on going to the Champagne tasting. It is usually on day 2 nassau day around 2 pm. But I would love it if some of you would join me. :goodvibes

I got all the stuff today for my FE gifts. If it turns out as good as I hope they will (it requires some craft ability on my part) I think they will be enjoyable and used. I'm going to start to work on it tomorrow and I still have to come up with something to use for an actual fish extender.

When we did an FE we just used a regular tote bag and it worked out very well for us.

To answer your earlier question, yes I was a CM for 8½ years. I worked at the Disney Store.

Thanks JillJill I was thinking of just using a tote (I saw a picture of it being done) as well as some just regular wall organizers being DIS-ifed.

Sadly, there is no Disney store in my town (a few cities over there is). But my sister lives next to a Disney store outlet and picked up some sweet things for my girls. :goodvibes

I want in for the FE exchange.

Jon -dad
Liz- mom
James- 11
Parker Grace- 9 months

Stateroom #8032

I'm also 100% in for the champagne tasting!!!!

Sorry I disappeared for a few days. I've been working extra overtime for my massage fund lol

I think I'm getting a bit obsessive. When I woke up today I noticed that I'm sick and happy about it , as the probability that I will be sick in two weeks is now extremely low.

yep, bluecasbah and myself are totally in for the FE exchange...sadly we wont have enough time to get a new FE made to add baby parker to it :( and we will be at the champagne toasting as well....i will likely be at most/all of the tastings on board....they are some of my favorite things to do :)

by the way...we are exactly 2 weeks away...huzzah!

I thought I saw that someone was trying to reserve a cabana. We are going to cancel our reservation for ours so if you are interested we could coordinate a time to be on and hopefully you can snag it while I cancel it. :)

I know how you feel, I just got over a sinus infection. Better to get it out of the way now than right before we sail. I heard this weird story the other day but it might be worth a try- that if you are sick put half an onion in the room and it helps kill the virus floating around.

our DD's first tooth is coming in so she is miserable..but like everyone said better to get it out of the way now than while on the boat...hopefully tooth #2 waits until we are off the boat lol

Is she crawling yet? Hopefully she will get a chance to explore the nursery.

As someone suggested, let's close the registration by Wed so that way everyone isn't scrambling at the last minute to come up with gifts. I will post a final list then to make it easy to copy-paste and print off.

Also, since this is just a small group I think maybe we should just leave it up to the individual on how they want to distribute the gifts. I know sometimes people do one per night- while others do one gift for the cruise.
Some folks have a gift for each person- while some just have one for the room. I don't want to obligate anyone beyond what they can manage- especially those of us who are paying airline fees per bag :)

oh yea shes crawling, standing herself up with the aid of a solid object, sidestepping while holding onto things....we have a few hours of the nursery booked as we are only allowed to book up to 10hrs before we get onboard, but she will likely go into nursery during wine tastings and for an hour or two in the evening so the DW and i may enjoy some adult time...we will be celebrating our 2nd anniversary (although a couple months early) ...we got engaged on the magic a few years back :)

so yea, parker will be running...err crawling around the nursery, and i am sure we will spend some time with her in there playing with the toys as well :)

We booked our nursery time in the evenings too. Hopefully, there will be opportunities to add hours once on board. Unfortunately, I don't think they let parents in the nursery, even before they restated the kids club policies it seems like the nursery was always off limits. They do have a secret window where parents can watch them tho.

Hopefully the open houses in the kids club have something for little ones. She might like to crawl through the slinky dog in Andy's room.

Warning - my DD has decided she wants to kidnap your little one since that's the perfect age for kids that she loves :rotfl: . She works at a daycare and will miss 'her babies' while we are away. Her dream job is to work on one of the ships in the nursery. She's counting down the time until she's 20½ and can officially put in her application with DCL to be hired when she's 21. She's been talking about this since she was 10 and researching it as well.

Just found out some info I thought I'd share with you all. Did a search, but couldn't find anything posted about this yet. Ridley Pearson, author of the Kingdom Keeper series, is going to be onboard your sailing filming a segment of "Disney 365" for the Disney Channel! I don't know if that will excite any of you or your kids, but it's sure making me wish I had the $$$ to join you guys!

Thank you so much for posting this, my DD is very happy.

We were on the Wonder when they were filming an episode of AFV and it was a lot of fun. They did a lot of filming on Nassau day and our family was even in one of the commercials for the show.
When we arrived at the port we had to sign waivers since they were doing the filming onboard and there's a chance you could be filmed. There were times when parts of the ship were closed off, but it didn't affect our trip or fun.
