Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. It rained most of the day here in Key West. Still very warm and humid. Went touring around the town. Could not find our "favorite" bar Garden of Eden. Which street did you guys say it was on? I at least want a picture!
Thanks for the FE list Kelli, looks like we have quite a large group now. That's great. I really need to get cracking on my gifts. I can change to the first day to deliver if you need someone to switch. I wonder when the best time would be that day? It will be a very busy day so would it be ok to deliver them at night before we go to bed?

Hi everyone. Following the suggestion of FabFivePA on a different post of mine, I thought I would come by and say "hi".

I'm taking my wife and daughter (6) on our first ever cruise, so I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around everything we need to know about sailing on Disney. I love disboards, but talk about information overload...

INFO overload yes...for sure, but my first disney cruise i was glad to have all the EXTRA information in my back pocket and use it as needed.

SO TRUE!!!! I was thinkign to day if i just get 2 sets of interchangable sweat suits ( pants tshirt jacket,) then that would get me through.
And a nice warm blanket or a snuggie.....OH YEAH!!!!!!

We had the most amazing dinner...........OMG!!!!

My younger kids both decided to go out with friends to day.....so we said screw it we are going to dinner at a NICE PLACE.

So we went to Shulas on the Beach.

Any one ever in FORT LAUDERDALE.....It is a must do!!!!
Out first time but i was totally impressed.

We had 3 servers tending to us
Lights were dim
Music was classy
Food was to die for, 4 course meal wel served.
Comfortable chairs, great view.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Seriously Chrisse only -5 ugh. We have had snow for a couple days straight now and the wind pickled up pretty good today so instead of heading out to my moms tonight we turned around and decided we might give it a go in the morning if the roads are better.

A co-worker of mine just got home from an inaugural sailing of RCIs Allure if the Seas and she said its amazing. Has anyone here been on the Oasis yet?

Just wanted to make sure you received my email last night since it looked like you were still waiting on reply from us on the final list sent this morning. We will participating in the Scavenger Hunt and the Magnet Exchange if it is not too late.

I did have a few questions if you or others could answer so we prepare and get the right items. I read a few links about the Magnet Exchange and sounded like some buy them and some make them, but I was not clear if (1) do we get one for each person in the family or just the kids, (2) if they are exchanged during a get together, or if they are put on the doors maybe the same time during our assigned FEs days, and (3) should they be something from where we live or some type of Disney magnet recommended?

These activities will be a lot of fun and something I know my kids will have a great time doing and getting to know the other kids.

Let me see if I can clear up the Magnet exchange some for you...

There are very few rules to the magnet exchange. You put a magnet on the door of the people participating in the magnet exchange. I plan to do mine when I deliver FEs. The magnet can be something Disney, something from where you are from or something you have made. No real rule here. Remember this is all for fun.

Hope the rain stopped! I dont' think a clothing optional rooftop bar would be all that fun in the rain!

I got a dual screen dvd player for the car at a good price. And a wii game for the kids. I've been working on the kids' gifts for about a month now, so I just picked up a few little things for them today. I left the house at 6 a.m., so I missed all the long lines to get into the stores and had really quick check outs too. I spent the rest of the day pulling out the Christmas stuff and trying to get the house decorated. I've got to get that out of the way so I can work on my FE gifts.

Ok, I know I have been wishy washy about this but after some research we have decided...
If we can find a family of 4 to split the cost with us(making it $300.00/family) we will be renting a cabana.
With the cabana not only do you get a place to lock up your valuables, a host, fruit, snacks, water, soft drinks, sunscreen, towels & fresh water shower but you also get beach toys, tube and float rental, snorkel gear and a one-hour bike rental. After calculating the floats, snorkle gear and bike rental at 148.00 for my family of 4, I figured it was a small price to pay for the rest. If anyone is interested in splitting the cost and sharing with us, let me know and we can work out the details!

My Brother is still in a GTY aswell and wondering the same thing. Others have said that it can appear around 45 days out. I would have expected a cabin assignment by now. We are anxious to see if they got something close to ours.
