Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

We went to Captiva island this weekend.

Just got back and cleaning shells. Love that place so relaxing and i knew i would not be getting a day off for about 9 days so didnt want to spend them cleaning house.

ON FRI we purchased......SWEAT CLOTHES for the cruise....it is laughable but true and DD purchased another pair of pjs.

We really dont have to purchase much more stuff.......
I think just a couple things for my DS for formal night and semi formal and we will be all taken care of!!!!

I may start packing soon just so i have a rough idea.....

I also think we will make shirts for my sons bday cruise.......
To wear the first day........Not sure what they will say but gonna go that route i think.

SEE YA REAL SOON
LYNN:hippie:

DONT KNOW WHO GOT 1000

BUT I GOT 1100

And wasnt even trying for it!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

YAY YOU!

Anyone know a good place to shop in Orlando? I have always wanted to hit a Macys (my foster sisters name is Macy...lol). I also need to know a place to buy water/alcohol. Any ideas? There is no way I am flying with water or alcohol...lol.

I haven't done this myself, but I have read on the Disboards that a lot of people go to a Walgreens near the port in Key West to get bottled water, etc. I think that is probably what we will do!

My Brother is still in a GTY aswell and wondering the same thing. Others have said that it can appear around 45 days out. I would have expected a cabin assignment by now. We are anxious to see if they got something close to ours.

Thank you for your response! Glad to know we aren't the ONLY ones! I'm also checking with our TA. Sure hope we don't have to stay in the cleaning closet! :rotfl2: Just kidding!

Brrrr Cold down here in the South! Can't wait for our cruise weather!

we were gty just the once and i only knew my # like 4-6 weeks ahead of the sail date. ( when we got our papers mailed to us)

key West would be a good place to get some things.:thumbsup2

Also there is a walgreens not far from the port as well. Between the port and Ron Johns ....driving from port would be on your right hand side.

Also if there is something special you are needing dont forget i can get it for you and make the exchange when we get to the port.

We are driving and its no problem.

You are the best! I may just take you up on that offer!

sure just let me know.....................

I think we are thinking about possibly changing our Excursions.....
We were at the beach this weekend and the water was extrmely cold i just dont know if we are going to be able to handle it in January!

So, today is the first day i have seriously thought about what clothes we need for the cruise.
It is starting to feel really close now and i am getting excited.

This will be our most casual cruise to date......
Even though we are still going to do semi and formal night we are not going to go over board...( haha thank goodness):rotfl2:

In the past we have always matched every day and matched for dinner all 4 of us.......IT just makes for better pics.

But we are only going to color cordinate for semi and formal.

ANd i think we are going to do matching shirts for the boarding day which is going to be soemthing about celebrating DS 18th bday!!!

I heard some of you are starting to pack hows that going for you???

SO THE BDAY SHIRT........

I am trying to come up with soemthing clever for the shirt.

IT is not actually his bday but this is for him and this is what he wanted to do...so any ideas

He will be turning 18!!!!!

THoughts so far.........
"celebrating early is better than no celebration at all....
HAPPY 18th BDAY JO"

"HAVE A MAGICAL 18th BDAY"

"ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN, NEXT TIME YOU PAY FOR IT!!!!
HAPPY 18th BDAY"

please help these all sound kind of corny:rotfl2:

I vote for that last one, too. :thumbsup2

I'll be packing on January 20th so don't go by me. If my 3 "boys" are wearing shirts without writing on them, that is formal for us. We're not white trash, I swear, just casual. :lmao: Last year I remember my husband being all bent out of shape that he even had to pack dressy clothes, since he wears them everyday for work. He was all, "but this is supposed to be a vacaaaaaytiion." (whiner)

I love the last one too! Great ideas! I hope Taylor asks for a Disney cruise for her 18th birthday!

As for packing I am trying to plan ahead as I only have one maternity shorts and no shirts that are going to fit my belly! Thankfully I have some amazing friends who are digging out their summer baby clothes for me. DH refuses to wear matching shirts. I would be thrilled if he would wear a suit fr formal night but not going to push it. It may be a buffet dinner for us. :(. That's ok though.

I went for an ultrasound yesterday and te tech's "guess" is it's a boy!!! I'm excited but nervous as I have no idea how to raise a boy! We know for sure te day before we leave. :)

Congratulations! Boys are by far easier than girls in my experiences.

As for packing; I have things packed up already that I wont need till the cruise like water shoes, swimsuits, shorts and flip flops as well as the extras you buy for the crusie like FE holder, whiteboard, FE gifts. I have a Christmas party next weekend so I can't pack my dress shoes. Dress clothes will be packed the day before we leave. I also have to pack another bag that I will be leaving at my moms in the city with warm clothes for the days we are staying before our flight. Packing is completely stressing me out because I have never been this far from home...lol. I am sure I will pack and repack at least 100 times before we go.

We are back from Key West. We had a great time! So much to do and didn't have time to do it all. Looking forward to going back in 54 days!
So right now I'm doing all the laundry and then I will be repacking all the summer clothes for the cruise. I kept some other stuff in the suitcase(water shoes, sunscreen, hats, googles, ect...)
Still no cabin assignment for my Bro...wonder what that means? Upgrade perhaps? I'm just curious to see if it's near to us.
I had a question about the character signings. What type of things do people leave? T-shirts, pillowcases? I was thinking a photo matte. Do you think that would be ok? Has anyone done this? Just wondering how well it would travel. I don't want it to get bent. Also, I have read that people leave treats for the characters as well. What sort of things do they leave. Do you just put it in the bag with the stuff to get signed? So sharpie markers work on the clothing or should I buy fabric markers?
So many questions and I'm running out of time.
I really need to stop worrying about the cruise stuff and start working on my Christmas shopping or Santa wont be hitting our house this year! LOL

sure just let me know.....................

What beach excursions did you book? From what I have researched, Florida will be cool but Mexico and Grand Cayman will be warm(80°F ish).

In my opinion girls are easier.......so i guess it can go both ways:confused3
Also I had a friend once who got an ulta sound....they said it was a girl they DECKED OUT THE ROOM IN PINK canopy bed ruffles bows you name it it was the most beautiful room i had ever seen for a baby and she had a boy.

LOKKA......I know what youmean by packing and repacking
I used to do this too when i would pre pack or go far with the kids

But now i use these 2 methods to help releave some of that.

1. I tie a tag to each bag(large tag made out of paper and write a list of each item i have put in the bag.

2. I use a the largest size zip loc available and write on them the days of the week and usually one fot each person and seperate clothes this way.
(this way if you dont trust your list on the outside you can easily lift a bag out of the luggage and see a day at a time.

We are snorkeling one day and jet sking one day

I may ask out on the main boards about the jet ski, obviously you can get wet but do you have to walk in the water to get on them

But the snorlkeling???/not so sure about.

I know but 80 degrees means what for water temp...
We are used to going to the beach when it is like 100 degrees,
I know i am worrying about this way toooooooooo much but i am a freeze baby and i hate hate hate being cold always have and now my blood has thinned out so much from being in Florida.

I just dunno:confused3

YEAHHHHHH i did notice the 1111 that was tooo cool
