Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

sounds good to me DS should may be napping but DH or DMIL can watch him if he is. my bags always seem to be last on board so i wont be busy un packing :confused3

i will have a white board on my door to if need be.

I was taking a look at the room map last night and most of us are on decks 6 and 7 with a few exceptions so delivering should be pretty quick and easy!

I think the first date meet is at the Promenade Lounge on deck 3 right?

Yep, Promenade Lounge, deck 3 right next to the bar! :cool1:

Hi there,

Also from Ontario here...my daughter and I are going on our first disney cruise jan 22...can't wait. I have been looking at all of the posts and lists...so much to learn and such great advise from the disney vets!!!!

I can hardly wait...73 more sleeps!!!!!!

Welcome Missie68!! Glad to have y'all along!

(Feel free to post randomly here to get your 10 posts...lol)

Oh, come on! No one ever does that here! :rotfl:

LOL! I wear shorts to bed even at -40°C! I sleep with windows open, Ceiling fan and Standing fan on! In summer I crank the AC so my room is cold. I can not sleep when I am hot! It is roughly 0°C in the daytime and -8°C ish overnight. This is increadibly warm for November for us. I think even if it is around 15°C (59°F) we will be in shorts and warm.

How cold was it last year?

Girl, you are nuts! DH is the same way, I on the other hand, sleep in fleece with thermals underneath all year long... Last year, same cruise, was really nice. Temps 70 - mid 80's. We didn't need jackets or anything the first day, and while it was breezy on the decks, it wasn't really cold except that first night. Dining rooms are cold so bring a sweater or something...

Well even at this temp I am still in flip flops with my jeans and just a light jacket.

:sad2:

we sailed out of fort lauderdale and it was rainy would guess around 10C at best, i think orlando had frost. it stayed cold and rainy for the first whole day at sea and then got nice once we got south enough to start hitting islands. Luckily it was a 10 day cruise so we still had over a week of great weather even with the bad start.

I have also heard they are calling for a warmer than usual winter. Hope "they" are right!

Tammy, are you still booked with Dexter in Grand Cayman? Our group just booked with them. If so, we will have a pack of girls with us! Our group has 3 as well, ages 3, 5, and 7. Hopefully it will be good and mine wont be too scared to get into the water!

Yes, we are!! Oh, I am so excited... we will have a great time! My girls will be so happy to have some other girls with them.. they will be 4, 7 and 8 in Jan.
I am not sure how they're going to react, but I figure even if they observe from the boat it will be quite an experience for them to see and the cost was so reasonable.

I just hope we're not late getting in that day because it's a little close on the start time of the tour, but his afternoon time was too late. ugh! I asked Dexter about it and he said just to be adamant about getting out on the first tender, hopefully that works!

Ok, It started off as a good day but now I am mortified!

Work was easy and I was done by 10:30am. Got home and started pre packing some things I will not need till the cruise. Getting all my FE stuff organized I take our the embroidered pillow cases I ordered the kids off Ebay with their name, crusie date and ship name .... I had these hidden so it could be a supprise for them the last night of the cruise when they are dropped back off... and SHE PUT ON THE WRONG SHIP NAME!!!!!! I doubt she will fix this and I am almost positive if she does it will not be in time. I just want to cry. I know it seems silly but this is the one thing I have been able to keep from them and now it is gone too. I emailed the lady who made them but I am not holding my breath. She took a long time making them and they were almost a month later than promised.

Going to go lay down now, my headache is back. :headache:

I am so sorry to hear about that...I have ordered personalized t-shirts for our family and eagerly waiting for them to arrive....I would be so upset too if there was a mistake on them. Hopefully there can be something done for you.

I agree, the afternoon tour would have been better..I think it will be a little chilly in the morning. But it is an amazing experience(I have done it before without children)and I'm sure the kids will enjoy it and most definitely have some great memories.
How does the tendering process work on DCL? Do you have to go to a designated place and pick up tender tickets? That's how it was on my previous NCL cruise. We will have to be deligent and get there early in order to get one of the first tenders out.
If we are back from the tour by noon, I wonder if we will still have time to go to the beach for a little while....my girls love the beach.

Hey Girl! Can you send me a picture of them? I have a friend at work who does embroidery and she did my pillowcases last time. I can get her to do them and bring them with me... She did a really good job!

Hi Chrisse! I just sent you an e-mail with pix of my pillowcases. Pat can do just about any design...

It will be okay! :hug::grouphug:

Chrisse thats horrible about the pillow cases :sad1:

so has anyone that planned on this being a surprise managed to still keep it a surprise?

Everyone knows we are cruising. I am the only one, except of course, y'all, that knows about the verandah. I have managed to keep that a secret! And I have some stateroom gifts up my sleeve to that will stay a secret...

no secrets in this house. even DS runs around telling people he is going to mickey mouses house and on mickey mouses boat :lovestruc

im sure your family will be so excited about the balcony

balconies are so the way to go. i have sailed in an inside and an outside but once i went balcony i haven't gone back

its so awesome for my little guy to have that bit of outdoors right there

Still a surprise here. I'm just afraid that Jake is going to look through the stuff on the desk and see my FE spreadsheet or something when he's using the computer, lol. I can't wait to see their faces on Christmas morning when they find out!

Thanks for listening to my ranting today guys!

Anyways... I have a question about the kids clubs... I asked on the main boards but they have me more confused than ever. When can I register the kids? Is this something I can do online or do I have to wait till I am on the ship? Someone said I can do it online but I have no idea where.

where you went to book Palo and excursions there will be a space above that area where it says to register children...I think it's in the cruise plans section of your reservation. Hope that makes sense. I registered mine already. Now all I have to do is the online check in process. That's the longer part!

Chrisse, that IS horrible... that is such a huge error :( Usually these things have a way of working out for the better in the end, so sending you some good thoughts that it all works out better than the ones you had! :)

YES It's still a surprise :thumbsup2 ... though I have almost gotten got here on the puter a couple of times. Sometimes having kids that now read is a real pain!! :rotfl2:
I got the custom puzzle that says we're going on a cruise with a picture of the Magic and they'll get it Christmas morning or Christmas Eve, haven't decided which yet. I've had to make sure to keep our closet door closed because everything I've picked up for the cruise is in there!

It is confusing. I did the online check registration thing the other day. One thing I noticed is that my oldest says "qualifies for Ocean Lab" and the other two say "qualifies for Ocean Club" is that just old verbiage from before they combined the clubs?? They all can go to both, right?

You know, I'm not sure how it works. It's a great question I should call and ask. I do feel better knowing that there are more with us coming from the same ship for his tour. Since we would be the majority of his boat that morning, or maybe the only ones.
Glad to hear you've been there and loved it!! We're looking forward to it!

Hey, how do you guys does those multiple quote posts?!?!?!

I think they just have to be registered for one or the other based on their age. They will be able to participate in whichever activity they like, regardless of whether it is in the club or the lab.

Chrisse - Are your kids in Ocean Quest (or whatever the "tween" club is called)? If it is not showing up clearly on your on-line check-in page that may be why. I think I read a post not long ago where someone said they don't have to be registered for the tween and teen clubs since they can come and go as they please as opposed to being checked in and out. I just looked for it, but couldn't find it. It may have been a thread that was "hijacked", so maybe that's why I don't see it.
