Jan. 22, 2012 - 4 day Dream Cruise!!

We are plannig to stay on the ship at Nassau as well. We really did not enjoy it in November. If we do get off it will be to do the Pirates Museum which is very close to the dock (actually we would've walked right by it on the way to the straw market, ut we did not notice it).

We had no idea about the "Low boarding number" this last year and now we are planning to do that. We were #8 and it was soooo hard watching all those people get on while we waited!! But there were tons of people after us as well.

We also did not know about the lunch buffets on boarding day. I did not spend as much time researching the cruise as I should have. So we ate burgers by the pool :confused3 This time we are hitting one of the buffets! (Whatever the Dream version of Parrot Cay is, is that Enchanted Garden?)

So what dining/show times did you ladies select?

We did Early Dining/9:00pm show. Feels late for the show, but we did not want to do the 5:00pm one as we would have had a rushed day.

Well, back to work for me. Trying to stay warm in the -26C weather today. (Tomorrow it is supposed to be -41C when we wake up:scared1:)

The straw market is about as far as I would go too. #8 yikes!! that would be hard to watch. We did the buffet both times and had packed a carry on so the kids could go in the pools.

Holy cr@p that is COLD, I think you should stay home. It is suppose to be cold tomorrow here as well but more like -14. Brrrr. DH (Alec) and I were just talking about Castaway Cay and the water will be cold in January. We were their in April and it was cold, took a while to get in and we skipped snorkling etc, just too cold for us. Will not complain though as we will be on a beach and not in the snow!!:goodvibes

BTW, its my birthday today :) So HBD to me.:rotfl:

:bday:

So your birthday will be right before we leave next year! Will you be in Orlando already to celebrate?

Do not forget to add it to your cruise reservation. We celebrated DD's birthdya in November and they brought her a cake the first night. It was sweet :)

I should post a few pics of the cruise one of these days....

Thanks Amy. I will be on the Carnival cruise on my actual birthday, but I plan I celebrated on the Dream too. :) Why not!!

I would love to see pics, I will do the same. It is so much nicer to have faces to go with the name. I know on past cruises, there was always a dis-er who was able to start a cruise website, won't be me, not that technical but it was nice to have all the info. in one place.

Hello! Tomorrow it will be 1 year until we board!

All of this coverage of the Dream this week is making me jealous!! I want to be on it NOW!!

Have a happy weekend ladies!!

Amy

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!

And yea!!! 1 year and 1 day til we board. Can't wait!!!

Pictures would be good....I'll work on finding one and posting it. Also, if anyone is interested in having the kids become pen-pals and exchange emails, let me know. My oldest son is very interested in getting to know friends before the cruise begins.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi Ladies,

I know what you mean Amy, I would love to be on the inaugral cruise, how fun would that be!!! I don't know how I am going to feel about a 4 nite cruise, think it will be over before it gets started:goodvibes but I can't wait none the less. Will have to do a 7 day on the Fantasy!! After doing the 14 day TA cruise, I was so spoiled!! 6 days at sea was magical.

Thanks Kelly for the wishes. Jake is 12 and would be willing to be a pen pal (or email, does yours have an email address??)

Have a great weekend.

As we gather up more DISers I will keep this updated. It will be a good place to keep the planning a bit organized.

Gina,

I would love your input on some ADRs closer to the trip. We want to try new things (but keep a few favorites).

Amy

Ask away, we have tried to eat in all the restaurants. We love to try new places everytime we go (easy when you go during free dining:thumbsup2).

Gina,
That would be great for the boys to email back and forth! I'm going to work on getting my son's email address working again and I'll send you his email address as soon as I get it figured out.

Everyone,
We also have early dining and the 9:00 show. It must be a popular choice! Hopefully we all get it!
I'm posting a picture of our group. Yes...we wore matching shirts! Something we said we would NEVER do! hehe! We went to the Halloween party and all wore them and actually had a good time with it. The boys are in front, Ben (who will be 12) on the left and Alex (who will be 8) on the right. I'm on the left (Kelly) holding Emily (who will be 4). Next to me is my husband Bryan. Then his mom, Shelley and her husband, Lyle. We have traveled with them on countless trip and can't wait to do the cruise with them!

Excellent!!! Thanks

Hi:wave2: there 's alot of us, 17 in fact.
My Dh, DD and I had a cruise booked for June to Alaska, but a costly home improve put a stop to that, so we were left with 906 DVC points to be use or lose. After deciding that, that was just to many points for us to use before the end of May next year we decide to share them with family.
I called DVC canceled Alaska and asked how and when could they get all of us on a cruise. After some searching they said this sailing date could get us altogether. We are booked in cat. 11c which is fine by us.
We'll be celebrating alot of birthdays and other things.
We have early dining and 9pm show times also.
My DH, DD and myself have been on 10 Disney cruises and 2 Royal Caribbean cruises, loving Disney Cruise Lines the best.
We are planning on driving down from Maryland arriving the day before the cruise and I think we'll be staying at the Radisson the night before, they offer free cruise parking and free shuttle service to and from the terminal.

We are:
Me Ginger I'm the oldest and lets just leave it like that.
DH Bill 40 something
DD Ashley will be 15 on Jan 20.
DBIL Dan 49
DSIL Sharry 43
DN Kaity 16
DN Hannah 15
DN Adam 6
DBIL Rick 37
DN Justin 17
DN Jessica 10
DSIL Beth 31
DSIL Pat 47
DBIL Scott 40
DSIL Shiree 31
DN Katie 9
DN Sara 8
That's all of us.
Counting our days!:cheer2:

:welcome: Ginger and family!!

That is quite a crew you have! Any other dis-ers? That will be such fun for all of you!!

Gina

For those of you that have participated in the Fish Extender thing, do they limit the group to a certain amount of people or cabins? I'm thinking it sounds like a lot of fun, but fear a large group would be difficult to manage. What have you all experienced in the past?

On both my cruises we picked a cut off date for people to join and then those that joined after that date started another FE group. I know that on my first cruise people joined forces and divided and conquered. This way you only delivered to a third of the ship but delivered your own and others as well, kwim?? On the 14 day cruise it was a big group but we also had 14 days to do it at our leisure. I can see 4 days being tight and I too don't want to spend alot of time delivering. Guess we can all make a decision as to how many are in each group to make it managable.

Hi all!
Spart02 We've never participated in the Fish Extender exchange on our pass cruises, usually flew to Florida so not much room in our luggage for any extras. But I've heard of it going both ways, either a gift for the room or a gift per person.

Belle1627 I'm not sure if my SIL Sharry gets on, I'm hoping she will to gather info with me to inform the rest of the family. I think we'll need to have a few get together before we cruise to get everyone organized. We are planning to making tee shirts for everyone in our group.:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::cheer2::flower3:

It should be interesting this cruise as I will be on the carnival for a week, then VB so I will have to cart the FE stuff everywhere. I will have to be imaginative with my FE's.

That is alot of matching shirts!!! Guess we won't miss you all!:thumbsup2

Your going to VB before this cruise? Could you ship your fish extender stuff directly to VB have it waiting for you there. Or do they still allow you to ship stuff to the ship? I know there use to be a warehouse that you could mail small packages to and they would deliver them to the sail on the date of your sailing.

Yes we are going to stay at VB for a nite between the carnival and disney cruise. We could ship but shipping cost are crazy from Canada to the States so I will figure it out in my luggage.

Hello

I've just booked on the Dream cruise for 2012 and am so excited!! This is our first cruise....any pointers on which excursions to stay away from? I know there's still lots of time....but there's sooo much to think about!
