Hi everyone!
We will also be sailing with you on January 22 cant wait! Were six friends (all adults) traveling together. My husband is diving in both St. Maarten and St. Thomas, but the rest of us are looking for excursions.
Were primarily looking for beach time, with added interest in kayaking or snorkelingthough I had originally planned to leave the snorkeling for
Castaway Cay (where it will be easier to do somewhat informally).
Its late, so Im fully aware that were out of luck/that most things are already fully booked for a reason. We planned and booked the vacation late and getting five people (in multiple countries) to plan ahead took time . . . anyway, not a lot of choice left.
We did manage to book the French Riviera Beach Tour in St. Maarten for all five of us. I never see it discussed here, and Im just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. Im guessing that a lot of folks just do the beaches on their own (despite the cost, the idea of transportation, chairs, lunch, etc. prearranged wins out for us on this trip), which is why its not booking up . . . but if there are any big negatives, it would be great to know (as for adjacent nude beach . . . we have no trouble at all with that).
First choices in St. Thomas were the Marine Sanctuary Kayak Tour, the Trunk Bay Snorkel Tour or the 5-Star, and theyre all booked solid. Any thoughts?
The St. Maarten Kayak tour seems to have some room, so we could kayak in St. Maarten and try and get over to Trunk Bay on our own (though despite the rave reviews of the beach, the travel time might not be for all in my group). Any other standouts in St. Thomas . . . or thoughts on kayaking in St. Maarten?
For those in my group who really want to kayak how is it just to rent sea kayaks by the hour at Castaway Cay? Is advance booking critical for those? Anyone go on the CC Waling and & Kayaking adventure?
On our previous
Disney Cruise (just me and DH, 4-day Wonder), he went scuba diving, but otherwise we didnt book anything and just hung out and walked around a little bit/stayed on the boat and relaxed.
Sorry for the long post, and thanks for your help!
