Jan 22, 2005 Eastern Cruise MAGIC Anyone?

Has anyone thought about a Dismeet? I was thinking we could meet on Sunday (our first sea day) in the Promenade lounge. Perhaps in the late morning. I will check the navigators to see if there is a time where there are not to many organized activities.

We are planning to be at the port about 10:30 or so (Happy Limo is picking us up a MCO Hilton Garden Inn at 9:15, and we will make a quick grocery stop for some water and diet Coke). What time are you all planning to be at the port? I will wear a green ribbon, so you know I am a Disser. On our last Eastern cruise, we met some other Dissers in line, and enjoyed their company several times on the cruise.

I can't believe how close we are. In just a couple of weeks we make our final payment! Then docs come. Then we are off:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

PiperG: The dismeet sounds great. I'll be picking up some ribbons too. I needed some happy thoughts this evening. Earlier today, my office building caught on fire. I am a clinical psychologist and have a private practice. I still have not been able to get in touch with all of my staff. The good news is that a passerby called 911 and the fire was put out pretty quickly. No was in the building at the time, so thank God no one got hurt. My office suffered extensive smoke and water damage, but no files were compromised. Tomorrow, I will move to a temporary space. It will take weeks to get my office back. Thanks for giving me something pleasant to think about this evening.

Mickey Minder,

I am so sorry to hear about the fire. Thank God no one was hurt. I can't imagine the stress associated with all of that. DH and I will be thinking about you over the coming weeks.

MickeyMinder-

I just wanted to add my sentiments. I hope that everything gets cleared up as quickly and efficiently as possible. :D

It is very good to hear that nobody was harmed and that your files are all intact.

Good luck getting it all straightened out- at least you have a great getaway planned to cap off all of your hard work gettting it back together!

PiperG-

I would love to meet all of you fellow DIS'ers. I'm fearful to commit to a specific time right at the present since we are travelling with others and don't know what the plan is! But keep us all posted as to what you come up with!:D

Mickey Minder,

Thank goodness that everyone/everything is ok. By the time everything is up and running, you'll be that much closer to the cruise.

Wasn't your office where you kept all your new cruisewear? WINK WINK! LOL Only Kidding!

Hope everything turns out ok and is done quickly, so you can enjoy the holidays.

Thanks for the thoughts. We moved into a temporary office today. We'll be there for at least a few weeks. My cruisewear is safe and sound and ready to go. So am I. I got mail from Mickey today asking me to come to the resort since he knows I like to visit in the winter. The mouse can always make you smile:earsboy:

I here you! I know I spoke about our first sea day before lunch, but DH reminded that we were planning to do Palo brunch that day. Let's just be sure to wear our green ribbons around the ship so we can spy each other:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

With the holidays right around the corner, our trip can't be far behind! I booked this last February I think and have been reading books and posting and everything ever since!

Should be just great. Surprising our kids with 3 days at Disney for their Xmas Gift...When we are on our way back to the 'airport', we'll surprise them further with the Disney Cruise. I'm not sure who'll be more excited! ME OR THEM!

HOPE TO MEET YOU ALL... Rooms 1050, 1052!

We are under 75 days. Time to make that final cruise payment and start planning to reserve your shore excursions at the 60 day mark. Here we go.......:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

You probably know this already, but you can book your excursions as soon as you are paid in full- you don't have to wait for the 60 day mark anymore!

(You have to be paid in full at the 75 day out mark now instead of the old 60 days.)

Can't wait!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

How old are your kids?

Yea! I am so excited to see that so many people will be on the cruise with us. My dh and I are flying in to orlando from Washington D.C. on the night of the 21st and renting a car to drive to the port. We are staying in Best Western I think. Then when we get back we are driving to WLVillas for one night and leaving on the 30th to come back home. Can't wait to see everyone there!!!

Ok the first is that I didn't mention we are on Deck 7, room 7565. The other is, are there a lot of couples without kids going?? We love kids and everything, but wanted to know if there are any adults only going??

And how do I get a counter??

Amanda

mickeyminder, so sorry about your office. Hope that you are settled in to your temporary location.

This is really weird for me, we usually book so far in advance. Now, we have booked and had to pay in full all in the same week:)

Had to be waitlisted for early dining and still dont have a room assignment, but who cares, we are on the boat.

We are spending Thanksgiving at WDW and when we get back I will get serious about planning this cruise. Dont think we will do many excursions since we have done the Eastern a couple of times already.

Got our airfare on Airtran from Pittsburg to MCO nonstop for 98.00 per person round trip (plus fees or course)

We too are flying in day before (dont want to take any chances on the weather) and renting a car to port.

Hoping to meet some other Disers on board. That has been a highlight of our previous cruises, putting names with faces.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. We are putting things together and dealing with the glitches as they arise. I got more Mickey mail today, a reminder of my final payment date (we always wait, it's part of the countdown). We don't have to pay until 60 days because we booked the cruise last year before the 75 day rule took effect. I still can't find a DCL excursion that really interests us. We are looking at shoretrips.com. It is so wonderful to see the new folks being added to the list. This is going to be a great cruise. Grlzmom, great rate. I wish we could get that, but flying out of Charleston, WV certainly limits your options. If we drove to another airport, it would cost us the difference in travel expenses, so we just go for it. After the week we've had, I just want to go now.

Amanda-

Here is where you go to get your countdown clock-

http://psiklops.brinkster.net/CDTimers/CDTimerGen.htm

There was a guy that was going with a friend of his, and no kids on our sailing date. I can't remember his name but look farther back in this thread and you should see it. Also another couple gave their names to Margaret to add to the list (she entered them as "kids at heart"), if that wasn't you, then there is another one.

But we, and our friends traveling with us, have kids.

We are all going to have a GREAT time!

::yes::

I'm so excited, we made our final payment and I'm ready to start packing!! We just got back today from Disney World and now I am really in the mood for more Disney! Mickey says to tell everyone HI!::MickeyMo

Hi Mike,

Hayden is 7 1/2. Any chance your boys are into Yu-gi-oh? If so, I could pack Hayden's cards just in case the boys hook up.

Zach & Lucas will be in the lab, Hayden will still be in the club. His b-day is March 7th, and DH and I had not planned on trying to bump him up to the next group. However, I know they do a lot of activities together, so perhaps we can try and connect.

:bounce: Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a while but now that we are getting so close to our cruise date, I'm starting to get excited for the big day! This will be our 2nd disney cruise (went on the Western 7-day last Jan). Yes, we loved it. My kids can hardly wait to go again and they ask if we can go to the Mickey pool! Traveling with my husband, and 2 daughters, ages 4 and 6. My brother is also coming along too. Both my girls would love to have some little playmates their ages to visit with at the Oceaneer's Club! I see many of you have kids in that age group. Hope they can all get a chance to meet in person soon! Maybe we could set up a time for our kids to meet at the oceaneer's club. We are planning on getting them registered right away and on the first day of the cruise, they open the Oceaneer's club at 7pm. It's a great time for the kids to meet each other for the first time and make some friends. See you all on Jan 22nd! Debbie, Dave and daughters Rylee & Skylar
