Jan 2010 Code Watch

Thanks!! Ahh im so excited lol. We want to book Beach Club.. but since the standard view is 340$ a night, can we book that or do we have to book a special view.??

Wait, I have missed something, what is going on? Is there a deal out or coming? is it the 4/3? Or is this some nasty rumor again?

No, it's not a nasty rumor...it is a delightful rumor!

Yes, the rumor is for the 4/3 deal (except 5/2 for values). The rumor is that the deal will cover the remainder of this year and early 2010 (with certain blackout dates I'm sure).

There is a "Rumored deals" thread with quotes from Len Testa's blog on touringplans.com (or just go to the touringplans website and read it there).

Let's just say yyyyyyyyyyy,,,That there would be a 4/3....
Do you think MLK will be a blackout???? Jan 18th and the few days surrounding it???

Last year room only codes came out after the 4/3 deal. I don't remember when.

Last year you paid for a 4 day pass and got the extra 3 days free. That is only worth about $10. Parkhopper is a flat rate no matter how many days on the pass so you don't save anything there.

Some folks did get non expire and save more on the difference between a 4 day and 7 day non expire. I did not do that so not sure on the details of that.

Okay thanks! Well I'm really hoping this deal will go through!

Isn't it kind of strange that they would be announcing this code sooner than expected??? :confused3

I mean, I'm not complaining, but we were all thinking would would have to wait until the middle of October for a code!

Don't know about this deal, but I went last year during MLK weekend and there were AP discounts for the MLK weekend. I never expected it and had planned to pay rack rate for those days, but was pleasantly surprised to get an AP rate for a moderate.

Has anyone done the math yet to see the final price of doing the 4/3 at a mod compared to a 5/2 at a value??? Just curious to see how the work out! We are currently booked at ASSp but am wondering if it would be a better deal to switch to a moderate. Any one have the numbers worked out yet????

During value season I calculated that 7 nights in a moderate under 4/3 would be about $220 more than 5/2 at a value.

Do you remember the AP rate for the mod?

This is what I am thinking about.

Right now I have POR booked for 6 night at AAA rate 1/7-1/13. I am staying at Pop starting this Wednesday and thought I'd buy an AP and try for an AP rate for the Jan stay.
Now I am wondering if I can get 4/3 (actually 4/2)if that will be a better deal than buying the AP?

I am hopeful this rumor is true about Monday and I can crunch the numbers before buying the AP on Wednesday.

There was no discount at the values that weekend, so I booked a moderate (POFQ) for $99 a night (before taxes). I think it dropped to $89 after that weekend for the weekdays. I was surprised to see a discount. Since Pop was $92 a night rack rate ($10 surcharge for the weekend on top of the $82) I decided to pay the extra $7 and stay at a moderate.

$99!!! That would be awesome!! I think I will stick with my original plan and get the AP. From a "tickets only" standpoint I just ran the #'s and would save about $80 over the 2 trips if I buy the AP. Then, if the AP gets me the room discount...all the better!!

Just got a Disney Visa card, how do you find out about a special released to disney visa holders? :confused3
Thanks!!

Mousesavers usually sends out email alerts about these offers as soon as they are announced. You can sign up for the newsletter and alerts at mousesavers.com. She also usually posts it on the website in the "hot deals" section of the home page when new offers are announced.:) I have had a disney visa for several years, and it seems like email announcements from them are hit or miss. I usually get the one in the spring about free dining, but didn't get one this fall.

I've been checking Mousesavers over the past few days...last time Mary had a heads up posted, but nothing this time. Strange?

Strange, I agree! (Notice I covered my rear by saying "usually" :cool2:)Maybe she's waiting until it's past rumor stage, but this rumor seems pretty solid. We'll see . . .

Yeah Lisa does seem magical :) and I bet she is enjoying the recent surge in business.

I just got my confirmation for our 2 Poly Garden rooms for the January marathon and couldn't be more excited. $199 before tax is an awesome 56% savings.

POLY - here we come

Hi Pinnochio, I got the same deal as Joanne. The discounted rates are available Jan 6 to Jan 16th - BC water view & Poly GV, CL GV & CL LV. I have read that at least one other person's stay starts between those dates but they are staying past the 16th & Lisa gave them the same rate for the additional days. If you look at the website, there are also some Feb dates available at a discount. I don't remember the dates & I don't know the price since we are going in Jan. Good luck at snagging a great price!!!

So nothing new this morning.

Does the systemget updated usually around midnight) if it does im totally staying up...too excited to sleep! Lol!
